P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
Son of Anarchy replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Looking forward to reading about how it all went. We're on board next week. Nine years since we've been on Aurora! -
Hopefully no one has been injured. Must have been quite frightening for those on board.

All your P&O dress code comments and queries.
Son of Anarchy replied to jomf's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
A normal suit and tie will be fine for the formal nights. Casual shirt and trousers also fine for the non-formal nights. Polo shirts are fine. Personally I only tend to wear polo shirts during the day, but that's my choice. Azura's 7 nighters usually have two formals. Not sure about the nine nighter re-positioning cruise, I would have thought two or three formals. -
Ventura - overnight stay in Rotterdam Q?
Son of Anarchy replied to Scirocco Breeze's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
If there are shuttle buses laid on, they might stop running after a certain time and restart again in the morning. Done a few overnights in port (though not Rotterdam), never been any restrictions re getting back in the early hours, apart from shuttle buses where provided. -
Another great read. Thank you Sarah. Glad that you both had a good cruise.

Are the Launderettes Open on Change Over Days?
Son of Anarchy replied to tring's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Have used the launderette on embarkation day before, but many years ago. Ship was chugging down the Solent. An engineering officer once told us that he had to sort out an out of order washing machine after departing on embarkation day, and he was amazed that all the other machines in the launderette were being used. That said, I have a vague recollection of seeing something in Horizon saying that they would be closed on turnaround day. -

I used that address to complain regarding the wrong amount of FCC being applied to a booking as I just couldn't resolved promptly with the call centre. Sorted in less than two weeks. A few months later, I raised a complaint regarding incidents on Arvia. Sent it to the usual customer service email address, although I did BCC it to the Executive correspondence just in case. Took them the 28 days (after taking 3 bank holidays into account) to get back to me with a satisfactory outcome. Was dealt with by someone at the following email address: arvia.guestsupport@carnivalukgroup.com. -
Glass house on Britannia on embarkation day?
Son of Anarchy replied to db51's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Didn't realise that. Good to know. Thanks -
I still use the balcony when the weather isn't great. Needs to blowing a hooly to stop me from getting my money's worth! Last cruise we had fog for over 24 hours on the run back to Southampton. Still sat on the balcony for a coffee or something stronger from time to time. A bit eery in the fog, especially at night.

Sounds several levels above my building Airifx kits over 40 years ago!

We're not followers of football, but had the game on in the background. Glad we did. What a great game. Well done Lionesses. Might even watch the final! -
What constitutes a significant change to itinerary
Son of Anarchy replied to Mollag's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
The only person who knows who whether or not it is a significant change is the man on the Clapham omnibus. Just need to know which bus he's on. -

I forgot about that route. No upfront cost as well. -

Crazy people. The Ole Lady used to work for the railway. Lots of people doing stupid things out there. -
Whitebait then haddock for me. Bit spartan.

Unbelievable. You'd have thunk that they would have some sort of idea. Might be different to yours or mine, though. Which is the point at which the customer goes to the Small Claims Court, explaining why their (customer's) interpretation of significant change holds more water than P&O's. By the sound P&O's response, they would simply get ruled against at the Small Claims Court, as they can't even put forward at which point a change becomes significant. Others will have better knowledge of such things than me. Out of interest, there was a change to our cruise to the USA last year. Total of 35 nights. They cut all four American ports about six weeks before we were due to sail. We cancelled, and received full refund, no arguing. -
Aurora R316 Sindhu & Beach House booking
Son of Anarchy replied to thornegirl's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Very poor that there was no notification that they were operating a waitlist instead/overriding the "app". Never tried Glasshouse, but giving it some serious thought for R318. -
Aurora R316 Sindhu & Beach House booking
Son of Anarchy replied to thornegirl's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Be interesting to see if they do this for R318. Will probably be wanting to do Beach House at least one evening. CP currently saying that if we can book pre-cruise there's a reduced cover charge which I wouldn't mind taking advantage of as we only Shareholder OBC on this one. -
We went on Oriana with SIL once. We went into Andersons and I said that I really like the place. SIL said it looked a care home she'd worked in years ago! Hey ho. 😂

Another great read, thank you Damian. We've also got fed up with La Rambla, and tend to bounce around in the Gothic Quarter. Far better places to wander round and have a less hectic and better priced drink We quite like Placa Real if we feel like being a bit touristy, but without the La Rambla hassle.

The Epicurean Afternoon Tea looks wonderful.

Goes by the simple name of A. Although UK flagged, reportedly owned by a Russian oligarch. Probably explains why her last reported position was in the Maldives. Saw her about eight years ago in Croatia. We thought our charter yacht was quite fancy till we sailed around her. They were prepared to launch a rhib or two from recesses in the hull.

Lovely little place Cartagena. Walk into town. Roman Amphitheatre. Lots of reasonably priced places for a drink or snack. Although we found Marseille interesting and would go back, our first choice between the two would be Cartagena.
