  1. The bubble may not have burst, but the balloon is definitely leaking and deflating - we will find out just how much in March.
  2. I can confirm that Celebrity has been excellent in ensuring I am not served foods to which I am allergic.
  3. That was December - this is January - prices have been raised and a third "tier" of wines has been manufactured.
  4. Thanks for posting - I look forward to your report from your cruise. Proof reading does not seem to happen these days! Did she realise that she contradicted herself with the above statements? All the wines on the Retreat Deck and in the Retreat Lounge are within the Premium Package. In the next paragraph : There are additional wines available for an upcharge. Obviously not all included within the Premium Package, as has been reported and continues to be reported by current cruisers.
  5. Looks like we may well be having l o n g dinners, instead of pre and post drinks while socialising in Michael's.
  6. Probably the fact that people who are now, or have recently sailed in suites, with Premium drinks packages are being charged the difference plus 20% gratuity on any drink priced above the limit of the drink package. There are numerous reports both on CC and other social media platforms.
  7. I didn't see the show, but on more than one occasion I have had to have the spelling of my name corrected. No major problem as I am well aware of the need for all documentation to have the same spelling of all names and have had it corrected promptly. Back in 1997, we did a "whistlestop" 21 day Globus tour of Europe. In the days before EU and instant access to information via internet, documentation in the form of visas was required for entry into several countries. On at least three separate occasions over several weeks, we asked our TA "are you sure we don't need visas for two eastern European countries" and he assured us we did not - yes we did, as we found out when arriving at the border of the first of those two. It was not a good experience and very embarrassing as we reboarded the bus where our fellow passengers had been kept in warm temperatures and our driver not allowed to run the a/c on the bus. Also much more expensive than it would have been had it been done before we left home. Subsequently we lost half a day chasing up the other visa we had been assured by our TA that we did not need.
  8. There seems to be much confusion and inconsistency from ship to ship and even from area to area on the same ship. There have been reports from those currently sailing, both on this forum and popular social media platforms, including - some are not charged extra, some have to sign chits for the upcharge and others have had no mention of the upcharge, but have found the charge on their account the next morning!
  9. Two weeks tomorrow since I emailed the "boss lady." It seems they off load to the local office and being Australia, much closes for the Christmas / New Year break, including Executive Escalations, APAC Region • Guest & Trade Services where my correspondence was forwarded for action. Back to work today and an email was sent to me this morning, in part : "The variety of beverages available onboard have been expanded and compared to our competitors we offer higher quality and a larger premium range of products offerings." (Had to disagree with that, as we are red wine drinkers and the offerings have been severely depleted within the Premium package. Seems to be plenty of whites though - about double the number of reds.) "Please be advised in your special amenities that you are able to enjoy complimentary beverages with no extra charge." Time will tell - I'll be back in early April after our cruise.
  10. Please stick close to your allocated time - it is allocated to avoid the chaos of everyone wanting to be first on board which we experienced recently when hundreds arrived well before boarding even started.
  11. Yes, of course! And we would isolate ourselves as we have done for many years on various cruise ships when one of us has caught a cold from others. We do care about the health of others and on more than one occasion thanks have been expressed by friends when DH has self isolated with a cold.
  12. I have had to complete a pretty basic questionnaire every time I have had a pedicure on any ship in any part of the world. Perhaps individual questionnaires could be formatted relevant to the different treatments?
  13. Our "book laters" (Eclipse, December 2022) have expired and been refunded. For the first time in our cruising life, we had no desire to book another during our October 2023 experience on Solstice. We will cruise in March on Solstice again, but if the experience is not better than October 2023, our remaining future bookings may well be cancelled. Currently looking at other cruise lines and land based trips.
  14. I have sent three, with no response to the first two. The third just sent an hour or so ago. Hoping third time lucky! 🤔
  15. Good luck getting a response! Nearly 2 weeks and no response at all, not even a non-committal "thank you for contacting Celebrity." Oh, wait, you and the previous poster are in USA, not Australia, so will probably receive phonecalls.
  16. I hope nobody obliges and your car remains in pristine condition!
  17. Sounds almost as bad as Sydney last October. So many people (not only Retreat guests) decided to ignore their allocated boarding times, arriving well before boarding was even scheduled to commence and it was absolute chaos!
  18. Unfortunately emailing them from Australia doesn't seem to garner the same response as emailing from USA. Case in point - drink upcharges - people in USA report receiving a phone call the same or next day. While I don't expect a phone call, I did expect a response to my email sent on 27 December.
  19. A recent report of a ship departing Brisbane if I remember correctly, at the time of embarkation had 11 couples without rooms. Accommodation was "found" on board for some, but not all. It seemed that those who lived locally were the ones who didn't get to sail.
  20. Find out whether the marijuana based medication is natural (hemp) or synthetic. Contact Celebrity! Give them a list of your sister's medications. Travel with all medications in their original packaging. Take the original prescriptions with you. Get a letter from your sister's doctor. If necessary get an alternative medication prescribed for the duration of your cruise. Good luck and enjoy your cruise with your sister!
  21. I emailed 3 days ago and have had no response. I did not expect a phone call, but did expect at least acknowledgement of my email.
  22. Yes, we are on the same Roll Call as you! 😊
