  1. To save anyone else the time spent looking, the photo is not on CruiseDeckPlans, nor the portside match 406.
  2. Didn't know there was such a thing. Do you remember where you got them? We cover with clear packing tape and staple. The tape keeps the staples from pulling through and losing the tag.
  3. I wondered that too, but used the search function and found this. Means they've done a, "live from" thread... assuming the poster was correct.
  4. I would begin a search for requirements here. https://www.princess.com/protocol/?fbclid=IwAR15FapmH1Hl74xuV39doqpqNUqsloaI7MtgyycJLQ2HddCercgIV2cuT_M Input your booking number and name for your cruise. You give two tips for the answer. "Through transit," and...Shingles? First, you're not going ashore anyway. Limited travel. The CDC page makes recommendations for every trip. Including Varicella. But you will stay on the ship. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/panama
  5. We've had noisy neighbors with non-connecting rooms and not hearing a peep from the people in a connecting room. I'd like to think those who can afford the time and money for a 40 day cruise are also the type that are more considerate of others and likely to content themselves with quiet pursuits than a three night bacchanal sailing, or a family with young kids acting out.
  6. I think 3 mbs is amazingly good for satelllite internet with many other passengers using the service at once. A decade ago, I was thrilled to be able to send and receive simple text emails and count the seconds for anything to happen on the screen.
  7. I saw Steve Morris perform a flamenco styled version of Classical Gas years ago. I saw him this August on a LA Hawaii run, so he is still around. If you are hoping to learn his schedule and possibly see him again, he has a FB page and you can watch him on DryBar Comedy. I get that through the Angel Studios App.
  8. We too recently completed a cruise on the Emerald. Agree, very light on the flavor. Many of the desserts used a mousse. A lot air bubbles whipped into whatever flavor. Also noticed less use of sugar than desserts usually in the US, more like desserts I've had in Europe or Asia. Not saying that's good or bad, just different. I am not good making pastry, but surely a flaky pastry recipe can be found. How to make a pistachio mousse as well. Good luck!
  9. And here we go again! No disrespect to you asking, mlsetc. These formal night threads have the potential to become disputatious. I'd go with what Princess recommends, not because the suggestions say so, but because in our experience, British Isle cruises tend to be a bit dressier than, let's say, a Caribbean cruise. OTOH, it's your vacation, which you shouldn't feel pressured to dress if you don't want to. Just don't wear shorts or T shirt, ball cap in the dining room. I have seen a guy refused at the door.
  10. I had to look up what a Rollator was, so you know the situation best. Enjoy your cruise!
  11. Your thread reminds me that I think the forward cabins on the Lido have been our favorite, in part because no elevators needed to get to the pools, Salty Dog Grill, Pizza or the buffet on most ships. Good for those with mobility issues. The cabin doors are narrow. Consider as this might be an issue.
  12. Actually, they are. The fish that are tossed at Pike's Place are not sold according to the guy who works there. They're just for show. He told me throwing and catching damages the fish.
  13. To my limited understanding of your situation, which may be incorrect and which you "won't go into," changing your name legally is not a solution. The printing on the Medallion is so small no one else can read it from a casual distance. Passenger Services can print and issue you a new one, because batteries go dead all the time. A word to your steward is sufficient; meaning how you prefer to be called. One visit to Passenger Services and they might be able to change how your file comes up.
  14. For ages 13-17, Remix should be a good place for her to hang out. Many that age like Slice, the Lido deck Pizza place and the soft serve ice cream, along with the above mentioned Salty Dog Grill, all of which are included in the cruise fare. Finding something to eat for young tastes is not a problem. We have done this itinerary several times out of LA. Couple things to consider. First, as noted above, lots of sea days. Good onboard entertainment is key. They have not posted their schedule for '25 yet, but whichever ship or embarkation point, do a search for Eluamusic. Second, the Ruby carries 500 more passengers than the Grand. Again, Hawaii is not a port intensive cruise. You are on the ship for up to six days at a stretch. The lines and crowds everywhere on the Ruby, (and sisters Crown and Emerald) begin to strain my tolerance over time.
  15. Generally, It seems Princess is not big on bringing darker styles onboard, like porters, marzens and stouts. But ask around different bars. Good luck!
  16. Could be, but the case cannot be opened. In that case, they just printed your names, ship and dates on new Medallions. Either that or the code inside did not sync to your cabin/account. That they could fix on their computer. On longer cruises the batteries lose their juice. I had one replaced on an 18 day.
  17. I agree with you, but the title of this thread is, "New to Princess and Hungry. I didn't want the OP to be searching for a Patter and wondering what one is. I'll have to admit that I got the name wrong too. It's Princess Event Listings.
  18. Agree with finding times on the Daily Event Planner. It's not called the Patter anymore. As far as what's for lunch and dinner. The menu for lunch is posted outside the MDR where lunch is served. Outside one of the other MDR's, the dinner menu will be posted. The App has been know to be wrong. Go with the posted menu.
  19. What is SBC? Wording suggests some sort of onboard credit?
  20. You didn't mention the Coral, and that would be first choice, because smaller is better in Alaska. Yes, it too goes to Glacier Bay. Otherwise agree with previous posters for their reasons.
  21. This move toward less included dining and other items that were previously included reminds me of EasyCruise line, where they tried à la carte pricing on everything onboard to attract a younger crowd. They lasted about five years.
  22. This is your first cruise with Princess and some anxiety is understandale. Generally, people make their feelings/fears then search for reasons to justify them. You found what you wanted to see. After 16 cruises with Princess, I agree with the above posters. Two of those were on the Ruby and sister ship Emerald.
  23. Here is a video from last year aboard the Sky Princess for a Norway cruise on a Formal Night. Look in the background and you can see that some are dressed as Princess requests and some dressed casual. Personally, I'd at least wear a wool sportcoat and slacks because as you say, it can get cold there going out on deck before or after dinner. https://youtu.be/_aOTVkYoZTY?feature=shared
  24. As a Mason, I will answer. Officers wear a tuxedo at meetings. The point, I suspect, was that Masons own them, not rented, nor bought cheaply either. As it is worn frequently, few would buy a cheap polyester one. Nobody wants to sit in a meeting wearing what feels like a plastic bag.
