  1. Have flown out of SJU 4 times and for 3 of them they were before noon(once before 11)We were through security real fast and actually had too much time to kill. Two suggestions to save time is if you are in port the day before you disembark or have internet on the boat, check in for your flight online and then all you have to do is drop off your luggage at the airport. If there is a long wait too check in at the airport this will save you time. Second is to use the porter service they have after you disembark. Unless something has changed since last year they have their own dedicated line through customs that tends to be shorter and faster. It’ll cost you a few bucks in a tip but worth it to save up to 20-30 minutes at customs.
  2. We are in Aruba until midnight on our upcoming cruise. We are doing an excursion in the morning but was wondering if there is something worthwhile to do later in the day(4:00 pm) or in the evening?
  3. We are sailing on the Silhouette in 6 weeks and are in a concierge cabin on the back part of the hump midship. Very happy with it. Bigger balcony. The moveup price to an AQ starts at $130/pp No hump cabins available. The only difference will be we get to eat in Blu. Would you place a bid? Can we decline if we don’t like the cabin choice?
  4. I dined in Luminae solo on a med cruise. I never asked to be seated with someone else but I was lucky enough to be seated by a few people who would converse with me. The tables were very close together so it almost felt like we were at a table of four. By mid cruise I was joining a different group every night for dinner. I almost felt like Norm from Cheers when I would walk in.
  5. I find that the majority of prices for liquor found on board for us in BC in Canada can be a great deal. The duty free shops were selling 4 one litre bottles of Grey Goose for $100US($130 approx CDN). The equivalent purchase back home would have been upwards of $250.
  6. I normally wait until final payment is due looking for price drops but my cruise in November is now $1000 more per person than when we booked. I figured unless a huge number of cancellations happen there will be no price drop so I paid off the cruise off about 3 months before final payment was due. And if if it does happen to go down in price then the refund will go to an upgrade somewhere else on the trip or toward another booked cruise.
  7. If the AQ cabin is the one directly in the middle or on either side of it I would jump on it in a heartbeat. The balconies are much bigger and it’s a great view. The food in Blu is amazing and you will get to meet people in Blu. The Oceanview Cafe is right below you but I never had an issue with noise.
  8. Those were the only specialty restaurants last time I was on board. They may add a new one when they eventually refurbished the ship.
  9. What are the pros and cons of going on an Alaska Cruise in May? I keep seeing good prices for OV guarantees every year and am thinking about booking next year if I can find the same deals.
  10. Thank you Anne for your review. It is definitely an eye opener as I was excited about the IV's at first but as time went on I realized that you essentially have an over-sized oceanview. I think I will be passing on this ship for now as the prices are just too high for a 7 night cruise. The price of a similar cabin on Edge that I have on the Silhouette for a 9 night is $2500 more. Since my first Celebrity cruise 5 years ago I have noticed a more concerted effort in the upselling of products on board. I am glad that Celebrity have put their their dailies on the app. I think it is one of those things that help younger cruisers get engaged on the cruise. I can't count the amount of times I've forgotten about something that I wanted to do on board because I didn't have the paper daily with me. On the flip side playing trivia games and such is not something i would want to do on my cruise. I think it takes away from connecting with other cruisers. Was there an option to click on an activity and set a reminder for that while in the app?
  11. Bed is definitely by the bathroom. Was just in that abin. There a convertible sofa and table between the bed and balcony.
  12. Sounds good. We also have TSA pre check so that should help at the airport in case we get caught up a little bit at port.
  13. Curious as to the time it takes to get to MIA from Ft. Lauderdale cruise terminal for an 11:50 am departure time to Canada. I figure we’ll have plenty of time to make our flight.
  14. You're going to love it. Just of the Summit in cabin 1140. Could not hear any noise when the balcony door was closed. The extra long balcony was a treat. Quick walk down to the buffet in the morning or for a quick snack or 4.
