  1. We have not been but I’ve been researching this AI as friends of ours went last year and very highly recommend it. I’m looking forward to your thoughts once you return.
  2. Nothing but gloomy, dreary, drizzly weather here with a little snow mixed in earlier this week. The high today was 55 degrees and we have more rain coming over the next several days. I’ll take it, along with the warmer temps, over snow any day, @Luckynana has it warmed up at all for you?
  3. @dani negreanu add me to the list of those who are so happy you were able to enjoy a little escape. And what better way than spending time with family. Love the pictures.
  4. @lenquixote66 Happy 57th Anniversary to you and Toby! We had a very busy weekend. Cristina and her family came up from PA to join in celebrating the shared birthday of SIL Matt and our youngest GD Ellie on Saturday. A kids party during the day and in the evening we all went bowling which was a ton of fun. Yesterday I went to a Jazz Brunch at Ocean House (a fancy resort & restaurant) with a group of dear friends. We were seated window side, literally overlooking the home (or is it former home?) @Ocean Boy’s famous neighbor. I’ve been busy doing some redecorating in our spare bedrooms. New bunk beds in the grandsons room to make room for the small crib, plus new paint and area rug. Granddaughters room will be up next with the crib moving out of that room. Also on my agenda this week is beginning a purge of all the closets to hopefully get rid of all that stuff we hold onto “in case we need it someday”. Stay warm everyone!
  5. Mimi, if it’s okay with you I’d love to say ‘hi’ if I see you onboard. I’m pretty sure I’d recognize you from a couple of pictures you’ve posted.
  6. Hahaha, this made me laugh out loud Greg! @Ozark_Kid beautiful family photos! @bobmacliberty loved all the NYC photos and videos. It looks like the trip was a great success.
  7. Hey, I’m silently following along but just have to say I think you’re doing a fantastic job! Professional or not, you’re sharing photos of sights and locales many of us may never experience.
  8. The videos and photos being posted in ‘that other place’ are amazing. Pretty spot on! (from the land of the criminals)
  9. Safe travels home. My youngest was supposed to fly home from Disney last night. By 1pm yesterday her 5 pm flight was already delayed 2 hours. JetBlue was allowing changes with no fees so she jumped on that and rebooked for 5pm tonight. It was definitely the right decision because there were tornado warnings for central FL and we had torrential rain and high winds here. It also helped that her sisters are still there so she had a place to bunk. According to the local news, we received over 5 inches of rain!
  10. @DaniDanielle belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! We returned home last night from our quick trip to Disney for race weekend. As expected, Cristina finished the full 26.2 mile run, her first full marathon. Jessica’s goal was to make it from the starting point in Epcot to the Magic Kingdom which is 10 miles and she was able to do that. Not bad for being almost 5 months pregnant. Ali’s goal was to beat per personal best of 13.1 miles; she made it to mile 17 before dropping out. A few pictures from the weekend. My girls, 5:01 am on race day The finisher and her family Andy and I with the grandkids Me with the youngest granddaughter (Ali in the background) 4 of the 5 grandkids Celebratory dinner at The Boathouse in Disney Springs Now we’re home to the cold and snow 🙁.
  11. Ours is Feb 19th and while we’ve not impacted much by Valentines Day, it’s a tough time to travel as it’s usually Feb school vacation week so prices are through the roof.
  12. It’s currently sailing from Port Canaveral. @h20skibum I hope you’ll continue posting from Allure. Our February cruise will be our first time on her so curious to hear your thoughts. Congrats on reaching D+. Latest forecast for our area has 6-12” of snow from Saturday night through Sunday. I’m a little sad we’re missing the first storm (sorry @Ocean Boy). It would’ve been nice to hunker down and watch football all day.
  13. I’m finally getting caught up after a busy week, well actually a few weeks including the holidays. I got all the Christmas decorations put away this week. Why does it seem to take twice as long to put them away as it does to bring them out and decorate? Different mindset, I guess. We are on our second Samsung TV and have been pretty happy with both. The first one lasted nearly 10 years, we only replaced it for a bigger one when we moved to this house in 2017. Our Samsung refrigerator is fine but has that mysterious ice maker issue, where it just randomly stops working. Andy wanted the one with the electronics and computer screen, supposedly we’re going to watch TV on it or listen to music. We’ve had the fridge about 3 years now and neither of those things has happened. We also have a Samsung dishwasher, it’s just okay. Tomorrow morning we fly to Orlando to spend 3 nights at Walt Disney World. Our daughters are running in the marathon Sunday morning, so we’re all going to show our support. In actuality, only Cristina has a chance to finish as she’s the only one who’s actually trained for it. Jessica will be at a very slow pace, mostly fast walking, due to her pregnancy. Ali hasn’t really trained at all but she has completed half marathons before so she will also end up a combination of walking and running. It sounded like a great idea many months ago when they registered, LOL. When we get home, I need to buckle down and figure what we’re doing next month prior to our two cruises. We’re on Allure 4 night, 2/26 then right onto Adventure 8 night, 3/1. We want to spend several days before somewhere in FL and probably a few days after as well. We’re driving so we have plenty of flexibility. Safe travels to everyone flying or driving this weekend and Bon Voyage to those cruising!
  14. A very quiet New Year’s Eve for us here in RI. Chili is on the menu along with a new recipe for chicken wings. They’re brined in sweet tea, then baked with a dry spice mix. Currently watching a little football and later we’ll watch a few episodes of Suits which we just started. Tomorrow we’ll have dinner at Jess & Sam’s house. I wish you all a Happy New Year🍾!!
