  1. Paris is a multi-day visit. I would definitely not recommend doing it the way you are proposing.
  2. The problem with that plan is the SFO-SYD is leaving at approximately the same time as LAX-SYD. So unless this switching is done hours in advance, with time to get you on a LAX-SFO flight and make the connection, you aren't making it that same day. And of course, there is the other maybe 200 pax trying to re-arrange because one flight went mechanical. You think there is hundreds of empty seats going from the US to SYD every night, waiting for one flight to go mechanical?
  3. That is a Celebrity policy issue that is probably the same in every home port Celebrity sails from. So asking on the Celebrity board is better. Keep in mind the ship is disembarking almost everyone with the need to load a fresh load of pax and sailing shortly. Thus, Celebrity will be encouraging you to get off as fast as possible. Certainly no later than 10am, probably before 9:30.
  4. Welcome to Cruise Critic! You are asking about a river cruise? Start with some reading here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/115-river-cruising/ "Best" is a tremendously subjective term...it means a lot of things to various people. If there was one "best", it would be very expensive, and sound out very quickly. So defining "best" is an important concept.
  5. Individuals on the crew switch based on their contract expiration, not so much on location or future location.
  6. There are two...second floor, and third floor, immediately above one another. Usually second floor is any time dining, so I would start there.
  7. Most cruise lines offer assistance, typically to the street nearest the ship, or to where the buses are staged. St Maarten offers transportation off the pier.I don't recall transport at St Thomas or San Juan or St Kitts.
  8. I expect you will be tendering, and the tender dock is right in town. There appeared to be some tour vendors there when were there in July, but the tourism business is not huge in Iceland.
  9. A little hard to follow this with no paragraph breaks or similar. It would be helpful if you gave some identifying info...company or boat name, so we know who to avoid. We do whale watch trips on Maui most years. Have never worn a lifejacket on 20 and 32 passenger rigid hulled inflatable boats.
  10. No, it's not too soon. You should be researching prices prior to your needed flight time. That is part of knowing when the price is good. But, there IS NO MAGIC TIME...stated here many, many times. You do some research, find a fare you can live with, book it, and don't look back.
  11. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Try asking on the Viking board, located here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/689-viking-ocean/
  12. In the past it has said "Priority".
  13. There are dozens and dozens of threads on Seattle hotels on the West Coast Departures board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ I would bet the Mods move it over there. Some reading there would reveal there aren't any hotels near Pier 91, where HAL sails from. But the distances aren't great. We stayed in mid town, the taxi ride was $13. As commonly discussed over there, downtown is not cheap. But its better than staying by the airport.
  14. Have you asked on the NCL board? It's a NCL policy decision.
  15. Welcome to Cruise Critic! Can't give you the link right now, but the best place for you to ask is on the Celebrity board. I am sure there are plenty of people there that can answer your questions.
  16. You are less than 3 months away? You have air booked with NCL, with a penalty for cancelation? Not seeing much choice in doing anything at this point. I would get familiar with matrix ita. That is going to be your best source for starting a fast search if any problems occur. It looks like you have a couple options coming and going, for reasonable prices, generally going through AMS.
  17. Welcome to Cruise Critic! The better place for your question would be the Carnival board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/133-carnival-cruise-lines/ I would expect different menus for each day that cruise.
  18. The far better place for your research would be the Florida Departures board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/
  19. The ship is cleared when you dock the first day. Otherwise they wouldn't let you off the ship that day. Customs isn't really a "thing" in the EU. Unless you meet certain pretty high criteria.
  20. Yes, you can. Expect you need to carry your own luggage off.
  21. When you board there will be a desk set up somewhere on board. Sometimes its outside the MDR, on our last cruise it was by the Lido pool. You arrange your dining there.
  22. PG is an all inclusive, pretty small cruise ship in a pretty exclusive market with little competition, in the middle of nowhere. The re-supply costs alone justify that fare.
