  1. We used a day use hotel as EZ Check isn't available to Miami airport from Port Everglades. If you can't use EZ Check or storage look into Resort Pass or Day Use (dot) com for hotels that offer pool use, or cabanas, even rooms at some hotels.
  2. There are day use rooms that can be booked through a couple of websites, Google is a good resource. Some hotels do offer early check-in for a fee. Check out Dayuse dot com & Resort pass, etc.
  3. The cabin steward will supply red plastic bags for you to put the disposable diapers & pads into so they can be disposed of properly if you ask. I didn't know this until I read it on a different thread. We use disposable diapers & pads, & washable pads on the bed.
  4. Sorry, not a direct answer to your question but, if you are sailing out of the US have you considered just buying a bottle (or 2) just before you board? Most embarcation ports have liquor stores in the area.
  5. The OP was contacted "received an email offering the chance to bid for an upgrade to a Sky Suite" not just using the bidding process so I stand by my statement. There is probably at least 1 available. If you haven't noticed they are now contacting people & offering upgrades at a specific amount as a counteroffer so the original process seems to have changed.
  6. There is a forum titled Disabled Cruise Travel and one called Ports of Call that may give you more information. The level of disability & the equipment needed will be the deciding factors as to what will be available. Check with the excursion desk when you are onboard for options,
  7. Actually sold out means they have probably reached passenger capacity. If you have the chance to move to a Sky Suite DO IT! They are offering it to you so there is probably at least 1 available. I would jump on it. We just got off the Enchanted in a Sky Suite & would go in it again in a heart beat! We are now spoiled for all other cabins but we loved it. My husband said best vacation ever.
  8. Sold out doesn't mean all cabins are sold, it means they have reached passenger capacity for the cruise. There are always some empty cabins as they need some availability for moving people in case of a problem with a cabin.
  9. $25 on Enchanted. Prizes only while the casino is open.
  10. According to the Port Everglades cruise ship schedule Caribbean is at terminal 2 & Enchanted is at terminal 21 so unless something changes you are at 2. I would verify the day before or day of the cruise to be sure. There are also billboards as you come into the Port. Hope it is easy for you if the terminal is 21.
  11. I think ohiocpa was referring to ebay. Also ask if senior assistance knows where gently used equipment is sold, etc.
  12. At the embarkation port you can ask for wheelchair assistance & someone will bring a wheelchair & push him up the ramp onto the ship. The batteries on your scooter may not like too much of an incline depending on how much he weighs. I ended up putting our scooter in free wheel mode & pushed my husband up the steep parts. If you have time & a shop near you with different mobility devices available, I would suggest you go check out some of the different options out there. Have a great trip!
  13. There is also a forum for disabled cruise travel that might prove helpful for you & your paralyzed husband - Disabled Cruise Travel Cruises: Ask a Question - Cruise Critic Message Board Forums. Hopefully you reserved an accessible cabin they make life much easier when you have someone with a disability. Have a wonderful time!
  14. Didn't you have the Nespresso machine?
  15. I would highly recommend a rollator walker with a seat for use on the ship if she is opposed to a wheelchair. There are many times you will need to walk or stand for (sometimes) long periods & there are often no chairs (and people are not always polite enough to offer theirs). Even for an elevator you may have a long wait. You can find inexpensive ones on Amazon or second hand, rentals can be pricey but are convenient. Hope you can convince her it is a handy tool to have!
  16. Try this "Please send us a direct message on Instaxxxx or X(Twitxxx)with your booking information, and our Guest Services team can assist. Thank you." People who post on a social media platform (that shall remain nameless) that they are having issues are advised to send a direct message.
  17. Thank you very much! I will ask as soon as I can once we're onboard. Safe travels & happy holidays!
  18. If you have a chance could you please ask if EZ Check is available from the port (particularly to Miami airport)? It used to be offered but I'm not sure if it still is. Thank you either way, you might have other things to do.
  19. Thank you for responding! Miami use to be listed but things have changed all over. I'm hoping they add it back. That's why I was hoping someone on there now would know.
  20. I've been using earplugs for years at any music venue or air shows, etc. If anyone has an issue with it that's not my problem. I can actually hear the music better with them in blocking the noise. I've recently also been using the silicone type as they can really do a good job sealing my ears. If you haven't tried them yet you should.
  21. Hi, does anyone recently on or currently on Enchanted know if they are offering EZ Check & if possible could you post the current form? I'm hoping they are & that AA out of Miami is available. Thanks for your time!
  22. You really might want to look into a scooter or rollator with a seat for her. Even if she doesn't use it all the time It might come in handy if she wants to go somewhere further away. Also talk to her lung Dr. to see if an Inogen O2 concentrator would help her breathing (again even if only needed occasionally). My husband can't walk long distances so we've used a scooter & an electric wheelchair. She might find she likes it as it makes life easier.
  23. You can google day use hotels there are a few companies that offer day stays at various hotels from Miami up to Ft. Lauderdale or your cruise ship may have Ez Check (they take your bags & check them for you - you don't see them again until you land) which is similar to Port Valet but there is a charge. In the past Princess has offered EZ Check but I'm not sure about other lines or what it might be called on them or even if still being done on Princess. We have a late flight & are using a day room on South Beach. If your flight is at 3p that's really not a lot of time from the time you leave the ship until you need to be at the airport. Most airlines are saying 1 1/2 to 2 hours before your flight. You might be able to check your bags in for your flight then go to lunch. Good luck & hope it goes smoothly.
  24. The taxi area is on the left side of the circular driveway as you exit the ship. People line up & there was someone coordinating people & taxis when I walked by. So if you are off the ship early you should have no problem getting a taxi. The issue with the Princess transfer is they use large busses & they don't leave until full. You could wait a long time if you encounter any delay getting through customs etc. or you weren't as fast as others who filled the bus first, which is why they don't want you missing your flight because you were not on a bus that leaves early enough. It's always controlled chaos debarking & embarking so as you arrive try to pay attention as to where the taxis are being loaded if you arrive early enough or ask the people directing traffic before you board. Hopefully you know the airport is not very close to the pier. There is also BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) that goes to the airport if you are ok walking to the station with your luggage. Good luck deciding & have a great trip!
