  1. Plus all HAL ships have the closable roof over the midship pool, so a little heat makes the pool usable. Just like in any cold climate.
  2. Tendering at the port for the start of a cruise? Are we sure? How do they resupply the ship? Put all the luggage aboard?
  3. Please know the difference between an "upgrade" and an "upsell". An upgrade is free. An upsell costs money.
  4. True. Tallinn is pretty easy to walk, if mobility is not an issue.
  5. There are MANY discussions here on where to stay in Seattle. There aren't any hotels by Pier 91. Essentially you have a choice of airport, and downtown. Arriving at 6:30, I would probably stay near the airport.
  6. If you look in your account online, in the booking it will show you what is available if you select "Complementary Dining".
  7. The ports enforce whatever policy the cruise line tells them. The port doesn't care. If the cruise line allows it, you are good. So ask on the Carnival board, it depends on their policy.
  8. A little search of this board would be beneficial. You will find several rather heated discussions on the topic.
  9. Last time we were there, it was wait outside.
  10. If you read the thread about Gala nights that was started about 90 minutes before yours, you will see tons of info on dress codes.
  11. Nope. You are at sea at night time most of your time in the islands, and the days are not hugely longer in summer....
  12. TLV has the same additional security procedures as the US bound flights. So you are going to struggle to make that flight.
  13. Sorry...close, but not quite. First, depending on the time of day, the driving time and distance are almost the same to the two airports. Staying in downtown Oakland is cheaper for a reason...not a lot to do there. Yes, Southwest has a big presence in OAK, but the OP is talking about flying non-stop to Toronto. Ain't going to happen out of OAK.
  14. FCO to where? You won't make a direct flight to the US.
  15. Look closely at the website for the Hop on Hop off...they may stop at the cruise terminal on days ships are in.
  16. To add to what @Essiesmom said, all cruise ships have medical staff capable of handling an allergic reaction. Comparing with RCI, any of what are called "mainstream" cruise lines will do well...Princess, Holland America, Celebrity (remember, Celebrity is part of RCI), etc.
  17. They are now called "dressy nights". You may dress formally if you wish, or dressier, as you wish. Longer cruises might be more formal, but not aware European cruises are any more dressy.
  18. The N. Statendam, like the Rotterdam, also has the Rolling Stones Lounge (or Club...name seems to vary a bit).
  19. Discussed here quite frequently recently:
  20. These two threads from yesterday have a lot of info in them:
  21. Are you asking about ship's excursions versus private excursions, or simply just walking around, (in your case, renting a van) not on ANY organized tour of any type? People (including us) do all 3 options quite regularly.
  22. Nope. Northern Europe board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/116-northern-europe-amp-baltic-sea/
  23. Stay in town...there are several threads here on London hotels...and use the hop on, hop off bus.
