  1. First of all....as in the title of this thread...C&A is Royal. Captain's club is Celebrity. You were asking about the Radiance class. Also Royal...not Celebrity. Yes, I was on topic. I have cruises booked on Royal and Celebrity...but am stacking it up more on Viking. So...yes, I check all three forums. Let's take a more simple example of opinions. A wise man once quoted....how can you have an opinion of an apple if you have never seen one, touched one, or tasted one.
  2. Hi Frank! Hopefully someday we will finally get to sail with the two of you! 🙂 We are on Enchantment out of Tampa this October on the 26th. We indeed stop in Falmouth, and are happy to do so, since we have not been there in quite some time. Also the Caymans, same thing. 🥰
  3. So you have never sailed on Royal before...can definitely see that now. Interesting you are so involved on this thread. 😄 Yes, believe it or not...Radiance class is still sailing. All four sisters. I am on one of them right now in Iceland. The Serenade World Cruise.
  4. Earthquake and large fissure volcanic eruption here in Iceland where we are overnighting. Our long tour in the exact area, ended just 2 hours before the earthquake hit at 8:30 pm last night. They were already on alert in the area. We are safe here in Reykjavik, and actually slept through it. Tours today cancelled.
  5. Where do you get your information? Pulled out of thin air? Your understanding is wrong. There are many cruises departing from Amsterdam in 2025, including cruises with Celebrity Cruises, P&O Cruises, Holland America Line, and Viking River Cruises: Celebrity Cruises The Celebrity Eclipse offers 7-night and 12-night cruises to Europe in 2025, including departures on June 16–23, July 27–August 3, and April 27–May 9. The Celebrity Xcel will also debut in the Caribbean in November 2025. P&O Cruises The N513 cruise departs on June 10, 2025, and the N503 cruise departs on February 23, 2025. The N503 cruise includes an overnight stay in Amsterdam on February 24–25, 2025. Holland America Line The Nieuw Statendam offers a 14-night cruise to Europe in 2025. Viking River Cruises The Viking Eir and Viking Tialfi offer 9-night cruises to Europe in 2025. The Viking River Cruises also offers cruises from Amsterdam to Antwerp in 2025 and onward.
  6. Same thing for us, as we are moving away from Royal for that reason and the cheapening of the product. We still have the smaller ships left in our booking (EX and Radiance) but are happily moving to other lines...mostly Viking, but now also have a few X cruises booked. Considering other sister line Silverseas as well.
  7. My DH hates that awful commercial stuff on the wall. It makes his hair (and he has really thick hair) look like Bozo the clown. 🤡
  8. No worries about having opinions...obviously there is huge amount of that on these threads. 😉 But it is also my right to have an opinion of why does a little gold badge cause such animosity in so many. I mean really...why should anyone care if some like to wear them. Big whoop. And no, I don't care if someone is wearing a ball cap...that is what they like to do. And yes, I would never consider saying something...so if that is shutting up...so be it. Third world problem.
  9. Not very often we don't do a suite, but the rare times we are just a balcony...they never gave us anything but the "all purpose" stuff in a single bottle on the wall. I still don't use what they supply...balcony or full suite. I bring my own.
  10. The wearing of pins is a kind of "to be or not to be". If one likes to wear their pin, more power to them. If others don't want to wear it...so be it....don't wear it. Why should anyone care what they do? There is no wrong or right....good or evil onto which decision that person should make. So what? Live and let live. 😇
  11. Indeed...I could probably push it. It's just housekeeping being cheap...but I don't like their products anyway and always bring my own. I even bring my own bar soaps. Don't like their baby soap chips. 😉
  12. No...quite different. But they do have a lot of canals...with lots of tours on them. A few pics from our visit there. We had lunch at an old tower turned restaurant. They do a big business with Dutch pancakes. 🙂 One boat was a floating "bar". Should have snagged that one. 😉
  13. Yeah, the mayor of Amsterdam got involved also. I just can't figure out their total lack of security at the lock. It's government property, and a tied up ship is a sitting duck. That does not happen in ports.
  14. Must be nice. As a Pinnacle we don't get anything...even when I asked. Only when we are in a GS and above...which is most of the time. But when I can't get a suite...the "all in one caustic body wash" is all you get. Now I always bring my own...even in a suite (don't like the new products in those either). Though the lotion is nice still.
  15. Excellent! Enjoy! We got a kick out of walking around the city. So much activity...and I am not talking cars. Many trains, huge train station, lots of canals with various types of boats/ferries...and a massive amount of bicycles of all sorts.
  16. Happy you made it in without hassle. We on Serenade tried to come in a day early, got into the lock, tied up....then had to drop the lines and back out. Protestors blocking the lock opening operation. We had to go back out to sea and sit there all day until the city officials, and the police got involved (finally) to stop the trespassing and destruction/vandalism the protestors were doing at the locks.
  17. LOL...what comes around goes around. I am thinking of the movie "The Postman" with Kevin Costner. 😉
  18. You must be in a suite? Got confused at first when you mentioned D+ and the suite's lounge access. We are happy with our six vouchers and bar hopping around the ship also. 🙂
  19. I like the way Crocodile Dundee communicated to his fellow mates that were miles away. 😄
  20. Me too. And I wear a watch and use a bedside clock in the cabin. 😄 The old ways are still good enough for me. 😉
  21. I am putting suggestions for less salt in the dining room food with each survey on Royal ships. Geezz...sometimes it's all you can taste. So why have salt shakers on the table at all??!! 😛
  22. I can tell you this...we won't do another WC if RCI offers one. Too overpriced and not up to normal standards indeed. We are still on the ship, having done the first quarter (63 nights) then rejoined to do last quarter (62 nights) back to Miami. 274 would have been too much for us, and even doing half the WC...we are ready to go home.
