The court is an outline on the area where the movies are shown. There are other threads asking about it and showing pictures of the court. Do a search. It isn’t anything that is always available. A few days and hours. It is meant to be a fun activity and not something for those that are serious or professional players. You sign up and don’t get to pick your opponents. I watched for a few minutes and there were very little volleys longer than the return on the serve. I don’t know how long you have to wait for your turn but there were a lot signed up. We booked a MSC YC Feb 2024. First timer. We decided to give it a try and if it is really great we will cancel the 8 remaining cruises with X and forfeit the $200/ cruise. A small price to pay instead of paying out thousands for stuff that we will no longer get because of X changing the rules during the game. 2 questions Can you switch between devices with the WI-FI? The way to really cut costs to to get free entertainment. We were on cruises where the main show was a talent show. It was our first cruise and couldn’t believe that passengers packed their costumes and props to do that. The other is to have more Karaoke (not a fan and always avoid it) and do it in the main theater. All free entertainment A few years back on X they had a talent show put on by the staff and workers to show off what they could do. I think it was a matinee show. Can’t believe that they gave up their free time to do that but it could become a condition of employment ☹️. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Good advice. Book a refundable cruise holder far off in the future. You can always move it to another crusie that you may want. If you don’t find anything you should get your money refunded. But who knows. As you wrote terms and conditions keep changing and things aren’t always grandfathered in. It seems as if now we may be in the game but Celebrity owns the cards. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

It is ironic that there are comments being concerned about making sure that the staff gets paid but then there are those that want to pay in advance because the gratuities are increasing?????? Pay in advance so you don’t have to pay as much to the staff because of the increase. I am sure everyone will compensate them extra.🙄 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Very loud. Not very good but a time filler if never seen the shows. Just a lot of screeching from the lead singers and prancing around by the support cast. Guest entertainers are usually good. I don’t like magicians as I can figure out their very lame “tricks” and they think they are fooling me. Comics are not and miss. We always sit near the back and have no problem with walking out. I have also fell asleep during the production shows and then left. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Celebrity is winning because they are getting you to spend more money than you planned on a cabin that would have sailed empty. I don’t play their game. I don’t make any bids. I am not going to spend more money because it is a “bargain”. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

That is what we did. We took trips every year. Our children and us traveled thru all 48 states, and slept in a tent in a campground, or in our van. None of their friends traveled as much as we did or did as much as we did. We went to Disney World every 2 years doing a 2 week vacation. We drove from MI and did it almost none stop, we had a van. One would drive and the other sleep. We would spend 10 nights in a tent in Fort Wilderness Campground. We didn’t cook a meal. Ate at the park, one of the resorts, or got stuff from general store. It was what we could afford but we did it and had a great time. Some of the best times were were the cheapest. When we got married we didn’t have much money and our friends didn’t either. We would get together on the weekends, get a case of beer, play cards and order a few pizzas. Most of our early cruises were on Carnival. Had great times. It is what they advertise, a Fun Ship. At least they provide what they advertise. Does Celebrity? I always hated it when on Celebrity the entertainers or CD would bad mouth or make fun of Carnival. I would BOO them. Look at the ships when they are at a port. Those ships are full of passengers having fun and enjoying themselves. They are doing what they can afford or want to spend their money on. Should I go to an opera instead of a AC DC concert because the opera is considered better quality? Not if I like AC DC and don’t like opera. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Try a different bar or BT and ask if they know how to make a bushwhacked and show them the recipe and ask if they can make it like that. I never had a problem. One BT even pulled out his phone and copied it. I had a few made at the Sunset Bar. For a BT to say they can’t make it because it is all booze is insane. They make many drinks that are all booze. Old Fashion, Manhattan, Martini, Black Russian, and etc. Drink up 🍹🥃🍾🍷🍸🥂🧉

Not a fan of the shows. The sound is too loud and the main singers come out as screaming. The dancers aren’t dancing they are just prancing around some prop while wearing different costumes. I think X could save a lot of money by just using guest performers. At least there would be a variety and not the same production show for many years Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I did not think it was a good value. We did it in St Lucia. A lot depends on your table mates and the person hosting it. We had a terrible host. I think it was his first time doing it and was more of a tour for him than for us. The driver took us to a market. The host took us inside and walked us thru the area and said here is the market. This is where they sell vegetables. He took us to a vendor that told us about what they were selling. We walked to another part where they sold fish, they did the same. We then walked to an area that sold merchandise and said shop around and meet back at the bus in 20 minutes. We then were driven to a plantation where we had a little tour were served a lunch. Nothing special. We then went back to the ship. We met later in the evening for the dinner. Again nothing I would have chosen on a menu. Our table mates weren’t the friendliest. I think it was 2 separate groups of friends. We were the outsiders. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

There is an app called DrinksFree. You can search for drinks by listing ingredients that you have or like and it will show the drinks you can make. It also has about any drink you can imagine in alphabetical order and how to make them. It is great to get some ideas Drink up 🍷🍸🍾🥂🧉🍹🥃

Coming back from a port we will stop in Cafe al Bacio and get that with a shot of espresso added to it and get it stirred instead of blended. Some of the workers would call it the kitchen sink after the first time. They do go down easy. Another one that they have to make without using a mix is a Colorado Bulldog. it is basically a White Russian with cola added to it. 2 ounces vanilla vodka 1 ounce coffee liqueur 2 ounces cola 1 ounce heavy cream Stir the first 3 ingredients with ice and then float on the cream and add 1 maraschino cherry, for garnish Drink up 🍾🧉🥂🍹🥃🍸🍷

I prefer a Dark and Stormy made with Kraken rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer instead of Gosling rum, and Ginger Beer. Drink up 🍹🥂🥃🍸🍷🧉🍾

The menu at Golden Coral looks impressive but it doesn’t mean that it is high quality or good. It does appear as if Celebrity menu is no longer as good as it once was. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Pricing doesn’t do anything with the product. I worked at Cadillac. GM had 5 divisions. Chevy, Pontiac, Olds. Buick, and Cadillac. You could pay more for any of the products than the one above it. You could pay more for a Chevy than a Pontiac in some cases, and same for the other lines. A Buick Electrical 225 cost more than a Cadillac Calais. In the end you still drove a Buick and the other person had a Cadillac. People would pay more for the Buick because that is what they wanted. It is all in the perception. Doctors drove Buicks because they didn’t want their customers thinking they were making too much money. They use to make house calls. Some ethnic groups became loyal to a certain brand because some brands wouldn’t sell to them. Yes it is true. Some people may think that Celebrity is out of their price range or too stuffy for them. They may also want to sail on an amusement park at sea. Look at what food cost at a fast food restaurant compared to a nicer restaurant. In some cases you can get a nice meal at a restaurant for the same or less than at McD’s. Problem is the kids want McDs You can pay more for any cruise line that another depending on the category. Carnival can cost more that Celebrity, Princess, Celebrity and etc. It doesn’t matter it is what the people want and enjoy. I sailed many times on them and loved every cruise. I ‘tried Celebrity and liked them better. It was time to move on, now it looks like it is time tomove on again I have been loyal to Celebrity for 14 years. I am very close to being Zenith. I like AQ and Suites. With the cuts and rising prices I have booked cruises on MSC Yacht Club looking at Seabourn, and Oceania. I would never have done that before. Thank you Celebrity for making me get out of the box and look else where. It looks as if there are better alternatives and products for less cost that appeals and suits me better. Espresso Martini and once in a while one of the desert martinis. They are on the menu at the martini bar. I mostly drink Old Fashions made with bourbon. Or just Bourbon neat. Sometimes I will ask for a Kentucky mule ( using bourbon instead of vodka) or a mojito made with bourbon. If you like mimosas ask for one with a little Grand Marnier in it. I will also ask for some Grand Marnier in my old fashion for a change of taste that adds a little more orange flavor. Many drinks are basically the same but with a different spirit or a splash of something else. Ex tequila sunrise. It is a screw driver but uses tequila instead of vodka and a splash of grenadine for the color. Many drinks are the same but called something else depending on the garnish. Rum and coke, add a lime and it is a Cuba Libre. Use an olive, lemon twist, or onion in a martini and it is called something else. Citrus Mojito uses muddled orange with lime. Very good It is an oxymoron as lime is also citrus. Should be called a orange mojito Drink up 🍸🥂🥃🍷🧉🍾🍹

AQ on the Edge has an infinite balcony. Some love it and some hate it. SS have a regular Veranda We sail in both AQ and SS. We like the Persian Gardens on the S class. Not impressed with it on the Edge class. Used it 2 times when in AQ out of 4 cruises in AQ. Our last time in Luminae on the Beyond was hit and miss on the menu. They had a different breakfast menu than the other ships. The potato waffle was our favorite breakfast. As others mentioned you can also dine in Blu if you desire Larger cabin in a SS. If you move up you will only keep the perks you have but do get drinks in the Retreat Lounge but on the Retreat deck you get according to you drink pack if you have one. Only you can decide if it is worth it. if you want a suite look at what it would cost compared to a move up bid. This would allow you to pick your cabin, get the extra points and also all of the perks that come with it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Pay it as you go. There is no advantage. Why give your money to X in advance? It is like giving them a free loan. Chances are it may be on your next CC bill instead of the current one that is full of other travel expenses. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

It is in viewing distance of the port when the ship is docked. We would dine in Sushi on 5 and look at it when dining. It isn’t a part of the cruise. Some Captains may make a sail by. It depends on the traffic, and current and future weather conditions. It cannot go around it. One time we left the port early as it was needed to avoid some very bad weather that was brewing and coming in. Funny thing is everyone makes a big deal on the sail away but it is yesterdays news when sailing back. Same as the Verrazano Bridge. No one is out when sailing under it on the way back.
