  1. Djokovic failed in his Escape from Alcaraz.
  2. Perfect for informal nights in Atlantide.
  3. That's why we always make a travel list: Tickets, passport, visa, credit card, 50 cal machine gun.
  4. I tried that. They sent me away to put trousers, shirt and jacket on.
  5. The sort of people who would unplug your life-support machine so they could charge their 'phone.
  6. No need. They have jemmies in Canada, right?
  7. Yep, that's just the thing to visit before getting back on your cruise ship! Incidentally - true fact (is there any other kind?) - when we boarded the Silver Spirit for our first ever cruise in 2013 the PA system was playing a muted instrumental version of the theme from the Titanic movie.
  8. That's fine. Apparently there's a spare apartment available during next year's world cruise.
  9. Weird place to have a jigsaw puzzle.
  10. Ronald Reagan was your shirt maker? Respect.
  11. A priest, a rabbi, an imam and a Shaolin monk walk into a bar. They have a really nice evening because most people don't want conflict.
  12. Thanks. Long way for me to go for a tin of polish, though 😄 I use Herring's shoe cream. It leaves a lovely finish. Kiwi, as UK ex-military will attest, is the product of choice for "bulling" shoes DMS and boots DMS.
  13. Just another observation that is a sign of the times perhaps: Kiwi have stopped making shoe polish. I know! While I don't use Kiwi, preferring shoe cream, brush, duster and elbow grease, it's sad that so few people either don't polish their shoes, don't own polishable shoes, or both. Am I the only one left who polishes shoes each time they've been worn?
  14. I can be. Oh, you mean the white DJ thing...
  15. And to cap it all I've even seen men in white dinner jackets (tuxedos) outside the tropics! Now that really is the end of days.
  16. Me neither. I just borrow my wife's.
  17. The Flan railway is just pie in the sky.
  18. Potato farls? Soda bread? Colcannon? Champ? Where I grew up in Belfast, food was only food if it was deep-fried and contained absolutely no nutritional benefit other than fats! Oh. Edit to add: Don't forget Mars Bar sandwiches or sugar sandwiches. Yum. Dentist's delight.
  19. One thing to be aware of is that consumer protection rules in the UK would not apply to a cruise bought in the US. The UK protections are vastly more comprehensive than those in the US.
