OMG, I can’t believe I’m able to post, first time I’ve been able to get to the boards all week while onboard the ship. I have so much to catch up on and so much to post about. But today was Jost Van Dyke excursion so I’ll focus on that for now. Just like our last visit in 2017, it was just amazing. LOL, I’m here! Internet on the ship is awful, I can’t get onto the CC boards. In St Thomas today so I have service today. It’s definitely a different bloodline and NOT in a good way. Full report when I can. Hope the rest are having fun!

We’ve been to Versailles and love it, but our friends wanted to go somewhere we could walk to. This was Marabu.

We had dinner last night at a Cuban restaurant in Brickell Center. Good food, great mojitos and this sign. Sounds like words to live by!

We took the Metromover down to Bayside Marketplace today. From there we could see two Carnival whale tails, a Celebrity ship and one of the Virgin ships. I really don’t care for the look of them.

We had a great flight yesterday from a shockingly empty Logan Airport. Breezed through check-in and security with no lines. Our AA flight left on time and arrived in Miami a few minutes early. We’re staying at the Aloft Miami Brickell. It’s fine, nice and clean but a little bare bones/minimalist in the room category. My wine on the flight yesterday. An unknown vintage, choices offered by the flight attendant were “red or not red”, LOL. @h20skibumNo live report, I may do something post cruise on the NCL boards. Packing is almost complete, but naturally I’m grossly overpacked 🤪. We pick our friends up at 9 am tomorrow with a 1 pm non-stop flight from Boston to Miami. Dry January end tomorrow as I will definitely need a pre-flight cocktail.

Whew, I’m exhausted just reading this! Glad you got the door lock figured out & fixed.

Busy starting to pack today. We fly to Miami Friday then cruise Sunday on NCL Encore. I might do a comparison type review post-cruise and will probably post just a bit here during the trip. We’re going with friends who’ve never cruised before so that’ll be interesting. They’re both excited and a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. I’m just looking forward to warm weather and a cocktail!

We have about an inch here in the middle of the state. More tomorrow, but clear for the weekend🙂.

Great pictures ‘through the years’. I love photos that recreate events or memories. This is one we did in 2021. The girls have talked about recreating some from their childhood. You’ve inspired me now to go through our old pictures and choose a few to do so on our next family trip in August.

I’d say we’re the odd ones out re:Disney, but the park crowds tell a different story. We took our kids every year starting in 1991, missing only two years (hello weddings & overlapping college years, lol) They all still love it and are now doing the same with their own kids. They do take other vacations but Disney is just our nostalgic family vacation place. For us it’s not even about the rides but about being together in a place with so many memories. Having the DVC membership allows us to bring the whole family every 18 months or so and staying in a 3 bedroom unit, which is what they all want - to be in the same space.

Thank you. But if I buy on Day 2, I would pay $29.99 x 6 or $180 for 6 days worth. Might as well buy it now for $178. Unless I’m missing something.

Bumping this back up as I have a few additional questions. Right now it’s $178.50 to upgrade to unlimited internet from our Free At Sea. This is the regular pre cruise price of $25.50 per day x 7. It doesn’t appear any discount or credit is being given for the 150 free minutes? So my question is, can we use up our 150 free minutes each, then add the unlimited plan for the remaining days at the onboard price of $29.99? For example, if the free minutes last 3 nights, we add the unlimited plan and are only charged for the remaining 4 nights? Also, does NCL still do a White Night?

We’ve had annual passes for several years now since we go multiple times per year. They’re expensive but we get a DVC member renewal discount and when divided up over a few trips it’s definitely worth it, to us anyway. They’re currently not selling new annual passes, only renewals allowed.

I’d likely use this feature if it worked on my car by pressing the brake pedal (assuming it has it) but not if I have to press a button. I’ll have to try it.

I’ll have to try that with shifting. Like you, I’ve gotten used to it (but would rather not have it at all). Since I love everything else about the car I consider it minor. BTW, I’ve already started weather-stalking and it looks good for flying next weekend 🙂.

Interesting. I doubt Andy would want to jerry-rig something though. I’m not crazy about the auto start/stop but it’s not really a big deal.
