Everyone got pretty much the same thing in our welcome bags as well. And i have enough stuff for ourselves as well 🙂

Thanks! Yes it was my third and final! I'll pick it up May 7th!! I know the feeling! I have actually lose 15 lbs since I first bought my dress last summer. Now I'm stressed to make sure I maintain it until the wedding! Also gotta try not to gain too much muscle either since I've started a lot of strength workouts. Its a crazy balance!

Good luck with your final dress fitting!

    Thanks,

You're getting really close to the end now. What day do you leave and what day is your wedding?

My son just booked his wedding on the Norwegian Joy for next September.  Any tips from prior brides and grooms?

    Congratulations to you son!!,

A few of us are at the home stretch for our weddings. 50 days for us and it's coming fast.

As far as any tips, I would say, make sure they pay attention to what is. or is not. included in their package. There may be some areas the cruise line will give them a little 'wiggle room' for changes, but other areas they won't budge.

Pay attention to all the paperwork the cruise line wants and get it to them sooner rather than later.

Keep a 'wedding book' of some sort with all important information they receive along the way, and triple check everything. (I have a big notebook with several tabs, each individually labeled for something different. ie:  Wedding ceremony info/ Cruise cabin info/  people sailing with us info etc.

Write down every question they have and check off each question as it's answered.

Finally, I'd say plan on sending out the save the dates much earlier than you normally would for a land wedding. (we sent our std's out a year in advance and made sure to verbally tell people as soon as we decided on a ship and date.) People need a lot of time to plan ahead for work, kids, vacations, money etc. (we also have a wedding website, but we've found most people called us instead of reading what we put on it.)

    Hope that helps!

That will be great to have everything paid off!!! One less bill to worry about! Haha. When will you find out about your venue? I'll be crossing fingers you guys get what you want!

Everything is going great here! Just bought the last of the welcome bag stuff for our little group. Going for another dress fitting tomorrow morning then going to sit down plan some things on the island to do! Can't believe its in just over a month!

Well, we made what we believe is our final payment last night.  It does feel nice having it out of the way now. We got all our items for the welcome bags as well. Everyone is getting pretty much the same items, but since we only have 4 bags to fill-4 couples- we will give one specific item to each couple depending on what they like. That way no one ends up with something he/she doesn't want .

Have fun with your dress fitting. Which one is this for you now-second, third? My 3rd and I think final one is May 5?  The seamstress asked if I was trying to lose weight because I had lost a few inches on my hips at the 2nd one.  Nope, just stress and my job taking care of that!! Can't imagine how anyone wouldn't lose a few inches here or there during this process🤣.

But anyway, good luck picking out your activities. I'm sure there's lots of fun things to see and do while there.

Sounds like you will be down to 6 people like us! A small ceremony will be great.

Our couple friend who is pregnant decided to fly down for a few days and enjoy a vaca themselves. I still feel kind of bad that they won't be able to join us for dinner on the ship our wedding night but for just one couple I don't want to drop thousands to do something else. We'll just do something with them on the island.

In other news I did ask Norwegian to make a cake for us that night! It will be delivered to where we are eating dinner. Sent them a pic for inspiration so hopefully all comes out well! Just over a month now til sailing! Now I'm starting to worry about covid testing. Because Norwegian decided to add a stop in virginia before going to Bermuda we have to have a covid test on board....that will be stressing me out the most. Hopefully all will be fine. I wish they would just remove that stop though!

Hope the planning and everything is going well still!

I agree it's probably for the best to just do something with your friends on island. It won't be so hectic and you can all relax.

    I'm sure the cake will come out beautifully. One thing ive noticed on any ship i've sailed is their pastry departments are incredible. We're doing our cake after dinner as well. We had ordered one that feeds 20 thinking we would need it. Now not so much but my fiance' likes cake so we're keeping it. I told him he eating a lot of leftovers for the week:}

Testing is such a drag. I get that its important but it's still such a hassle. Princess allows a 2 day rapid antigen if you're 'up to date' with vaxes and boosters which was nice but we're flying into Florida 2 day before so we have to do the pcr test 3 days out and hope for the best.  No place around my way is doing the rapid tests anymore it seems like. Whatever, at this point we're just trying to roll with it.

Our planning is going as well as we can hope for. Final payment for the food, dinner, etc is this Friday, after that we just hope we get the venue of choice and there's no curve balls thrown our way.

We got a new wedding planner a few weeks ago, no idea what happened to the other one, she just disappeared and this new one emailed me to say she was taking over. She's actually better so i'm happy to have her.

Hope all is going will with you as well.!!

  5. Hello Christian,

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

I would say the first thing to do is decide whether you would like to get married on a Royal Caribbean ship during a sailing where everyone spends the entire cruise with you, or at the port before the ship sails, or somewhere in Miami or Fort Lauderdale on land and then take a cruise for honeymoon. If you definitely prefer Royal Caribbean for a cruise line, I would say check out their webpage, 'Royalcaribbean.com" Once you are there, at the very bottom of the page under the 'find a cruise' tab there is a link titled 'Royal Weddings' which will take you to all the different types of wedding services they offer.

Another option you may want to think about, is finding a travel agent who specializes in wedding cruises. (We did that for our upcoming wedding cruise in May and it was definitely worth it).  Just do an internet search and when you see a few who look like a good fit for you, call to make an over the phone appointment, explain what you are hoping to do and see if one will be a good match to work with.  Especially being from another country, you want to make sure all the proper rules and regulations are taken care of.

Only other thing i'd say is even though your date is about 2 years away, the sooner you start making inquiries the better. If people will be coming over with you they need lots of time to book flights, accomodations, a cabin if sailing with you, etc.

    Good Luck!

    Hope this helps

  6. Has anyone recently tried to make a dining reservation with the app? We just tried to edit one we had for Sat and no matter what time we used it wouldn't let us select the time. I would like to think it's the app just being finicky opposed to every time slot being full.😜 (this is our second cruise since the return of sailing , we have android phones and had no issues choosing dining until now)

    thanks

  7. Hi all,

We have the wifi/ medallionet  package for our upcoming cruise and were wondering if that allows you to text others sailing with you if they have it as well? I was on a cruise in Jan and never had the need to text my bf so I honestly don't know if that is a feature.   We used the internet and ordered room service etc without issue but texting never seemed to come up.

    Thanks

  8. What about the folks cruising into Canada from the U.S.?  We're doing a NE/Canada cruise Starting and ending in Boston Massachusetts. First port of call is in Maine which is Day 1 of cruise, we get to St. John/ New Brunswick in Canada on day 2.  Is the cruise line responsible for testing us to get off the ship? Also will the test us again to disembark when the cruise ends?

I should also note, we aren't going until October so who knows what the Canadian Government will have come up with by then🙄

  9. Congrats on the new car. That's awesome!

I would imagine your wedding planner could help you to find a place for dinner?. There has to be somewhere close by that would fit your needs, especially if it isn't a huge group of people.

We have narrowed down our guest list to a firm 10 and 2 possible maybes(chasing down the folks who never RSVP's annoyed me but what can you do right?)

We  have the gift bags but nothing to put in them yet. We're thinking a few small things, ei: magnets for the cabin walls, mini suntan lotion, powdered energy drinks you mix with water( I'm assuming most of us will be a bit dehydrated the day after the wedding), some mints, lip balm. Nothing too large since we're flying. We also have to order the little gift bag tags that we will tie to the bag welcoming guests for coming, and my fiance' is making a 'wedding day timeline' to put inside the bag so folks know when and where everything is taking place.

I've given some thought to my emergency kit as well but haven't packed anything yet. One thing keeping me from stressing about that is one of my friends is very much a 'girly girl' and I have no doubt if I were to forget something she will have it🤣

We pretty much finalized the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We have my walking down the aisle song, (no bridesmaids or groomsmen) our leaving the ceremony as well as entrance into the cocktail hour, first dance, and last song of the night when we leave.

Its all on my laptop. I"m going to work on moving to a thumb drive today if all goes according to plan. I've got to write a list for the AV coordinator so he knows when to play each song, and do the list for the photographer. We have certain places we want pics and this will make it easier for us knowing he/she has the info ahead of time.

We just made our preliminary pics for food for the cocktail hour and dinner. We figured out the cake, flowers and the readings/blessings the captain will read during the ceremony. Oh, and finally bought our plane tickets to Florida! Can't forget those. 😁

At this point I think we're both a bit shell shocked. We knew things would be coming fast the closer it came to the wedding, but now that it's happening we're trying to stay focused and keep calm.

My biggest concern now is the 2 day testing requirement by Princess. Ship leaves on Saturday, we are flying out Thursday so there's no way to do a test before we go. We either need to do a home proctored test very early before the flight leaves which is not really appealing to either of us, we can make an appointment at the F. Lauderdale airport for after we land or try the walk in clinic near the hotel after we check in. I'm not happy about any of our choices and i'm hoping Princess relaxes their rules to 3 days for a vaxed and boostered person as time goes on, but i'll plan for 2 and hope for the best.

Whew, never realized how tiring planning a wedding was.

  10. Hey there P.

My fitting went well. It was a little scary watching the seamstress chalk the bottom of the dress to see where she needs to cut it  for length. But she assured me I won't lose the decorative lace on the bottom which made me feel better.

Final payment for our cruise is Feb 19th, we pretty much are assuming those who've already booked are the ones going. Everyone else hasn't said much to us so we figure they are all no's.  We have 10 definite and 2 singles who need to decide. So probably 12 -14 including us.

Truth be told, we're fine with that. Makes it easier to keep track of everyone before we get on the ship. 😎

I can't remember if you said you are flying to the port or driving?  It should be easy enough to pack your gift bag items if you're flying and just assemble them when you land.  Have you decided what your wedding favors will be?

Good luck with your dress fitting. It's strange to see yourself all dressed up, I sort of felt like It was anyway,  but once you think about how beautiful your groom will think you look it makes all the preparation worth it:)

  11. Honestly  it was annoying but not a huge problem.  We were  on for a 4 day trip and tried to stay out of the room as much as possible.  Had it been longer we would have told guest services right away.

We were just curious if anyone else has run into the same thing?
