We cruise 5 times a year 6-14 day cruises, so yes, sometimes (maybe several days a year) I need to work. I still rather be on cruise because it is only several days per year (the most was 3 days in a raw out of 8 , I had evenings and 5 other days. I worked partially from Solarium (Anthem) which is MUCH better than my office. 🙂

I have not worked this or last year on Anthem (thankfully I have 26 PTO now, also some unused days from pandemic) . Previously quality was pretty good. I was working with VPN and time to time had videoconferences. Keep in mind, if you are working in Solarium, there are no power outlets. I bring large powerbank. I

Wait a second. So it is acceptable to take stuff from loungers if it is left there at any time? I think not. It may happen, but it should not. I of course will never leave meaningful stuff in loungers, especially my work laptop, but it is beyond the point. I sailed with 8 lines before deciding to make RCI my preferred line, and RCI have yet to disappoint me. And I have not seen any fights ... unlike on some others. 🙂

It is not an opinion. If you are not standing and watching my lounger for all this time, you cannot even know if I was there during this time. You also do not know if I am watching my stuff. Your only option is to check with a pool stuff rather than deciding if something is abandoned (still not yours to touch) or not.

No, you cannot. Let it be a nice surprise for you, but I am sure you won't be doing this again. You have a very strange idea about abandonment. The only way you can even determine that someone is absent is to watch this chair all this time (30 minutes or more). Not just randomly deciding that someone was absent for more than 30 minutes. And even if you think you are 100% sure this happened the only way to deal with a situation is to report this to nearby staff. They usually have better idea if another cruiser is in the area and how long he/she wasn't there.

I do not care what your intentions are. You may imagine anything in your had, but once you are taking my stuff this is it. And since when swimming for 45 minutes is abandoning my property. What happens if my work laptop slips and breaks? Whoever should be prepared to pay. Look for available chair as I do.

Yes, but I am not going around the ship or to buffet. I am swimming in Jacuzzi or in the pool. There are many chairs around to use, but this person absolutely needed my chair by the window. Look, I do 5 regular size or longer cruises with Royal last several years. I know the rules. This was outrageous. I personally would not touch other people stuff even if person is outside of pool area and there is only a towel, but in my case it is normal to be in pool area and use pool/Jacuzzi for longer.

Since March we haven't seen any visible measures on-board. Of course now you don't need to have a test for most of shorter (less than 9 days) cruises, and if one need a test it is just a photo of hometest

NCL is a line we sail for good itineraries. (sailed 9 times) People complain about some issues, but we are willing overlook them for itinerary, good entertainment and vibe on board. In some reason we did not enjoy experience in similar to Joy class ship Breakaway (it does not have some things Joy has. Like speed cars etc) What REALLY I did not like on this type of ship was design. Especially pool deck. At all. Too many people... Also if Oasis has some sort of Solarium with a roof, NCL ships do not have it. As we are sailing from Northeast this is a big deal for us.

I am about to embark on cruise #55 with 8 lines. And 4 A/I vacations and yet to see system working properly about chairhogging. I would not expect it to work. It is very difficult to enforce, and crew is not very comfortable bothering guests, removing their stuff. Recently we were in Jacuzzi in Solarium on Adventure for some time (after a long walk in Boston). When we returned to our chairs near window we found another passenger occupying it. She calculated we were absent for too long and it was a time to enforce laws. 🤣 There were many empty loungers maybe in the next row, but she needed one of our 3 chairs. She wanted to be by the window. We had towels clothing, tablets, phones etc on all three... so it was pretty obvious we are in the area, yet ....

I'd think it is Curaçao or maybe Bonaire. Dutch islands.
