  1. Sad. Truly sad. I've never had a "real" omelet on a Princess ship. Then again, what passes for hash browns is also pathetic. The "hash browns" at McDonald's are better.
  2. I substitute Bourbon. Much better than the stupid desserts. As for cake...Bah! (The best "cake" is PIE!)
  3. 100 Mile An Hour Tape...
  4. Inside Info: Princess is installing a dunk tank at PE and JP will be the one on the hot seat.
  5. Burning Question: How much should I tip if I ask for salted butter??? 🙄
  6. I take it this is in response to the use of the term "Duck Tape". The original item actually was named Duck Tape for the fact that it was made of "canvas duck" cloth. The more modern term Duct Tape is a weird misnomer as the tape is not rated as something to actually use for duct work.
  7. That's the only one I've seen listed for sale on Princess. For a NA beer I would vastly prefer Clausthaler but I don't believe it's an option.
  8. Coral as it's the only one of the group that can sail the old locks. Having done the old locks twice and the new locks once I definitely prefer the old locks and can't imagine having my first time through the canal being in the new locks.
  9. On our recent Australia/New Zealand cruises we were horrified to find they were still running British Invasion and Stardust. Really??? Those have to be the two oldest shows in the Princess repertoire. It was laughable that the CD was promoting Grand Princess as "the only place you wil get to see these shows!" No kidding. The other ships have newer productions.
  10. No Indoor Smoking - Period Volume Button For Announcements - I LOVE this one Kill Baked Alaska Parade (or at least the napkin waving) Bring back Ice Cream and Sorbet selections at dinner - not just at lunch (Wife's Request) Add Bulleit Rye to bar menus (My Request) Extend MDR breakfast until 10 AM (Great Suggestion!) Elite discount on Plus/Premier Discount for Plus/Premier if you don't use the gym or the desserts If the second person in the cabin is not of legal drinking age allow the other one to purchase Plus or Premier without forcing them to buy it for the underage cruiser 4:00 PM Milk and Cookies!!! (Loved that little benefit) Opt out for the stupid lanyard and medallion holder (PLEASE!) Personal wish list items: Teach Laundry Staff what "NO STARCH" means Install a "scent detector" that flags people who douse themselves with scent and then fine them BAN Mark Villar as an "entertainer"!!! (Why is this clown following us?) Keelhaul JP and put the video on youtube Other comments: On our last cruise our door couldn't be closed without slamming. Very annoying and Princess didn't care. Eucalyptus Scented Items Reek Shower Curtain Doesn't Bother Me At All
  11. That was my plan for our upcoming cruise until I read a number of posts from people saying they were required to have the "card" with them. It's easy to print out so I'm taking a copy of my "extra" $500 gift card with me when we board in a few days. It's really a very small thing to do for peace of mind. (I also have it as a pdf and as a jpg on my phone.)
  12. Remember: You can always go back to the dining room later - as long as it's still open - and simply have another dessert. Some folks skip dessert to go to a show and then come back later. There's no "rule" saying you can't visit the dining room more than once per evening. 😉
  13. One should keep track of their account while onboard. It's extremely easy to do with the app. I check every day and it takes almost no time at all. Getting an erroneous charge fixed while onboard is simple. Doing it once one has disembarked could be problematic.
  14. Odd... I have a Leatherman that lives in my Dopp Kit. I don't even think about it and it's been in that bag on pretty much every cruise we've taken. The knife blade is about the same length as the one on the Gerber. (I had to look up what a Gerber Dime is...) I've never given it a second thought...
  15. Well... Since I live in the US and am embarking in the US it would be nice if the app could match the Personalizer that says: I don't know why I should be surprised by crappy coding in the Princess app...
  16. Today is March 31st. We embark on April 3rd. The app says "2 DAYS UNTIL EMBARKATION". Uhhh.... No. The 3rd is 3 days from today. 🤔
  17. Like I said above in post #35 I use the "snip" function of Windows and just snip the image of the card. I then paste it into a Word document and that's what my TA gets. He calls Princess (which I could do on my own but I have him do it) and he gives them my booking info and the card numbers and pins. They apply the cards just like cash. As I booked my flights using EZ Air my booking shows the full amount of the cruise plus flights and he has no difficulty simply applying the cards to the full amount.
  18. We board Discovery Princess on April 3rd. I just scrolled quickly through the app and these are the movies I saw listed for MUTS: The Marvels The Creator Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Avatar Black Adam Top Gun: Maverick My Big Fat Greek Wedding Wonka Missing Belfast Wonder Woman 1984 Dirty Dancing Fast X A Man Called Otto The Litte Mermaid (2023) A Haunting in Venice Elvis Jurassic World: Domination Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness The Color Purple (2023) Barbie
  19. Unlimited Specialty Dining = Disaster. What a horrendously stupid idea.
  20. When you buy the cards through AARP (they are actual Princess Cruises cards) you receive an email with a link. You click on the link and it takes you to the web page with the card. At that point I not only choose the "Print" option (I print to PDF and save it on my computer) I also use the "snip" function in Windows to outline the card and save it as a jpg. The card has a long number as well as a PIN. I always immediately go to the Princess site where I can check the balance to make sure all is well with the card. When I used them to pay for a cruise I could have emailed them to our TA but, instead, I printed them out and took them to his office as it's really close to our home. He called Princess and applied them to the balance of our cruises and flights. I have an "extra" $500 card that I have printed out and will be taking on our upcoming cruise. I'll take it to Customer Service and have it applied as on board credit. As it will be "paid" OBC it will be completely refundable and any balance that I don't use on the cruise will be refunded. The cards are available through AARP in $100 and $500 denominations and look like this:
  21. If there are only two of you run. Get a cabin that can't accommodate 4 people. You will have beds on the walls that take up a bunch of space. I will never sail in one of these cabins. On the Princess site change the setting from Any to 4 and don't book a cabin that is highlighted.
  22. Many thanks to all who responded. I think I have my answer now so I will ask the mods to close this thread so it doesn't show up again 2 years later.
  23. It might depend on the particular ship. Not all Princess ships are the same... We have stayed in Caribe Deck balcony cabins on a number of ships. On the Grand Class they have an extra large balcony but on the Royal Class they have dinky little balconies. I don't know if a Riviera Deck cabin would be different from ship to ship but it may be important.
  24. I guess I could ask the officers point blank at the Meet & Greet. With over 150 cruise passengers in attendance I wonder what the answer would be...
  25. The only issue with asking for a second entree is that the meals are already plated and you are quite likely to get the entire meal a second time. The server doesn't care and will keep bringing you food as long as you ask for it. We have been seated at shared tables a number of times where a table mate asked for a second entree. (One used to be able to ask for a second lobster tail but the last time I did that I got the full meal and now I'm pretty sure Princess has started charging extra for that particular item.)
