  1. If you back that up to "hover over the ship" I've been on relatively few cruises compared to a lot of people here, and my answer would be three times. Although one was technically while I was asleep (no announcement) and I only saw bits of the other two. But more common than you would think.
  2. they do have studios and studio balconys which are designed for solos
  3. Pretty sure there's beef on the menu every night. But if it makes you feel better to pretend there isn't, have at it
  4. most people would not dare bring suit against a corporation if losing would put them in debt for the rest of their lives. No matter how strong their case was
  5. Lots of people who have never cruised think it's absolutely horrible that the poor child fell out of a window when her grandfather was just holding her up to tap on it and that there never should have been an open window in the "children's play area" They have no idea the effort it took for him to hold her outside of that window, how far he had to reach to do it. Those people will be on the jury
  6. I think it's more important they don't "throw them a few bucks"
  7. I think most of us would have been young enough we would have no memory of it. We rarely ate out when I was young, but I would still say I had both pizza and chinese when I was too youngto recall.
  8. I ran into that a lot when we were in Venice 10 years ago. More the very low toilet with no seat than just a hole in the floor. We actually had to leave a restaurant we had just been seated up because I required an actual toilet with a seat.
  9. not really. In a land based restaurant portion sizes are very carefully related to menu price. Cost control rules.
  10. What are the "free at sea" gratuities if they are not the standard room attendant/wait staff gratuity?
  11. you say this like Sysco products are all prepared and/or frozen. As someone who has authorized payment on Sysco invoices for years, I can assure you they sell fresh beef and poultry and seafood and eggs and pasta and rice and spices and...
  12. have you asked these questions on the HAL board?
  13. I'm in the love it group. The beef entree is amazing
  14. The Alilaguna Vaporetto is another option. It worked well for us. Admit this was about a decade ago.
  15. I've never sailed Princess, but typically at dinner cruise main dining rooms will offer one each of beef, chicken, seafood, pasta or rice and something else (pork, lamb maybe duck or veal) You should be fine.for non fish options.
  16. It's been about a decade since I went, but I would highly recommend a private driver/tour. We had relatively uncrowded time at the Acropolis before the the large tour buses arrived. Well worth it.
  17. Congrio on Celebrity several years ago Had no idea I ate eel umtil a few days later when one of my tablemates filled me in.
  18. As far as the cruise line is concerned, a FCC might as well be a refund. They can only fill that cabin for that cruise once. Once the ship sails, the opportunity is lost. If they refund the fare it's as if the cabin was never sold. If they issue a FCC, it's as if they were paid for one out of two sailings since this cruise was "paid for" but the next one is not. In the hotel business we were much more likely to make exceptions if we still had an opportunity to sell that room for the night in question.
  19. Don't think of the appetizers as courses in the traditional sense. Many are just a bite or two. It's not unusual to get 3/4 of the apps. Even if you allow your server to choose for you, don't be shy asking for something you think you might like.
  20. first for me include sea bass frogs legs escargot mussels seaweed salad probably others slipping my mind
  21. I would be willing to bet these were not people sending their children to yeshivas. Keeping kosher is not just "social" to them
  22. I think "horrifying" is a stretch for things like to go cups for coffee.
