  1. Sounds like your leaving from NOLA. We've taken two cruises on NCL from NOLA. Our first cruise we arrived at the port approximately 0930. We spent the next hour in the line for security clearance. We boarded about 1115. Our second cruise, we arrived at the port approximately 1100. The security line was non-existant, we boarded about 1115. NOLA has a very small waiting area for those who've checkin in. Once the area is full, NOLA stops the security line. It doesn't matter whether your in Haven or not, there is only one security line. You cannot check in or visit the haven waiting area until after security. we found there was little of no advantage to an early arrival. We now wait in our comforable hotel room until we can time our arrival at the port after the line has cleared, around 1100.
  2. It's like all other ports, it's up to you to get from the airport to the port. The cruise line will offer, at a cost, transportation from the airport to the port. However, this transportation is only available the day of departure. There are many business providing alternative transportation oftens much cheaper and more flexible. Many have found it attractive to rent a vehicle for transportation to and from the port/airport. This is especially attractive for arriving days prior to departure. We arrived the day early, rented a car in MCO, travelled to Port Canaveral, kept the car for overnight use, then left the car at the rental agency who provide free transportation to the port.
  3. TA do not earn commissions on anything but the fare. You can ask but be prepared to be disappointed.
  4. Perhaps, but it's not guaranteed. But giving it in cash directly does give the person the option.
  5. Understand. Although I might make an issue in post cruise survey.
  6. At that point, I would have asked the concierge to intervene.
  7. why not ask your butler to fetch your special requests to be delivered in the Haven restaurants?
  8. It's not outdated if it produced superior results.
  9. Before I engage with my TA, I do a mock booking. I've learned to use a different cabin number (same category) than the one I actually want. I mock booking generates a 24 hour hold on the cabin you select. Therefore, I use a cabin close to the one I want. Then I contact my TA with the cabin number I actually want.
  10. Sharing tips is common practice in the service industry.
  11. Pretty much the same menu we had on Prima in February. My only complaint is the lack of biscuits and gravy.
  12. I prefer hard sided. Most bags are soft sided so hard sided bags are easier to spot. Some recommend the soft sided because they're more expandable. My belief is if you need an expandable bag, you're taking too much stuff.
  13. You can get those with several variations on Amazon. Search on " This Is Not Your Bag" All of these suggestions reminds me of a cartoon I saw maybe 30 years ago. There was a weekly cartoon called "They'll do it verytime." The one I have in mind was of a frustrated man looking for his car in an airport parking lot. On the way home he heard a suggestion to tie a red ballon to his antenna. He did but when he returned from his next rip, everyone heard the same suggestion and he saw sea of red balloons.
  14. We were torn between booking one of those or another deck 17 next to the bar. We settled on the bar. Question: how would you characterize the size of the balcony?
  15. Recommend you call them. They can do many things for you that you may not realize. If you call, they can explain everything. They will also ask questions about ways they can help you. Set a reminder on your phone or computer to call.
  16. Which of the smaller ships have dedicated Haven Bar, Haven Restaurant, etc.
  17. Before you put OBC on your card, check with the issuer, they may consider that a cash advance with a hefty fee which would obliterage and savings. I usually just carry cash.
  18. Easy to do. The easiest is too get some brightly colored yard and tie some to the handle. You can paint something on the side or use colored duct tape. One of the best things is to avoid black cloth bags. Get something colored. Hard sided also works since most folks use the cheap black cloth bags from walmart. Basically, just use your imagination. If you want, you can spend some money and go hitech, apple air tags or the samsung equivalent. If you get the airtags, your phone will point at the bags once you get close. The airtags also allow you to tract your bags. One final t hing, take a picture of your luggage which will help lost and found ID your bags.
  19. Well, here's your chance to clarify what you said.
  20. So, essentially, you're claiming that NCL makes so much money that it can afford to reduce it's profit by giving away service it now charges for?
