  1. Le bistro steak has been a miss for me, charged 10$ even with no foie; it just isnt tasty meat anymore. lobster thermidor has always been old and fishy; I try it every couple of years to see if improved and it hasnt. Sad since love veuve and not the lebistro menu. lacucina for their filet, better tasting and best on ship lately also love their salads... Agree MDR monte cristo sandwich at lunch and short rib paradelle pasta FAV dish on ncl...day 5, so look forward to that...
  2. Disembarked from jade last month, ran out of pommery rose and they tried to pour kool rose, yuck! Days of decent champagne may be over unless in leBistro...Current NCL premium plus states their own brand of rose champagne (is kool here to stay??) Just when I was learning to tolerate the pommery rose, more downgrades.. For those that like wine, duckhorn merlot only in dinning room/restaurants, decoy cab elsewhere....unless haven bar? The days of vueve have sailed away.... Current ncl premium plus info: With the Premium Plus Beverage Package, elevate your cruise experience with our widest beverage selection both on board and at Great Stirrup Cay. Here’s what you get: All top-shelf cocktails & spirits All beer, red wine, white wine and our exclusive brand of rosé Champagne by the glass Select premium bottles of wine with dinner including our exclusive brand of rosé Champagne and 40% off all other bottles Unlimited soft drinks and juices Unlimited still & sparkling bottled water All Starbucks® coffee & speciality drinks Energy drinks
  3. Hello! I thought the free at sea dinning offered more than platinum coupon. Such as appetizer, soup or salad and main course and dessert. While the coupon only offered app, main course and dessert. The servers were a bit strict with platinum vs free at sea dinning in my experience... I would use coupon for teppanyaki, food republic and Q..save my FS dinning credits for La cucina and cagneys...hope everyone has had better experiences with their coupons/credits...
  4. Hello! I travel solo frequently and book the specialty restaurants as soon as I can; since have had problems with dinning ability. Prefer 7pm dinning and a lot of times when tried to book onboard, they are full or only have 9pm or later. So book now, 2 person or sometimes I will book 4 if that is all available. You can change it once onboard to 1, at least you were able to reserve a restaurant you wanted at desired time. Ps have never been successfully seated at specialty dinner (without reservation) same day; either too full or for 9pm or later...with the free specialty dinning it fills up fast.....good luck!
  5. Thank you Birdtravels! You have been a valuable resource and really enjoy your reviews. Have different rooms; since booked last minute...enjoy your travels and thank you again bird...
  6. Thank you! Have 2 reservation numbers, and a friend joining me on 2nd cruise. Thought maybe could save first cruise coupons, then use on 2nd cruise..Wasn't sure if coupons had dates, I am sure ncl tracks usage and wouldn't want to be charged full dining price..
  7. Newly platinum and doing b2b. Can I save my coupons and use them in the second segment/cruise? Or, do I need to use the 2 dinner coupons on each cruise....thanks all for your help and advice...
  8. Hello! Hope have smooth sailing...had a wine question. What is the availability of wine for premium plus? Do they have silverado available and pommery? Thanks...deciding to purchase plus or stop in ny for wine...
  9. I feel sorry for the stewards, notice not as many smiles or friendly conversation as in the past. I do not need daily cleaning, especially, since I see how busy and tired they seem. It just takes a minute to pick up after yourself and keep cabin somewhat tidy. I am ok hanging and reusing my towel (just like at home) since my hands are clean or I have freshly showered...They can empty trash or exchange towels if needed. As for dishes and cups, I can return those myself, since brought into my cabin or call room service to collect. Instead of leaving them out and causing an obstacle for someone to trip over in the narrow hallways. However, since rarely see cabin steward nowadays I do tip less.
  10. Hello, Considering premium plus for wine on upcoming sailing, any current wine lists available? Any problems with availability of listed wines? Thank you!!
  11. Thank you for the posts and menus. Is it true the wine bar still offers veuve champagne by the glass? Is it included with premium plus?? Thank you!
  12. Star is awful...seemed like another company than previous ncl ships. Food was terrible and wine selection poor. entertainment? Room old and not wecoming..public areas need refreshing..Hard working, sweet people on board. felt for staff, they did give more personal service than bigger ships, even when crowded.*handmade cocktails, yum).,,,sailed june 23, did spirit prior may23 very nice, getaway after july23, food and entertainment great! service was overwhelmed... so unsure of ncl cuts or is this a forgotten older small ship...
  13. Ncl names wine brands on the promotional material, then doesn't offer them. I understand supply chain issues; however, do not be specific on what is offered; then state you are out. When some bottles are available at le bistro only when dinning. They have plenty of comparable wine they can substitute and choose not to. Was on spirit in april, incredibly pleased with the plus selection. Wanted to warn others who may be expecting the wines listed...surprised how much things has changed in 6 weeks... Yes have tried and will try other cruiselines...the premium + was an edge ncl had.....
  14. The wine selection advertised is not onboard, the less expensive (under 15$) is readily available and getting restocked. Only red available (main dining room at dinner) was decoy and something else on the lower wine scale. Sweet warm pommery rose champagne, only champagne on board unless dinning at le bistro (why only there??) Ncl false advertised. That is illegal in many countries. Their overwhelmed, sweet hard working staff have to do extra work/time apologizing for corporate poor decisions. Please fellow cruisers that like wine; cancel premium plus package and be prepared to bring own or pay highly inflated captive wine prices. As a customer, I feel cheated and made the wrong decision for cruising with NCL. Also, food quality has deteriorated so much (since november) that I do not have to worry about gaining weight, that's a good thing! But wasting a lot of food since not very good/edible..Not smart for food budget/cost and the environment. Will look elsewhere for next vacation 3rd cruise in 7 months and planning on more...
  15. I was on the spirit last month (april) out of sydney; everyone was vaccinated and had to test 24 hrs prior to boarding. I caught covid onboard. It was mild. However; due to other pasengers and crew safety; thought I should report my positive self test. The medical center really tried to discourage me to go there. They kept saying they consider me negative until I pay a lot of fees for consultation and tests. I could move freely and do whatever I wanted. I did not think that was right. So I went down to medical; they did consultation and pcr test. I refused chest xray and other treatments; because those would be unnecessary for my symptoms. You can say no to dr that want tests you are not comfortable with. He prescribed antibiotics which cdc and who do not recommend for covid and Tylenol. At first I said no to antibiotics; then he was going to have me sign a form saying I refused medical treatment; far from it! so instead of arguing, I paid for antibiotics ($620 total medical bill) and went back to my balcony cabin; were I quarantined for 5 days until tested negative. It was a tough 5 days, seeing fiji and south pacific from my cabin was sad. Once tested negative and released; had to wear MASK indoors and out; except when eating for 5 days. I was one of the only people onboard with a mask and felt self conscious, covid cootie person. Something to consider: The room service menu is very limited. Since I reported myself; had free room service and when main dinning room was open could order off their menu. I spoke to others that visited medical center; it is a mixed bag. Glad there for life saving emergencies. it was a dream trip; however, would of been much more comfy at home with covid. Been vaccinated/boosted and since then have caught covid twice on cruises(each time in balcony cabin for fresh air and mindful of hand washing/touching)....healthy and no underlying health conditions.
  16. This rose only is BRUTal. Serious enough to consider NOT upgrading to +. Duty fees and shopping/finding wine at disembarkment port; plus lugging (and breaking) bottles usually deters me from byob. + past champagne/wine selection was a reason I still liked and chose ncl. Now with food quality/selection sliding (especially specialty restaurants) and limited choice of champagne/wine; ncl is losing money sending away loyal customers...
  17. Wow, did not expect such responses. Boarded spirit a few days ago, alas no atrium bar; but spinnakers opens at 10:00am sea days. Plenty of glasses have been served, and seems readily available...stuck with + instead of looking & carrying on wine...Why I started this post, on epic in november the champagne was only available in mdr and martini bar after 4:30pm; and I prefer to do champagne brunch/snack days at sea or rainy ports. Champagne is a enhancement to my vacation...sparking seems to (have a) bite. Good news MDR service was good with glasses and even better with bottle at dinner(I chose red for dinning and a glass of bubbly to start)they left bottle on table and allowed me to take rest to room...nice. Premium + red selection is not as good, but drinkable and worth not having to haul bottles on board that are cumbersome or can break... Thank you again for everyone's advice and insight..What makes a great cruise is truly up to you and nice to have some real information for vacation expectations....thanks and happy cruising everyone...cheers🍷
  18. Is Veuve Clicquot available in atrium bar??Boarding soon, know there has been bar menu changes, adore the atrium bar (but not previous bubbly selections.) Thanks everyone for their advice and insight....
  19. Thank you! Was hoping not to travel with too much, nor suffer if quality selection is not available readily onboard, dream vacation needs nice 🍷
  20. Hello, thinking of upgrading to premium+ for wine; sailing 28march. Does anyone know availability of champage at bars & restaurants? Also, enjoyed the emblem cab by the glass; does anyone have a current wine list; including by the glass? Looks like wine list and premium+ opts have changed since nov 22 on epic. Try to decide byowine&champs or upgrade bev plan...thank you!
  21. Thanks...hopefully be able to squeeze into one of them on this cruise...or else be flashing everyone from balcony..jk! Seriously mindless packing this time, and too cold for my nice summer robes...
  22. Hello! Packed poorly. Will be on epic, does club balcony rooms have robes for guests? How about slippers? Thanks!
  23. Thanks for advice everyone, had two nights at same restaurant. Will redo and book one onboard. Happy 🛳
