  1. Sailed on Reflection CS 1122 in Med last September, YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG!

Just off the Library near the elevator. FANTASTIC! Nalan was our Butler and she was outstanding! The balcony is angled so everything is coming at you.

Would book it again in a heart beat.

Was our second time on Reflection.

  2. We will be on the Getaway in January and sailing NCL for the first time. Was looking at the UDP. We always dine at specialty restaurants when on X and RCL since we are not MDR people.

We will be in Haven and I have read great reviews of the restaurant located in the Haven so I am sure we will dine there as we do in Blu on X. We want to also go to Illusionarium but not the fiirst night.

The UDP is $119 per person and that is not bad compared to X or RCL. I can't find what the cost is at each specialty restaurant to see if the per night fee added up on where we want to dine will be less than the over all $119.

  3. Was on Reflection Last month in the Med, Was our second time sailing her.

If you happen to pass by Michaels stick your head inside and say hi to Lenny for us! Tell him Barbie and Kevin say hi. He grew up in the Philadelphia area where we live.

I hope in the AM when the captain comes on he is hittimg the right switch for the speaker.Every mornng at 10 he would do his announcements and it came on in the cabin! That never happened before on X. After he was done the rest in other languages were not in the cabin.

Great ship, just the downside is the entertainment, the lounges are nice but no real shows.

    Safe cruising!

  4. Thanks for the post and Haven info.

Will be on the Getaway in January, first time on NCL, and will be in the Haven Aft Penthouse Suite.

All the info shared really helps.

Quik question, did you arrange your dining before boarding or did you book after through the Haven? Thanks

  5. We were on Reflection last month in the Mediterranian and it was our second time, first being in the Caribbean.

First time we booked an Aqua Suite and enjoyed it. never used the Spa but Blu was a great place to eat and having the water everyday was a great perk

Second time for the Med cruise my TA suggested why don't you book an Aqua Suite GTY? The price was right and we were guaranteed the suite. 4 days later we were upgraded to a Celebrity Suite! :D WOW! 10 days at sea and all the perks of the Celebrity Suite. We also kept the unlimited acces to the Persian Garden.

I am sold on taking the GTY Suite since you will get no less and may get way more! :)

  6. Radio:

    Ditto everyone's thanks for posting!

We stop in Nassau every year and never get off the ship, however in January we will be getting off the Getaway,

Reason......you showed a Hard Rock in one of your pics, I collect the hats from all over the world and for some reason did not know there was one in Nassau.

Is that just off the ship in town and close to walk to?

  7. Likely the BLU staff are unaware of those in GTY status that got a bump up, unless someone explained this unusual nuance to them on arrival the first time. They probably just look at the sea pass presented and room number, and don't bother to check further. I suspect had you at first said "we had an Aqua Guarantee but were assigned a different room du to lack of cabin for us - contact guest services to verify our eligibility for BLU" you'd have been accepted nightly without issue once Guest Services confirmed the rather unique arrangement.

Whereas the Persian gardens, has the V sticker to affix to any sea pass card who pays for it, they simply affix to your card as with anyone else without an AquaClass sea pass to verify identity.

Twice was enough for us, we dined at the the many other restaurants. Good info for others and future cruises. Thanks

  8. I've sailed a number of suites (CS, RS, PH), and never had this V sticker. I've also never used the persian gardens at all even with the free access in port coupon.

I've read about it here and there, perhaps part of a package or benefit of a group booking, maybe the poster was booked in AQ or AQ GTY and got upgraded to suite (and therefore still got the AQ perks they had booked), maybe someone bought the access as a gift. Maybe they were new to X and regulars on another line and X rolled out the perks as enticement. Or maybe X just made a mistake...

That may of been it. We did book Aqua suite GTY and was upgraded to the CS. However we did not have automatic access to Blu. We did eat there twice however because of suite status.

  9. Not sure what level suite is booked, but we just came off Reflection being in a Celebrity Suite. On our card was a sticker that had a V on it. Our Butler explained we could use the Persian Garden as much as we wanted. The V would get us in every time.

Now I have to say we did not use it beccause we were so busy on our Med cruise but as said was tod we had unlimited access.

  10. Boarding this "Live From"! We will be on Getaway end of January. Will be our first time on NCL, just returned from X Reflection in the Med. We are RCC and X cruisers too so looking forward to your observations.

I love the webcams! What type of cabin have you booked? Looking forward to dining reviews and entertainment.

    Safe and happy sailing! :)

  11. countess: The Indians are in the BVI. They are easy to get to during a land based trip, not so easy during a limited cruise day. ;)

Yes I know, All you need to do is get to Red Hook and take a charter. Yes we were on a land visit but took a charter one day to the Indians, Virgin Gorda Copper Island and back. Started at 9 AM and was back by 4.

Another trip was The Indians, Christmas Island, Foxes, Soggy Dollar and back.

I think the challenge is that most charters come back through St John for customs and if there are a lot in line you can get delayed.

  12. If you want a fantastic place to snorkel while in St Thomas go to a location called "The Indians" It is near the caves, another great spot. We have rented many Villas on St Thomas over the years, when there by ship we basically stay on board.

Took my Nephews to the Indians one year and when they hit the water came up gagging because their mouths opened up in amazement. They said it was an aquarium!! :p

I guarantee you can't go wrong! All charters know where it is.

  13. Just came off the Reflection a week ago sailing the Med. This was our second time sailing Reflection and ate in Tuscan twice both sailings. Murano is nice but our last experience was not that great for service. We did eat twice in Murano but after my wifes polite ripping of a new *****, they got thier act together the second night. It is smaller and if the large tables are filled the small tables, ie for two, receive very slow service.

Tuscan seating, as said, by the window is fantastic. We were there for sailaway when we left Messina and the lights twinkled as we left! If you sit by the window ask for center. The tables on the ends are by the kitchen and the other one is by the service center. Very Loud!

I also throw a big shout out for the Lawn Club. Was our second time there and it is fun. You can cook your own steak or build your own pizza. Very interactive if you want it to be. Our first sailing I cooked our steaks and then the team gave me the apron along with a signed menu. When we came back this time we had the menu and some of the team was still there (from January 2013) so they signed again ( they couldn't believe we still had it) and the new members signed. :)

    You can't go wrong! Enjoy.

  14. I had a butler in a suite and although he was nice and carried a phone with him, when I asked him about dinner reservations, he gave me the extensions for the specialty restaurants.

I'm booked in a standard balcony this time around as I didn't notice the benefit of having a butler and didn't need the extra space the suite brings this time around.

I see you are sailing on Relection soon. Just came off of the 10 day Mediterranian cruise in a Celeberity Suite. Nalan our butler from Turkey was out of this world! She was everything you would want in a butler and we are low maintanance. With that said she was always asking what she could do for us, brought us breakfast on time (we had private tours set up earlier) 6 AM. Always had a cheese tray with fruit and other meats for our cocktails at the end of a long day. When I had to call her phone it rang once and she was there.

I asked that we have plenty of ice and she had the steward fill two ice buckets and the champagne bucket! :D Not needed but she wanted it to be done right.

Nalan was the second butler we have had on X, the first was good but Nalan was the best!! :)

  15. SHIP: Reflection

    CABIN #: 1122

    DECK #: 10

    CLASS: GS

    AREA:

    BED NEAR: Seperate Bedroom

QUIET?: Very quite, just off library but the sliding glass door to hall blocked any noise

BALCONY VIEW: unobstructed and fantastic, double balcony and was slanted on the bump forward facing! What a view

    BALCONY SIZE: Double sized

    WIND A PROBLEM?:no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No problems! Plenty of room, balcony was a bonus. Cabin was just 20 steps from the elevator. I am sold on this cabin class!!

  16. Just returned from The Reflection and used OceanWave Tours in Santorini and just had a driver. George our driver was fantastic! Taking us to places that showed the stunning sights. I believe you only need a driver in Santorini. we had private tours at every stop and used guides with drivers in some but santorini only needs a good driver. If you use OceanWave ask for George, you will not be disappointed.

Mykonos to me was a DIY stop. Take the shuttle from the ship or there is a water taxi for 2 Euro if you dock. Walk the town, Vinice and the windmills. Enjoy a great lunch. Plenty to do and easy.

Hope this helps, have a great cruise. :)

  17. Just returned from The Reflection and the Greek Islands! The weather was fantastic and the seas so calm!!! It was the calmest waters I have ever seen. Coming out of Mykonos it was a lake and a few dolhpins breaking the water off the starboard side. Only time we have cruised the Mediterranian but September seems to be the best, 82-86 everyday with Mykonos a little humid.

Have a great cruise, I hope the memories are as good as we have brought back! :)

  18. Was in Mykonos last week on Reflection, was the only ship in. We docked and it was announced in the dailies that the ship was docking. Celebrity had buses going and coming to town. You can also take a sea bus just off the ship for 2 Euro one way and get dropped off right in town. Where the buses drop you off leaves you a little bit of a walk to town.

Great place, take time to have lunch on the water side and watch the people go by. The harbor and the little boats anchored are beautiful. I have to look at my pics to get the name of the place we ate at but it was great. If you would like it let me know. The people were great.

Trying to get back on east coast time! :p
