  1. Sorry I can't remember, but Mardi Gras offers lots of new lunch alternatives the pre-Excel ships didn't, in case you want to try - I'll name a few but I'm sure others can add some I'm not thinking of... Shaq's Chicken, Shawarma, etc. Here's a link to a previous similar thread, and it incudes the Fun Times lunch offerings...
  2. It's called Comfort Inn Manhattan - Midtown West and is aways my choice when taking a cruise out of Manhattan. I'd say about a five-minute walk if you have a wheeled carry-on and backpack. But it's an easy, level walk in a safe part of town. If you want to add some real value to your vacation that contrasts with the Caribbean, stay a couple nights and explore Times Square which is only a ten-minute brisk walk. Lots of GREAT restaurants in the area. So much to do in Manhattan, IMO NYC is the only city in USA that competes with great cities of the world like Paris, Rome, Shanghai, etc. Every time I go I find I know less about it. If you plan to do Times Square, make sure you visit at night when the lights are all on.
  3. Correct, three air-to-air refuelings as detailed in jimbo's link. Great story, including the ending (boy is recovering).
  4. (20+) Video | Facebook sorry, but I'm overdue for some kind of Seinfeld-related contribution.
  5. jimbo inedible but not useless! drop da puck!🏒
  6. I agree the signage is terrible for uber/lyft. If they haven't changed it, you walk underneath the garage and make a left when you hit the concrete barricades and walk parallel to the barricades until you can get through.
  7. I like big butts and I cannot lie! Got $250 off Matilda's butt once.
  8. A meal without alcohol involved is like a day without sunshine. 😁 🏴‍☠️
  9. I agree the camera doesn't pick up the spooky, voodooey vibe after dark but seeing it in person is a creepy but cool experience, I thought. Hard to say but some of the shacks, signs, etc... you can almost smell the voodoo in the air. Thanks for sharing all of them.
  10. Thanks for sharing these, though they miss the later (better) part of the sailaway, on the serpentine delta. Nice sunset in the first one!
  11. I'd like to see one of these time-lapse sail-aways from NOLA, Manhattan and Venice.
  12. Maybe notsomuch, let's start the bidding for two tix at $9,450...
  13. I got the survey you describe and don't even have a future cruise booked. I responded, I can't imagine they'd make offers based on how much I say I'm going to gamble, but rather continue tracking how much gambling I actually do. Wondering about the purpose as well.
  14. Another vote for Jack's Shack. Although Jack and Topher are no longer running the show and excavating to China, it is still a chill vibe with authentic Caribbean music and a superior beach, seemingly a world apart from the madness just a couple football fields away from the Carnival fun.
  15. I agree - the experience is very nicely done on CT. I only did it once, and at that time I think it was $50? $70? I remember thinking Steakhouse had better quality food, although the CT was the "real deal" when it comes to the experience. Enjoyed them teaching us how to make the Melting Cake too. As for beets, I've never tasted dirt. But I would rather risk a spoon of dirt in my mouth than a bite of beets. Evil food.
  16. 😄😅😂🤣 Totally agree! Seuss Parade with the kids chanting "Dr. Seuss is on the loose!" all seriously marching, etc. is always a highlight of my cruise!
  17. You can either take the Cinque Terre train or hike over small mountains to and from the villages. I've done both and both are great experiences.
  18. Oops! I read her reply but somehow skipped right over Shaq's! Don't claw my eyes out!
