  1. My ex wife is Canadian. We went to her family reunion in Cape Breton in 2007. We had to pay 40.00 for a lobster dinner at the firehouse. It included the lobster, sides and dessert. After I ate the lobster, I was then asked was I ready for my 2nd lobster. I was stunned, they were HUGE and delicious. I ended up freezing some of it and we brought it back with us to Ontario and made lobster Mac N Cheese.
  2. Here is a link to the last VLOG I did on Equinox in September 2019. This was our last cruise before the world shut down.
  3. Hi. I've seen you on the roll call, maybe you're on a private excursion with us? Please feel free to chime in on any of your experiences on this cruise.
  4. What are your thoughts on bringing back some Olive Oil from Italy( Rome or Florence or Capri?) I cook nightly and I love quality ingredients. I know I can buy just about anything here in Los Angeles, so do I even bother with schlepping EVOO home? I prefer to buy consumables rather than souvenir type things. We're also planning a cross country move next year.
  5. Hi!! I know we're still over a week out, however we do leave for Rome on September 12th. I want to get this topic started to answer your questions while I have great internet at home. I'm Randi and Julie is my wife. We live in a North suburb of LA county and this cruise is celebrating Julie's retirement from the Los Angeles Police Department. She retired as a Sgt on August 10th after 34 years with the department. We're also celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary which will actually be two days after the cruise ends. I'm pretty sure we got a really great price on this cruise as we used FCC from 2 previously cancelled cruises( Dec 2020 and September 2021). The December 2020(Touch canal) cruise gave us 125 percent and we moved that to the September 2021(Iberian Peninsula) cruise. When that was cancelled, we received a partial refund and we were told we could pick another cruise itinerary on Reflection( there was another ship we could choose, I can't remember at the moment). Even if the cruise was more expensive( it was), we would not be charged the difference. I believe we paid around 9500.00 for a sky suite with all 4 perks. We also have 1850 OBC. I used some of that to book 3 excursions and to upgrade the internet. I received the move up offer today, however I won't be bidding. A sky suite is fine for us. This will be our first time in a suite on Celebrity. Our previous cruises on Celebrity have all been in Aqua Class. I'm a bit of a foodie( albeit a picky foodie) so I am looking forward to Luminae. Julie is very picky with a much more limited palette than me. She would be fine eating pizza most nights. I have a feeling, she'll be ordering the kids filet more than once. We have a busy week with a lot of appointments before we check into the LAX airport Hilton on Sunday. We're flying business class to Rome via JFK. Our flight leaves at 7am and arrives at 7am on the 12th. I've booked an AirBNB "steps from the colosseum". I booked the airbnb the night before so we can check in as soon as we arrive. One of our appointments this week is bringing our two Standard Poodles in for grooming. We have a 10yr old standard wirehair dachshund too, he'll also be groomed. It feels like I've been planning for months for this cruise. We have some fun excursions booked( 2 private excursions) and 3 ship excursions. We have a full schedule for our 3 days in Rome, including an evening food tour and an Ebike tour. Here is a photo of us, I'm wearing the dress : ) Enjoy pics of my big poodle boys, Toby and Sully.
  6. We just received our offer for a Sept 16th cruise. 10 days away. The prices are RIDICULOUS.
  7. Wow, I wonder why we haven't received the same. Our cruise departs on Sept 16th.
  8. I was actually being facetious. With that being said, When I tried to check in online, I could not get an earlier time.
  9. When we did our Alaska cruise( in fact, all our X cruises) we were in AQ, so we had Blu. There are some options in the buffet that you can't get in Blu( I wanted grits, I can't remember which ship we were on that brought me some, and which didn't). I think the pancakes in Blu, are "blueberry" or Vanilla and on the buffet, they are plain. You can't get hash browns( the triangle) in Blu( unless they bring it for you). Sometimes, we wanted a quicker breakfast, so we just went to OV. Blu tended to be more leisurely.
  10. When you were talking about the food in the MDR, did you mean the OV buffet?
  11. Ugggg, all this talk had me go and look at our 10:30am flight on September 26th. There is NOTHING I can do to change it. I'll have to pray that the flight is delayed or we get there in plenty of time.
  12. So, I'm guessing if you're in a sky suite, you basically get nothing( except a slightly larger room)!! I haven't had anyone email me asking me any questions regarding likes/dislikes on our upcoming Reflection cruise. LOL.
  13. On every celebrity cruise that I've been on( except a 5 day), there has always been a laundry special. We bring a tiny bottle of detergent and wash out in the sink.
  14. Does Reflection have a Pickleball court?
  15. What are you leaving? We'll be on Reflection on the 16th. LOL. We'll leave some too.
  16. When I saw the cabin that Jim posted, I was confused. They specifically said on the video they were eating in Blu. Maybe they were invited because they're bloggers? Could they have made up the story for clickbait?
  17. I'd love to know too, we're going home on a Monday.
  18. We have a 10:30am flight on September 16th from Rome to NYC. We're in a Suite so I hope we can walk off early. We have a cab waiting for us and another couple at 6:30am.
  19. This statement is not necessary or helpful. Check out these boards, there is a lot of "griping" going on about NUMEROUS things. I don't think its right to single out this topic and attack the OP.
  20. We always bring a bag of pretzels and some chocolate( and nuts). I don't care HOW much I was craving a reeces, I'd slather some PB on one of those turn down chocolate squares before I spent 5 bucks on a PB cup.
