My cruise is not till 23 June but I need to settle on one inthe next two weeks as I have.a Birhday ad the price will go up even more.

    Cheers Carole

There are some companies like TID that have a list of 40 or so pre existing conditions they cover (many of which are very minor like acne, vitamin b12 deficiency or bunions). I doubt they would cause any issues travelling. They don’t consider any other conditions at all. Most insurance companies don’t cover if if a parent in a nursing passes away. So I’m not covered if anything happens to my 95 year old dad and I need to either cancel or return early from a holiday.

I find that finding the correct insurance and reading though to find out what they do and most importantly don’t cover is more difficult than booking a cruise or holiday.

Good idea. There are some crooks in the car hire business. Always check fine print such as not covered for single car accident (Tas) not covered for driving between dusk and Dawn (Uluru)

Very true, have you looked at the reviews on product review ?  I always read between the lines and after many years of getting reviews for anything I am interest in purchasing  Covermore reviews win the prize.

I had a claim with Covermore a few years ago. We were on a driving holiday through Europe and we were stopped in traffic due to a major car accident and couldn’t get to our prebooked hotel accomodation by nightfall. I had booked through a TA and I found out the hotel was very expensive. When I got back home I checked what Covermore required and they wanted print or electronic details of the accident. Thankfully I had purchase a local newspaper with the accident details. Covermore paid out minus the excess without any issues.

My thoughts go out to you. 💘 I have had four melanomas. The first one more than 25 years ago was advanced (I am lucky on that one), but the others were picked up much earlier. During those years, I have had three-monthly checkups.

How do you go getting cover for melonama with the Credit Card travel insurance?

Unfortunately, it appears all the companies are wanting medical screening. I have spent the past couple of days searching for domestic TI and all I have found needed medical screening. I have now purchased a policy with 1Cover which was a reasonable price compared to others. My husband has heart issues So of course the price goes up.

It also looks like all companies now have a excess. When I previously took out a domestic policy when travelling to Tassie there was no excess.

We have decided not to cruise this year so have booked a trip to Cairns for ten days in July/August. I have been looking at domestic travel insurance to cover us in case we have to cancel, particularly for Covid cover.

Usually I have only ever taken domestic travel insurance to cover loss of luggage etc so has not cost us very much.

I am surprised that all the travel insurance poliices I have looked at include medical screening for each person on the policy. Has that always been the case for domestic policies or is new because of Covid? As medical is not covered because we have Medicare, I wonder why it is required.

That doesn’t seem right. Maybe call a few to confirm.

We're fine here Les thanks. We are near the Nepean, but not in any danger. My Mum lives in a retirement village a lot closer to the river ( close to the Panthers Leagues Club) & some in the nearby area  there were evacuating yesterday. We are keeping an eye on it & will bring her here if needed.

Hope all works out for your daughter.

    Stay safe all!

Does your mum live in The Royce?

  9. I went to a Market Research group recently. The NSW State Government are considering doing away with stamp duty on property purchases. They will instead bring in a property tax based on the value of a property which can be paid off in a lump sum or quarterly like council. If quarterly is chosen and the property is sold the buyer will continue to pay property tax.
