  1. It means that I have chosen to prepay the Daily Service Charge.
  2. On the Escape there are also a few "sideways" cabins on deck 9, and a bit more on decks 13 and 14.
  3. Oh, absolutely. If it is regular casual og smart casual "summer dresses", then I often end up using them 1-2 evenings on board (like you say yourself, it is just for a few hours each time) and after that probably one time ashore at daytime. I never learn from my own experience though in this matter - I always bring too many outfits on a cruise even though everything is "only casual or smart casual" (often plan on using a different outfit every evening, plus at least different tops/t-shirts/summer dresses each day when ashore - and end up using the "favorites" several times, take use of my free Latitude laundry bags and ALWAYS bring back home some clothing that I didn't even wear once during the cruise). 😄
  4. I always book directly through NCL, and when I receive the booking confirmation the included promotional perks are listed there as well, usually on page two of the confirmation (just above the "Important information"-section - please see screenshot below. I don't know if you receive that type of confirmation also when you book your cruise through a travel agent.
  5. If I remember correctly, the Gem Haven Courtyard has some type of "retractable" glass roof, that they close if the weather is not "nice". But I am wondering if you are not actually thinking about the courtyard area but the larger Haven sundeck area....?
  6. If I am not happy (for whatever reason ) with the food I get served, then I just POLITELY explain why and ask for something else instead.
  7. Small items can easily be washed in the bathroom sink (or bathtub if you have that in your cabin/suite). There is a clothing line for laundry in the bathroom as well, above the shower or bathtub).
  8. It was the same offer when we were on the Escape last month. One note about Food Republic though - the restaurant hostess there said that most dishes are large enough to share, and that it would be enough for us to use only 1 voucher there as each voucher includes 4 dishes, and then share the four different dishes. And then use the voucher for the second person on a different day - again sharing. We tried that, and the four dishes were enough for the two of us as dinner. So very happy with the hostess suggesting for us to do that....
  9. I had a cruise in August where I had a couple of bids for Haven suites pending, and shortly before the cruise I received e-mails stating that I had been "outbid" on my bidding offers (I don't remember the exact wording, but I deifinitely reveived notification about needing to offer a higher bid if I wanted to still take part in the bidding process)....
  10. We were on the Escape in August, and was told that the $50 p.p. non-refundable OBC that everyone on that cruise received due to a cancelled port on the itinerary, could NOT be used for CruiseNext certificates (and not for the daily service charge).
  11. Well, there is a Starbucks in Rome and MANY in Athens (and even a couple in Pireaus, where the ship will be docked if you have Athens on your itinerary), plus on several of the Greek islands. I am very sorry to have to inform you about this......! 😉
  12. Note to myself: If I book an inside or oceanview cabin for a future cruise on the Norwegian Prima, remember to NOT put in any bids on upgrade to balcony cabin....! 🤔
  13. Here is another link to a website that shows photos taken on board the Prima at the beginning of last month - including several photos of the waterslides going "through" stateroom balconies: https://thepointsguy.co.uk/news/norwegian-prima-photos-first-look/ Here is one of the photos from that website, and I would NOT be very happy if that was MY balcony it was going through....
  14. Hmmm - I thought ALL covid tests (both PCR and Antigen) had to be done "far back into the nasal cavity".....? At least that is how it is done here in Norway.
  15. https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/NCL/
  16. Good idea! I always save the booking confirmations/invoices from my cruises that I receive by email before the cruise, so all itineraries are easily accessed several years later - if needed. 😉
  17. It has absolutely nothing to do with type of browser or device etc. It is the official web-address www.ncl.com that automatically redirect you to the "local" ncl-page instead of the American one. It has been like that for years, and as I live in Europe and for various reasons prefer to book my NCL cruises according to the US "prices, rules and regulations" instead of through NCL in Europe, I always have to do the following: I browse the NCL Europe website to find cruise itineraries I might be interested in. I then go to an American cruise website called cruise dot com where the prices listed usually are exactly the same as eg. NCL are offering on their American website. If I there find the price to be a good one, then I email my PCC at NCL who is based in the US (I have had the same PCC since 2008, so long before NCL started dividing their webistes in to different geographical "markets") and ask here to book it for me. It is absolutely still a bit annoying to have to do it in this rather complicated way, but luckily I have a PCC who respond very quickly to my e-mails, so I am OK with it. I did book a couple of cruises directly on the NCL EU webpage a few years ago, but the service from the PCC's I then were assigned were so bad compared to what I am used to from my US based PCC, so I decided to go back to do it the more complicated way... BTW; the European webpage I automatically get redirected to is in English (I live in Norway). And there is not any places on the frontpage where I can change the language to something else than English, if I wanted to. But as the phone number for NCL that is listed there is a Nowegian number, it is obvious that the website is for customers living in Norway.
  18. I think you misunderstood my intentions, as I may not have been clear enough about my post replying to the frase "Would they need to do other test for getting off ship for example in France or Belgium?".
  19. I actually specifically asked about OBC on our last cruise (Escape, beginning of August), and was told that as some of the perks were now back (eg. Latitude party and wine tasting), they don't give OBC for missed perks anymore.
  20. And as NCL gets their "travel requirements by country" from the local authorities and NCL sometimes are a bit slow in updating their reiquirements page, even better to go to the official source for information about various ports on your itinerary as long as they are located within the EU/Schengen area: https://reopen.europa.eu/en
  21. For some of us who cruise often, it is actually nice to meet again people you have met on previous cruises - INCLUDING the officers. It is always nice to be "recognized" and remembered... What I actually don't get - is why you felt the need to post your comment here in the first place, since you obviously don't care.... 😉
  22. There is a reason why NCL offers both Haven suites (and regular suites/regular cabins) WITH CONNECTING STATEROOMS "for the kids" on several of their ships. They are "created" especially with families in mind.... On the NCL European pages (which is the NCL page I automatically get rerouted to, as I live in Europe), this is listed regarding minors in connecting staterooms: Company policy states that on itineraries that include a port in the United States of America, Canada or China guests under 21 years of age must be accompanied in the same, connecting, or side by side stateroom by a guest who is 21 years of age or older at the time of embarkation (staterooms opposite of each other are not applicable under this policy). For all other cruises this regulation applies to all guests under 18 years of age with the exception of guests who are citizens of the United States of America, Canada or China. https://www.ncl.com/fr/en/cruise-faq/requirements
  23. Now that we are getting a bit more "post-covid" when it comes to the restrictions, the attendance of officers from NCL at the Meet & Greet is depending on the view at M&Gs and CruiseCritic from the management on board. Some of them just don't care that much as others do... At the M&G on the Gem end of last month, just a couple of "assistant" officers attended. On the Escape beginning of this month pretty much ALL senior officers attended (with the exception of "el capitano" himself). And the general manager (aka "hotel director") expressed on several occasions that he found CruiseCritic and M&G's to be "important".
  24. It was when I was onboard earlier this month - great (new) "trio" that were very talented, and one of them (a woman, don't remember names) simply AMAZING!
