Here comes Divina.

Ok I will add one more comment. We have cruised YC before on the Divina.and the splendida. My husband forgot his jacket one evening and was refused entry/to be seated by the maitre d/ to the restaurant. He went back to retrieve the jacket. Granted this was about 10 years ago and in the Med. On formal night the YC pax were dressed to the nines. Even a young boy in a tux. Based upon that and what I was told, I packed accordingly expecting to have the dress code enforced. There is no dress code enforcement, respect or not, on this cruise.

Last time I post about dress. This post is for information only and based on what I saw in the YC. Last night was elegant night. Saw 2 men in black tie. A few gowns. But majority of men in shirts, no tie, no jacket. Some jeans, other types of trousers. Didn't see shorts. Women in variety of attire. Saw one young girl in a dress, another teen in a crop top and tight pants. There is no "dress code" really. I wish I had the correct info about the attire aboard. I would have been able to pack much less. No one wore a book cover.

There are so many pax wearing shorts to dinner along with tshirts and baseball caps i asked why baseball caps are permitted and was told it’s the fashion there is no dress code enforced at all So I guess that anything goes

Aboard now and many adults dress in shorts baseball caps and wrinkled tshirts last night a woman wore her msc slippers to dinner with her shorts

FIONAAAAAAAAAAA shes moving towards Puerto Rico. We are supposed to be embarking from Miami on Saturday and in Puerto Rico Monday, looks like that isn’t going to happen…

Bespoke shorts are just shorter versions of bespoke trousers. All still sartorial splendor.

Wow so you weren't thrown out? Or asked to cover your knees? Or sit in the timeout corner? I am very confused now about the required dress.

Is there any dedicated area for walkers on the Seashore? Is there enough area at the One Pool to walk without encountering and trying to avoid lounge chairs?

Is dinner available outside at the YC venue?

Thanks for the reply and the information. Perhaps we can eat outside where we will not be considered as being disrespectful of others. It may be a long 2 weeks.

Morpheus: a few questions, did you use the laundry services? If so what is the turn around time? i know there was a post about sun beds or the large loungers at the YC pool, but can’t seem to find it. Is there a way to reserve them, how are they allocated? Are dress Bermuda shorts permitted in the YC restaurant in the evening, with a jacket? My husband has some mobility issues and wears a brace at times which does not fit under trousers, hence my question about Bermuda shorts. thanks in advance

Her Majesty gave it all, really she gave it all. She just wore out. When you see the photo of her on Tuesday, wearing her kilt and cardigan and carrying her obligatory handbag, its poignant. Her smile, her coiffed hair and perfectly pink lipstick belies the serious health issues. You can see the deep purple bruise on her hand, yet she extends her hand graciously. Amazing run, and an amazing woman. May her memory be eternal.

Hmm, Morpheus, i live in south Florida and have never booked a cruise during an impending hurricane, although i have been on a cruise in stormy weather. I am one of those who board up, remove all potential missiles from the yard, fill the bathtub with water, get a lot of drinking water, beenieweenies and hunker down. In the future, as i am now in my dotage, I will have to consider the other evacuation option.

Maybe a silly question, but I cant find a definitive answer. What happens to a cruise that is scheduled to embark to the Caribbean as a tropical storm or hurricane is approaching? Does MSC cancel and reschedule, go in a different direction? There are a bunch of named and unnamed storms out there in hurricane alley…
