  1. Definitely some parallels! To be clear, it was ME who was shy & quiet, definitely not the little one! And the fact that a 3 yr old didn’t send him running for the hills surely added to his charm.
  2. On November 6, 1986 I went to an after work retirement party with a friend and I met a guy. He was younger than me, I was a single Mom to a 3 year old, shy & quiet. He introduced himself and we spent most of the night talking & dancing. Our first official date was 3 days later at Chuck E Cheese with my daughter and we never looked backed. On February 19, 1988, 35 years ago tomorrow , this happened: Here’s a pic of me with said munchkin as my flower girl: A couple of years after this he adopted the munchkin and we went in to have two more daughters. I sure am glad that woman retired and had a party!
  3. This is fantastic Bob, thanks for sharing. It sure brings back memories as this song was played at every high school dance and prom.
  4. Concerts. I haven’t been to a ton, but a few good ones. My first was Elvis Presley at the Cow Palace in Calif in 1970. I was only 13 at the time but my Mom was a big fan and took me along. I don’t recall much about the music, just all the screaming women and the panty throwing 😂. I’ve also seen Three Dog Night, Barry Manilow, Queen, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Aerosmith with ZZ Top opening for them, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Earth, Wind & Fire.
  5. Thanks for the link Mark. Once the granddaughters get picked up this morning, I know how I’m spending my first quiet time!
  6. So many great suggestions already, I knew I came to the right place. This GOT your will be a must do as we’re big fans too. It’s on our re-watch list.
  7. Thanks for the recommendations Dani. Gorgeous pictures! Now you have me thinking maybe we should take the train from Rome to Venice and fly home from there! Might as well see as much as possible once we’re ‘across the pond’.
  8. Great trip Jimbo. Re: your sea day question, Barcelona to Marseille, seems like it can be done without a sea day in between since that’s what our itinerary is. Maybe it has to do with the # of ships in port for yours?
  9. In some exciting news (to us anyway), we’ve put a hold on a 9 night Med cruise on the Celebrity Reflection. Here’s the itinerary: This will be a belated celebration of our 35th anniversary which is coming up this weekend. Our first time on Celebrity, first Med cruise and Andy’s first time in Europe. I lived in Germany for 3 years in the early 60’s when my Dad was stationed there with the Army. We visited several countries when he had time off and it’s foggy, but I do have some memories of Italy. We’ll spend a few days in Barcelona pre-cruise and a few extra in Rome post cruise. I’ve been scouring the Med Ports boards and I just ordered Rick Steves book on Med Cruise Ports from Amazon. @dani negreanuI see you contribute quite a bit on those boards, so I may have questions for you and I welcome any other advice or suggestions from those here who have cruised the Med.
  10. A day late, but Happy Anniversary @ReneeFLL and Happy Engagement day to @Sea Dog. @dani negreanu after your terrible travel day, I hope you and DH are enjoying & celebrating in Venice. @Ocean Boy glad you’re starting to feel better.
  11. Adding my Happy Birthday wishes for @sgmnand @A&L_Ont Lisa, along with hopes everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day. I’ve been fighting a miserable (non-Covid) cold which doesn’t pair well with taking care of a 2 and almost 4 year old. NyQuil helped me sleep last night so I feel a little better today. @dani negreanu I look forward to hearing about your trip.
  12. Congrats on the Chiefs Super Bowl win Greg! No sour grapes here, they earned it. The Eagles didn’t play well in the second half and you simply can’t do that against Mahomes and expect to hold a lead. I was underwhelmed by the half time show. I don’t know her music and I’m sure she’s very talented but all the weird costumes, dancing marshmallows and gyrations imitating s** acts are a distraction from real talent. If you have a great voice, just come out and sing for crying out loud!
  13. My Mom always said a dose of fresh air is “good for what ails you”. Unless it’s the Kracken doing the job 😉!
