  1. It's moot now that you've found the menus (congrats!), but I'm on Android so it appears the RCI app is a bit different between the platforms.
  2. That's interesting - our cruise isn't for three months yet I can see the menus for all three MDR's, all seven days of the cruise using the steps you mention above. I didn't have to select a specific cruise since we only have one booked at the moment.
  3. This is really a good option and something I had not previously considered for myself and DW, since medical and evacuation are our primary concern, like the OP. Thank you!
  4. With one exception, we've always used a TA for our cruises and the confirmations (initial booking and deposit, subsequent payment confirmation and final payment confirmation) always came directly from the TA, not the cruise line. That's our experience. I cannot answer the guarantee question as we've not done that in over 20 years.
  5. I've never used RCI gift cards are they are quite restrictive, but this is from the AARP web site, the RCI GC terms and conditions: "Certificate may not be used to obtain onboard credit or to settle any shipboard charges."
  6. Found it: traffic.houstontranstar.org Thanks!
  7. Unless there is a typo, that site you mention for transtar is a real estate investment company - nothing there about road conditions. Perhaps I've overlooked it?
  8. We are using Galveston Limo for our cruise this summer and dealing with them thus far has been very smooth. They do require a 20% non-refundable deposit.
  9. Our DD's TA was able to book five pax in a JS when the web site showed a capacity of five, even though she couldn't do it online. Granted, pax #5 was only one year old but it was booked nonetheless albeit (as others mention) under two separate reservations.
  10. I've not had that issue though I don't use 1Password. I'm guessing there is some sync issue between 1Password and the RCI/Celebrity systems (I further assume RCI and Celebrity share IT infrastructure).
  11. Anthem will reposition to Southampton in early May and when it does, the RCI app for your cruise should show the ship's time in England (GMT) and that's what you go by.
  12. I've no personal experience in this but have read here numerous times (and asked again for verification) that check-in opens at 12AM in the departure port time zone. So in your case that would be 12AM in Southhampton - unless for some reason non-U.S. departures do not adhere to that procedure. Hopefully someone here can clarify. ETA: See Biker19's reply. 🙂
  13. Thanks for confirming. Fortunately for me, we (AZ, or most of AZ anyway) stay on MST year round so we'll be two hours behind CDT by the time I have to start check-in.
  14. Thank you. In the absence of any other guidance, I was going to use the app date for arrival time selection and do the rest of the check-in later on the web site. It's been mentioned here several times recently that "midnight" is 12AM in the departure port time zone, not your local time zone (unless you live in the same time zone as the departure port). Is that incorrect? Currently, the app for my booking shows ship time as CST (Galveston) and I'm in MST (an hour earlier).
  15. Not sure I understand that, you may be correct but I'm not getting it (slow brain morning?). If, for example, the app shows check-in available on 4/1 but web site says available on 4/2, if a person logged in to the web site at 12AM departure port time on 4/2, wouldn't they be a day late since people using the app would have logged in at 12AM departure port time on 4/1 (and potentially gobbled up the early slots)? Maybe I just am not understanding. Sorry. ☚ī¸
  16. Something I've noticed on our upcoming booking is that there is a one day discrepancy between the app and the web site as to check-in availability (the app has the earlier date). Anyone else noticed this and if so (and you did check-in already), which date was correct?
  17. You might want to post this on the Florida Departures board, as well as search there for feedback on the company you mention. FWIW though, we've used Larry's Limo's in south Florida and have not been disappointed.
  18. It looks like an apparatus that might be used for cleaning balconies. I've seen worse and given it's size and where it's located in your photo, is it really a big issue?
  19. Yes, sorry, cable tie = zip tie. I'm just used to seeing them all the time back in my working days in IT infrastructure and they were called cable ties.
  20. One other thing that's been mentioned here recently, "midnight" is 12AM in your cruise departure port time zone, not your local time zone (unless you live in the same time zone as your departure port).
  21. Same here. I've been self-laminating the luggage tags for years and it works great though some folks likely feel it's a bit too much effort. I punch a hole in the top of the laminated tag and use a cable tie to attach it to the luggage just before leaving for the port. Never had a tag get torn or broken off during hand off to the porters and delivery to the cabin.
  22. True. On the app, you can skip all the other check-in info and go straight to the arrival time while doing the remainder of the check-in later either on the app or web.
  23. If you're on a laptop or desktop with a decent size monitor, you can go full screen with it and use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom. Works for me anyway. 🙂
  24. The most recent is from the 1/7/2024 sailing.
  25. I've seen the MDR menus on the RCI app for our cruise several months out but I don't know how accurate they are for our cruise.
