  1. Loved the review. Thanks for taking the time! We will be on the Ascent in May.
  2. Thanks for your review. We will be on the Ascent in May and I can't wait!
  3. My husband lost his iPhone on our last cruise in November. He didn't miss it for about 30 minutes. He thinks he left it on a slot machine in the casino. He went down to Guest Relations, and there it was! He had to unlock it in front of them to show it was his. He later told me that also in the "box" was a huge purse! Now how could anyone loose a huge purse? LOL
  4. We have sailed in Sky Suites for several years now, and have two booked for 2024. However I just recently booked a sunset veranda for spring of 2025. We will eat in a couple of specialty restaurants during that cruise. Hopefully our selection will be satisfactory. We have not eaten in the MDR for many, many cruises.......and I am not an Oceanview restaurant person. But times are changing.
  5. We board next Tuesday, the 24th, for our 12 night southern Japan cruise on the Millennium! I'll try and post a report when I'm back. This cruise will be very port intensive. We have a few ship excursions (using OBC), and others through Tripadvisor and toursbylocals. Only two sea days. We are leaving Friday and spend a couple of days in Tokyo. It will be our first trip to Japan.
  6. Wow, what an awesome and detailed report.....especially in the eyes of a first-time cruiser! I loved reading it! Thanks for taking the time to post.
  7. When we were on a cruise a few years ago, I recall ordering some escargot (love it), but my husband would not even try. However he did like the buttery garlic sauce that they "swim" in, and said it would be good to dip bread in. The next night in Luminae, the maitre d' (yes, maitre d', not the waiter) brought him a small bowl full of the yummy sauce and a lot of crusty bread! He loved it! On another cruise, one evening in the Luminae, there was nothing on the menu that we really liked or wanted. The waiter had come to "know" us and our likes. So he said he would bring a spicy pasta for my husband and a seafood dish for me. We didn't even ask ....... but everything was delicious. We have always been cordial and appreciative towards the waitstaff, never demanding or rude. It goes a long way......we have always had wonderful experiences in the Luminae......and the main reason we book sky suites.
  8. For us, it's eating in Luminae, and relaxing in the Retreat Lounge. We like the quieter, more peaceful atmospheres.
  9. Excited to sail her in May 2024. I will look for reviews later in the year.
  10. Love all the photos.....brought back a lot of good memories for me! Thanks for sharing.
  11. Love the photos. We did a similar trip back in 2018. Plans to return next year. Can't wait. Love your report!
  12. Your photos are wonderful! Thanks for this great report.
  13. Yes, we are using ToursbyLocals, and this guide has a 5 star rating. There are public restrooms at each of our stops. Not for sure about snacks at each stop but I guess at least one has snacks/drinks. I will do more research on that. I might get with my group and see if they want to leave 30 minutes earlier for a time cushion.
  14. Have a great trip! We have never been to Bermuda. I am anxious to hear how calm (or not) the open seas are. Hubby gets a little seasick....
  15. It's a private tour, not ship's excursion. We wanted to see the most important sites on this island and in a small group.
  16. Yes, our little group doing this private tour has specific things we want to see. Lunch was on our original plan, but do to time constraints, travel miles, and not wanting to eliminate any stops, we told our guide we might can get a box lunch from the ship. She thought that was a great idea. The stop is Jeju Island, South Korea.
  17. We have a private tour planned for one of our stops, and the tour guide said with our intense itinerary, there will not be time for lunch. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Celebrity making a boxed lunch to take on a tour? I know we can ask once we are on board, but I'm curious if anyone has done this? Also if it helps, we are in the Retreat, so I'm hoping maybe our butler, or Luminae might help. Thanks.
  18. My husband and I were on the Apex May 2022, and we ate in Eden, but if I recall, we ate fairly early. It may have been 6:30ish. I do not recall any noise or loud music. We had a most enjoyable meal. The restaurant wasn't even full at that time.
  19. Following along......love this detailed review. Please let me know if the seas get rough at any point as I am curious. Have a great trip!
