Is there a crew fund on Oceania?
-
I don't mean to create havoc but could you be a bit more specific about the issues for St Petersburg? I'll be on the Voyager after you depart an am curious as to what to expect.
I have not been in that part of the world in many years.
Thanks . . . . Peggy

Jackie,
I have not been on the Voyager in 4+ years. I have been on the Mariner (2011+2013) and the Navigator (2011+2012) so I have not seen the "new" arrangement.
Looking forward to seeing the changes . . .

Thanks for the update Mr DelRio

Mr DelRio,
Where does Oceania stand regarding Park West? Will it continue on those ships or is the new policy Prestige fleet-wide?
Thanks in advance . . . .

One more point: for the most part, the single supplement is 200%.
I'm glad your daughter can be with you 2012 Alaska Bound!

At this point, I have no plans to sail on Viking - I'm enjoying the names of the ships though.
One RVL perk I enjoy still is meeting people - both passengers and crew - on other lines who are ex-RVL people. Nice to talk about old times and to find out about old friends.

Thanks Rich . . . .

This will be my 2nd Oceania cruise so I don't qualify for any of this . . . . just have to keep sailing.
I'll check my docs when they arrive . . . .
Thanks for the information.

I would agree with Keith - Goree Island was interesting, we were not given time to shop there but I'm sure Keith is right about that too - less pressure than on the pier.
I would agree about wandering around downtown.
The crafts are very interesting and well worth checking out.

Thanks LHT28 and pacheco18 for all the information.
I looked on line in my booking information and found nothing. I'll check back at a later date and with my TA and if nothing shows up, I'll talk to the computer person when I board.

What is the cost of internet on board?
Thanks in advance . . . . Peggy

golfer21,
I was there about 4 years ago - on the Voyager. I checked my diary and don't have any notes from the stop.
Tell me again when your trip is and I'll look at the tours offered and maybe it will og my memory.

Who are the current CD's? Jamie Logan, Lorraine (can't spell her last name) and Ray. Anyone else?
It's been a year since I've sailed on Regent so I'm probably not up to date.

Rich,
and 40 years later (good heavens!) it was still Unforgettable.
(You must have been a toddler)

They will take US$ and yes, you should bargain. There is a very good crafts market on the pier.
I took the Goree island tour (albeit on a different cruise line) and enjoyed it.

Rich,
As always thanks for all the wonderful postings. This last tour sounds marvelous.
No dry eyes here with your comments about the JAR kids and the Cruise Staff . . .glad for everyone.
I hope you all have a good last sea day (enjoy Krew Kapers! and the Beatles Dance Party), easy travels and I look forward to your next cruise!

Hi Rich,
Thanks for the "Terry" update . . . . glad to hear she'll be back. And to know Jamie's and Dana's as well. And to know the "second Captain" is doing well too.
Continue to enjoy!

Hi Rich,
Is Terry returning to the Navigator at some point after your cruise?
As always, I'm enjoying your postings . . . . sounds like things are going well.
Have a great trip and know I'll be reading.

Franck will be on the Navigator this summer. I have no idea of the dates though.

Regent is another line which has a Crew Fund to be used as YoHoHo describes.
Too bad since there are so many crew/staff who are a great job but are not specifically in contact with the passengers,
