We mostly call them tips here too in the US 🙂 Gone are the days of discretion, and sadly, I fear for all the staff who would likely get ZERO if it wasn't enforced. Very true that the living wage just doesn't happen for most wait staff/service people in the US...but that's the way it is and will likely stay for the foreseeable future. teddie

Well even if it’s “just” something like a broken hip, I feel for that injured passenger and family. Another reason to purchase the extra medical rider on your travel insurance which covers your return to your hospital of choice vs the nearest appropriate US port. No — I am not an insurance agent. I was an admissions RN for a well-known rehabilitation hospital in NJ and learned just how much it costs to medical-evacuate someone from a far-away state back to your home. I’ve become a singe malt scotch girl—just one every few days; neat, thank you very much 😊. We haven’t cruised for a good while and will be sailing on the Anthem. My preferences are Balvenie or Mcallan. Will I find either of those on board? And are top shelf liquor choices the same across all the RCI ships? If I use my Diamond voucher, will I just be charged the difference, as I expect one scotch will cost more than $13? Thank you in advance. teddie

Thank you! I received the email to bid and I was 74 days out. We already have a balcony cabin in a good location so I skipped the large balcony cabin and bid on a JS and a GS. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I get either as my bids are on the low side. But we shall see.

So a mock booking for my cruise says suites are sold out, yet it gives me the option on the Royal Up to bid on a JS, GS, or OS. What’s up with that? teddie

Jeeze. The staff work their tails off. They are likely REQUIRED to be that attentive and their jobs may be at stake. Have some compassion and just say, “thank you, everything is wonderful”, and then resume your conversation. #firstworldproblem

I would have never booked at the full price for our 2/4/23 Anthem cruise...but I couldn't pass up the Black Friday deal yesterday for the Beach Club for $78.99 pp. (50% off). It looks absolutely gorgeous, and the upscale menu was a great selling point for us at that price point. It's going to be our first time there, and we are looking forward to it! PS There are a good number of YouTube videos with detailed walk-throughs, should anyone wish to check them out.

I’m not complaining. Yesterday, I purchased passes to Coco Beach Club for 50% off and also knocked about $80 off the Voom internet package. Beach Club offer is now sold out. The prices are outrageous to start with for sure, but I need internet for work and the beach club itself and the menu choices look good at the half-price offer.

We booked this promo and received all three discounts: Diamond balcony, NJ resident, and the 30%. Definitely call back.

OK. I will have maybe one alcoholic drink max per day, and my husband doesn''t drink at all. He will definitely go for the special coffee drinks with the vouchers. Can any one give the size of the bottled water that is included on the voucher? PS We are still fun even tho we don't drink too much LOL Teddie
