  1. I'm fairly certain that if this would save money for NCL, they would have already implemented it. Therefore, it won't save money but would cost money instead.
  2. Suprised that you don't grasp the concept that if NCL doesn't make a profit, there won't be a NCL.
  3. If the cost of Free at Sea is 'already baked into the fare', why do you think it is 'extra'? Why do you think stocking and re-stocking the mini-fridge would be a 'small thing'?
  4. So, you think the Haven fares should be increased by the amount necessary to cover the Free at Sea, and re-stocking the minibar? How much additional do you think this would raise the Haven fares?
  5. There isn't a Haven observation/horizon lounge on Prima class ships.
  6. Prefer the Prima class ships. Then the Breakaway Plus. Not at all interested in the smaller ships. It would be helpful if you described the things you value on a ship. And, describe your preferred cabin class.
  7. Yes, the regulations have been in place for some time. However, the speed zones are subject to change. "For a period of 15 days after a whale is detected, mariners are encouraged to avoid these areas or reduce speeds to 10 knots or less while transiting through these areas." https://www.fisheries.noaa.gov/national/endangered-species-conservation/reducing-vessel-strikes-north-atlantic-right-whales#right-whale-slow-zones and-dynamic-management-areas IOW, you cannot predict more when or where these zones might affect your cruise.
  8. Instead of guessing. why not call NCL and ask? Only NCL can answer, with any authority, your concerns.
  9. I misunderstoon. I thought you were embarking on the 27th instead of arriving on the 27th.
  10. So, you're rebooking for your convenience, to avoid an additonal three hour wait at the port?
  11. How long will the arrival of Prima in NYC be delayed? Why does this require changing flights?
  12. It's roughly 1300 nm from Porta Plata to NYC. At 23 knts, that's 56 hours. At 17 knts, thats 76 hours. Prima was scheduled to debark NYC at 7AM. Now Prima is scheduled to debark NYC at 10AM. If your conjecture was correct, Prima would be delayed 20 hours, not 3.
  13. The DSC, the service charge called by some gratuities, is added to your bill every day and that does not depend upon where you dine. $25 PP PD depending upon when you booked your cruise. https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#what-is-onboard-service-charge
  14. I've never had been placed on hold while TA verifies those things. But, then, I never make my reservation over the phone. I email my TA the ship, date, room # and then a few minutes later I receive an invoice from the TA and booking confirmation from NCL.
  15. OP did not ask when is the time to get the auto charges increased. OP asked when is the time to get the auto charges reduced or eliminated.
  16. I read it and found nothing to convince me to change my mind. Premeditated = Shamefull. I see no reason to continue this conversation.
  17. If someone wants to know how to reduce/eliminate the service charge prior to even boarding the ship, prior to even knowing what service they will receive, that is indeed premeditated and shamefull. Amazing the lengths you go to in order to justify something as shameful as stiffing the crew.
  18. It should be obvious that OP hasn't boarded the ship, can't possibly have experienced any issues that would justify reducing/eliminating the service charge. Yet OP wants to know how/when OP can reduce/eliminate the service charge. And, now, you're playing word games in an attempt to justify OP's shameful actions.
  19. Anyone, such as OP, who decides to remove the service charge prior to even boarding the ship, should have the courage to face the crew and justify their shameful decision. I cannot understand why anyone would attemp to defend that decision.
  20. Service fees are most definitely part of the cost of the cruise. You're only playing with words to justify stiffing the crew.
  21. So, you're too ashamed of removing the service charge to explain to those affected what/why you've done so?
  22. Excellent comment. IMHO, anyone who removes/reduces the Service Fee should be honest and inform the service workers that you believe they are paid enough without your contributions to the fee and that you've removed/reduced your contributions.
