  1. It depends on the specifics of the promo. In the past, most of these promos were tied to ‘booking’ a cruise or purchases in the cruise planner of an existing booking would also qualify. The merchant code and type of transaction need to qualify for the AMEX promo. If you know you will be able to use the Celebrity gift card soon, there is low risk?
  2. Embarkation port makes a difference. Personal experience at San Pedro/LA. Green line wait was at least 45 MINUTES.
  3. Yes, previously future cruise would provide a ‘list’ of close-in sailings departing within the next 90-100 days that are discounted. When I was on Enchanted last May and June, I was told they no longer produce this ‘list’, but will be able to tell you which future sailings are ‘discounted’. Previously the discounts were 25-50% off the Princess.com fare. Was told the sailings are limited and inventory changes rapidly, so the ‘list’ would be outdated quickly. There is are previous threads regarding this issue, as this question is asked frequently. When this promo was originally released when the third party company O.N.E. was contracted to handle the Future Cruises administration and now Captains Circle(loyalty), some sailings offered were more than 90-100 days in the future, but I believe now back to close-in date. This promo can be discontinued at any time. Buying future cruise deposits are a no lose situation since they are fully refundable at any time till they expire, then are automatically refunded to original form of payment unless that credit card has been closed, then a check will be issued.
  4. Thank you for the clarification, I just reviewed the FAQ on Princess.
  5. I thought Princess will allow the booking on minors in their own cabin as long as they were adjacent to the ‘adults’ cabin? This way, the child’s cabin would not need to purchase any package? Since you are already booked, Princess usually allows the changing of passenger names as long as 1 of the original 2 remain in the cabin. Does this make sense for your situation? Else will Princess allow only the adults to purchase package even in different cabins as previous post suggested? Of course you will ask Guest Services to allow Medallions access to both cabins.
  6. @ericosmith, there is the difference of the ‘internet’ and the ships ‘intranet’ which the Medallion APP uses which is why ‘internet’ access is not needed to use the Medallion APP.
  7. @ev98, my sailing is 8/11 out of Boston. I received my Medallion yesterday, passengers from Canada posted they received theirs about a week earlier, so shipping seems to vary, but deliveries for me have been about 10-12 days before sailing. The missing medallion passenger will probably be issued a cruise card to board, then instructed to go to Guest Services to pick up replacement. Is missing medallion in same cabin with passenger who received medallion? Probably does not matter, but I suggest they go with passenger with Medallion in Green lane, especially if planning on arriving to terminal check in early. Guest Services will be very busy on Day1, so suggest you try to board as early as possible. Does not hurt to ask if they will issue $10 OBC for Medallion delivery that did not happen.
  8. @Abr2026, my understanding is refundable and non refundable fares refer to the DEPOSIT. I believe Royal and Celebrity refundable total cruise fares are higher than the non refundable deposit cruise fare, but the deposit amount is the same for both unless if booking a suite? The key is if you book refundable fare, you can cancel before final payment date and receive full refund of your deposit. Since you are looking at a sailing past final payment date, you are required to pay in full and are already in cancellation fees windows. I do not believe you will be offered a refundable fare option after final payment date. If you cancel, you are subject to the cancellation fee schedule, so yes, you can possibly get some of the fare ‘refunded/returned’.
  9. @poinsettiaplate, Celebrity offers B2B passengers extra discount on each cruise depending on length of your sailings. If you are using a TA, they will assist in getting these applied to your bookings.
  10. I was on the Eclipse last November and purchase 2 Cruise later deposits. I booked 2 sailings for November of this year in April using the certificates as the deposit. When I bought the cruise later deposits, I did not want them to automatically be assigned to the TA I used for the current sailing, so the bookings would be with Celebrity. When I submitted the transfer request to the TA I wanted to have the booking, I immediately received a ‘denial’ response saying the transfer request needed to be done within 30 or 60 days of acquiring the cruise later deposit. I called Celebrity and explained, how can I transfer if I have not even booked the cruise yet, so would not know which TA I want to use. The agent checked and came back saying they found info saying the timer starts once I selected the cruise, so they will refer my request to department that can get this done. My bookings were eventually transferred to my requested TA. I purchased about $2000 in Celebrity gift cards in $500 and $100 values(thru AARP) and you have to use the ENTIRE face value of the card, so no partial balances are left when u apply a card. Example, your final balance due is $878. If you used 1 $500 card and 4 $100 cards, you will lose $22 value of $100 card since the entire $100 card will be considered ‘used’ even though only $78 will be charged to it. No remaining/partial balances are left. So in this case, use only 1 $500 card and 3 $100 cards and pay remaining $78 via credit card. FYI, Princess and Carnival allow you to have a partial/remaining balance on your gift cards. Final payment is this month and the beginning of next month. I forwarded my TA copies of the gift cards and they forwarded to Celebrity for processing. I believe Celebrity says to allow up to 10 business days for them to do so. Celebrity has processed the cards for my first booking and are in the process of applying the others for the booking where final payment is the beginning of next month. I only had the cruise later as the initial deposit on these bookings, and Celebrity allowed me to use gift cards to pay the entire final payment which includes taxes and fees. @N.Ice, please see above.
  11. Many and this includes the Casino on Princess, allow you to ‘charge’ against your folio, much like a credit card. The daily limit can be in the thousands.
  12. As long as you have booked your EZAir flights BEFORE final payment when you will also pay for EZAir Flexible air reservations. Restricted reservations require immediate payment upon booking. Your EZAir balance due becomes part of your final payment amount which you can use gift cards to pay. Remember if you cancel your Flexible EZAir before 45 days of sail date or first flight, the refund will go back to gift cards, so keep records.
  13. I seem to recall Royal has discontinued its relationship with Ben & Jerry’s, so it is no longer offered?
  14. @anngi, make sure to have a paper copy of the gift cards if you will be redeeming on board at guest services, they require a copy.
  15. @Canuker, I sailed on Enchanted in May and June for 14 nights doing B2B’s. All 4 seven day sailings were ‘sold out’ and the passenger counts were in the 4000 range. 100% double occupancy is 3660, so many 3 and 4 cabins were filled. Take5 still has lounge/seating area available by the bar. The whole area is non smoking, but smoke can enter when someone enters thru the door that connects to the casino. The slot machines take up about 50% of the space.
  16. If you have a direct booking, and you did not transfer booking to outside Travel agency, you can go into your cruise Personalizer and click on payments Tab, there you will have option to input gift card, credit card, PayPal.
  17. The details of the promo are clearly listed on Princess.com. Everything is automatic as long as your cruise is Aug1-Dec1 2024 and you added Plus or Premier at least 2 days before sailing date, also if you booked before promo was released/announced. Stop by future cruise during your cruise to verify, but should be automatically done. No cruises that qualify yet, so will be interesting to see if any passengers post they did not receive ‘double the love’ automatically.
  18. I was under the impression your credit card does not get charged until they actually process the order for shipping a few weeks before sailing? This is when you should received the email, your medallion is on the way, kinda, as it really is the order processed confirmation which also shows any charges. Sometimes is get a follow up email with tracking number.
  19. @trbarton, you can see details regarding ‘double the love’ promo on the Princess website. In a nutshell, for cruises departing August 1-December 1 2024, buy Plus or Premier bundled package(not the standalone drink package) at least 2 days before sailing date. You will receive ‘double’ cruise credits and double the days sailed. There is no promo code or anything else you need to do. If you booked and have the packages in your booking ‘before’ the promo was released/announced, you are also covered/enrolled in the promo, if your sailing falls in the timeframe listed.
  20. Why not pay entire balance using gift cards. The Princess gift cards allow a ‘remaining’ balance if you do not use the FULL face value of the card. Print the e-card and bring with you on your sailing and you can go to Guest services and have it added to your ‘account/folio’ to offset any on board charges like daily gratuities, etc. Guest services will want a hard copy/print of the e-card for their records. Make note of the remaining balance on the card. If your cruise is very far in the future and the balance is very small, after applying gift cards, then using credit card to pay any remaining balance would be recommended. Fyi, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity gift cards do not allow partial amount of gift card to be used, you use entire face value and will lose any remaining balance. Carnival cruise gift cards also allow a ‘remaining’ balance and can also be redeemed on board via Guest services and their Kiosks.
  21. Hi, I was on Enchanted in May and June and on both Embarkation days, they held MDR lunch with the ‘normal’ embarkation menu, shrimp/avocado, salmon, beef tenderloin, etc. not the ‘newish’ sea day lunch menu. I see the posted Patter from Day1, shows they had lunch in Amalfi from 12-1:30.
  22. If you do not ORDER your Medallion thru the APP, the default is you will pick up at the port. For those who do not have to pay for Medallion shipping, you still need to order it thru the APP or calling if you do not have the APP. When you order your Medallion, you will select pick up at port or mail to an address. I believe if you will be charged, it is charged when the Medallion has shipped, about a few weeks before sailing. Where did you see being in a suite entitles you to complimentary shipping of your Medallion?
  23. If you ask nicely, you can have more than one APP. Was on Enchanted last May and June and visited Catch twice as my 2 Specialty dinners with Premier pkg. Enjoyed the crab cake appetizer so much the first visit, server brought them and another appetizer for me on second visit.
  24. For the current situation, it is a downgrade offer for the SAME sailing, so the OP normally will receive the fare they paid minus taxes and fees as refundable on board credit. In my experience with a ‘move over’, you give up your cabin for the specified sailing and are offered to choose from select future sailings in same category and will receive refundable on board credit on the future sailing of the cruise fare you paid. I think they adjust taxes and fees based on your give up sailing and the future cruise.
  25. My friend brought a router on a previous sailing. The router is logged in and then it becomes the ‘home’, you then have to connect to the name you assigned to your router. All will need to be physically close to the router, so you do not just connect and roam around. So I guess fine if you want to connect multiple devices in one spot for a period of time.
