  1. We like #12 on the Rotterdam. Aft view.
  2. The sparkling wine that HAL provides in the Neptune Suites can best be held onto for the clearing of clogged drains.
  3. Last cruise in November on the Rotterdam I brought 2 bottles of good champagne. Went to the secondary station and gave them name and cabin number. Signed the slip and was never billed the $40. Appears to be pretty hit or miss.
  4. Rotterdam Lido pool has both.
  5. Unfortunately. I gave up on massages while on HAL a several years ago. The “deep tissue” treatments are a joke. Massage me like I need it, not like I’m a frail 80 year old. MHO.
  6. You’ll need to provide your card each time. Sounds like a real pain to keep it in your phone case.
  7. Club Orange must be booked directly with HAL and is capacity controlled.it has been discussed at length here. Try a search.
  8. The sparking wine is made by Gallo I believe. What they used to have was mediocre at best…this is horrible. Never even opened ours. I brought a couple of bottles with us instead.
  9. Don’t worry. When you board go up to the Retreat when you can. The staff there will have your info and may well ask you service preferences. Enjoy.
  10. Our tags for a Neptune Suite were gold on last cruise and had “Priority “ on them.
  11. As mentioned by others…call Ships Services to book. Your cruise does not have to be paid for to book a cabana. You’ll need your booking number and you will be charged at the time of booking and will receive a confirmation email that includes the cabana number.
  12. Food poisoning? How much time did you spend in the infirmary? Was there any discussion of having you medically evacuated for treatment? Assuming you were given complete medical reports to give to your local physician. How many others were affected? I’m surprised it didn’t make the news.
  13. It’s the November 29 sailing…the day after Thanksgiving. Did that same timing last year and it was great. I think there were 3 kids onboard. Cabana was is $700 for the entire cruise. Up from $500 last year, but still worth it for the quiet and service.
  14. Booked the cabana today for our November cruise on the Rotterdam. Glad I took care of it as almost 50% of them are booked already. And yes, we did get our first choice.
  15. Call the TA. HAL probably never notified them. Have had that happen to us.
  16. Ask the security guards that you have to pass through as you enter the port. You have to show them ID and cruise documents anyway. There are also large information display boards that will provide the info…have the driver follow the signs. If you had a driver who took you to the airport, you just got a really dense driver.
  17. On the Rotterdam it was a Nespresso like machine. Pods were different. Produced some very bad “coffee”. Better to go to the machine in the Neptune Lounge that made individual cups from freshly ground beans.
  18. No plastic bottles allowed on HAL ships. It will be confiscated.
  19. Our cabana experience on the Rotterdam in late November was wonderful. A quiet retreat and excellent staff willing to do whatever was needed. No lookyloos and no boomboxes. A very well run operation. I’ve booked the same cabana for this November’s cruise.
  20. You need to remember that the person who assists you with check in is an employee of the handling agent and not HAL. You said the error on your account occurred on a cruise in October. When in October? Even if at the beginning of the month the 12 week limit has barely passed. The time frame quoted to you in the original communication is a best estimate and not a deadline for action. Also, we are talking about $11 here. Not a worrisome amount and as frustrating as it is I don’t think it has altered your lifestyle. Choose your battles carefully. As for your compensation…I wouldn’t hold my breath. Bon voyage!
  21. What do you expect. No one was forced to by the pictures. At least they had something. Sorry you didn’t enjoy, but it is about the kids.
  22. Unfortunately, the smoke from the casino drifts down the stairway into the Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Rock Room venues on the Rotterdam. It can be quite noticeable at times and kept some people from enjoying those spots on our recent cruise.
