  1. I actually prefer Uber. Many trips for me, only one problematic. Years ago DH and I always took the hotel shuttle from Embassy Suites. Was fun chatting with fellow cruisers heading to the terminal. Last time I took the shuttle no one would talk to me, the driver made me get out at every stop to make sure my luggage wasn’t taken off by mistake (?!) and my ship was the last stop. Took forever. No more shuttle for me.
  2. On my most recent trip from the hotel to Port Everglades my Uber driver first headed to the port parking garage, then got mad when I wouldn’t let him drop me off at the wrong ship. Guess I’m picky.
  3. No Luggage Valet for my Nov. 2 Reflection cruise. Would be nice if they added Silhouette for my February cruises. Southwest’s curbside check-in let my 52# suitcase slide by. Can’t trust my luggage scale. My butler offered me the use of his luggage scale which turned out to be him hefting the suitcases and declaring both well under 50#. Nope.
  4. So sorry for your loss. Agree that cruises are healing. I too lost DH suddenly (given 3-6 months, gone in 3 weeks). There’s just something about cruises that indeed bring peace. Still true for me even 10 years later.
  5. So rude to take more than one book at a time! Bringing books to donate on my Nov. 2 Reflection cruise. Think I’ll wait a couple days to bring them to the library.
  6. Yay! So excited for a new Charla adventure! 🥂🍾🍸🚢 And Happy Birthday to Jeremy!
  7. OK, my breakfast delivered by the butler has always been from the door hanger menu. I did have one complication years ago. Ordered Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. They forgot the eggs. 😂
  8. In my 2023 RS cruises I’ve had unlimited laundry. (Confirmed with the butler at the beginning of each cruise. Could indeed be a “rule” stretch.) Apparently the 2x rule started when some abused the laundry amenity by including laundry from friends in other cabins. Back to Sky Suites: Not knowing when room service will arrive (promptly or 30-45 min) is inconvenient when I need to be on time for a shore excursion. Breakfast from the butler has always been on time.
  9. Very nice pictures! Looking forward to your review. Will be on Silhouette in February.
  10. Our very first Celebrity cruise was a Summit PH in 2002. A special treat.
  11. I look forward to your feedback. Corner aft is a favorite spot for me so I would love to be shown I’m worrying for no good reason. And I can accept “something less than the best.”
  12. After watching Zach’s YouTube video there’s no way I’d ever book a Sky Suite with a “butler team” instead of a dedicated butler. That’s a shame because the corner aft Sky Suites are lovely.
  13. I like to meet and introduce myself to the senior officers. I wear a mask because of the crowd and don't get my picture taken. (I run away from cameras.) Not a Zenith. Maybe someday, maybe not.
  14. Jim, thanks so much for your review. Fun and informative as always. And the pictures! Seems that Ponant is not my cup of tea, but I look forward to any review of yours regardless of the line. I think you should try Silversea so I can decide if I’ll like it. 😎
  15. Will be VERY interested in following your future Cunard cruise. Your reviews are always informative and entertaining. Just plain fun.😎
  16. I tried to make a dining reservation. Thought maybe you could sneak in for lunch or afternoon tea. Nope. Have to be a guest. Looks lovely.
  17. She did the same for me when I was shipped to Covid Jail. My favorite maitre d’.
  18. Thank you for your review. Just had my first Alaskan cruise in June (RT from Seattle). Weather wasn’t good, but still enjoyed the glaciers and whales. Had two good balcony days, wrapped up in four blankets, warm as toast. But couldn’t sit out in the rain. Had sunshine in Ketchikan of all places (usually rains constantly) and Skagway. Had two tours cancelled including a helicopter trip to walk on a glacier. Considered booking the same cruise again to try for the helicopter tour again until I read someone’s comment that in six trips to Alaska, his helicopter tour was cancelled every single time. Should note that my other cancelled tour (seaplane to Taka lodge) was replaced with small boat whale watching led by a scientist, my favorite activity of the entire cruise. So I’ll try for a helicopter tour again, but a different cruise with a land portion seems ideal. Should have lots of highlights. I’ll be following with interest.
  19. Fantastic view and a porthole window. The porthole really brightens up the room. Booked this suite several times. Only stubbed my toe on The Pole once. I like the idea of fairy lights.🧚‍♀️
  20. Didn’t know what the big deal was until we did full transits years ago. First Mercury, then Infinity. Absolutely loved it. (I did my homework and read “Path between the Seas” beforehand.) In recent years have had three bookings cancelled but I’m determined to cruise there again. Love longer cruises and Sea Days. No Edge class for me, want to transit the old locks, look more interesting than the new. BTW have done the partial transit Shore Ex twice. Enjoyed the first one, the second was just dreadful. Not booking again.
  21. Thanks so much for your thoughtful response. It’s given me the nudge I needed to start looking for my PH. No more “some day”. I’m glad your “first” cruise is with loved ones. I sailed alone and vividly remember wanting to say “Look at that!” and no one to hear me. It’s so true that no one knows what tomorrow will bring. DH was gone three weeks after his cancer diagnosis. ”To making it count!” 🍸
  22. Our very first Celebrity cruise was in the Summit PH, a special treat. It was magical. DH has been gone 10 years. I plan on sailing in a Millennium class PH again. (I’d actually prefer pre-refurb just for nostalgia.) I’ll toast DH on the amazing veranda, our favorite hangout. I’ll be solo, but that’s OK.
