  1. In looking at itineraries on Regent, I have seen a couple that note a reduction of cost if you do not use their flights. We generally use miles. Is the savings available on all itineraries or only a select number? From experience, is it a better option to just go all in with Regent including flights?
  2. Sailing with ‘many under 10s’, or even ‘10-20’ is surprising to me. That is not something I would expect.. ..
  3. I am looking at an itinerary that is quite compelling. Some that I have viewed offer ‘port to port’, but some itineraries only list ‘door to door’. Is the ‘door to door’ option available for all itineraries, or is there only a limited number available and then no longer? Thank you
  4. Longterm, I just went into my iPhone settings. Cellular. There are two options in blue color. convert to eSim add eSim when I click on add, it goes to my provider, ATT. I didn’t go further. Is this an economical route, or best to purchase separately? Thank you
  5. Huge bummer. I would have been disappointed big time. This is for a small port in Croatia so not as likely I would not think as Alaska, but we would still like to do one of them.
  6. Thank you for the link for this adaptor. It was on my list of boxes to still check!
  7. We are trying to decide between a couple of excursions on our cruise next month that are on smaller boats. Do Seabourn excursions often sell out prior to sailing?
  8. The Apple Air Tags, just this month, received FAA approval to place in luggage. ‘The devices only contain 0.1 grams of lithium which falls below the FAA limit’ was in the news release. I saw the news release by CNN dated 3 April when I was researching whether to purchase them. Still considering whether to or not. We always roll everything and also use packing cubes. First used them for safari in Africa and have used them ever since on trips where we are moving to different places/hotels. Makes finding items so much easier. Since we will be flying to Venice 5 days prior to sailing we will likely use them for that portion as many items won’t be used until we board the ship.
  9. Well Moby Jones, you certainly paint a picture that I didn’t expect. Thank you for sharing. It is really important to us to have realistic expectations prior to making a decision on whom we sail. Maybe in time things will improve, but this does not sound very inviting.
  10. Thank you. I looked closer and you are correct. It looks like their Mediterranean itineraries don’t really begin until May. We are really looking for April next year due to a special birthday. Atlas intrigues me though so I want to keep and eye on them. I moved here in ‘79 when my kids were babies. It has certainly changed a lot since then! They and their families remain local, so we did as well.
  11. I was trying to navigate their website for 2024 Mediterranean itineraries after receiving this week their 2023 brochure. It was not an easy process. The brochure showed some great options but only through Oct ‘23. Any updates?
  12. Same same. Mediterranean is my target for 2024 but nothing yet before August?
  13. Thank you for this information. I read somewhere that at some of the museums and sites that taxis were not readily available, so my second thought was Uber. Did you find them easily accessed at most places? Did taxis take credit cards? I just cancelled a private excursion we had booked when friends were able to travel with us. Unfortunately they had to cancel and the cost for two is just more than our comfort zone so trying to come up with a ‘plan B’.
  14. We have a really long day and night in Malta. We have never been. Has anyone used Uber there and if so how well did that work? ‘thank you
  15. Mercruiser that seems like a really good piece of advice. Thank you
  16. Where is the best place to purchase these? Are the directions for use pretty straightforward? Thanks for all your advise on this option
  17. We were able to secure a fair price on Seabourn last summer for this upcoming cruise - significantly less than Viking, which we have very much enjoyed and would gladly sail again. Would be interesting I think, for all to compare notes afterwards. Itinerary drives us - but right behind that is the overall experience of the sailing and all that entails.
  18. Fair enough for sure lisiamc. I really appreciate this detail. This sincerely does help quite a bit. I understand familiarity and the reassurance that provides. I appreciate the differences that you point to - - and particularly agree with bringing on varied wines from different parts of the world. While the smaller cabins bathrooms are something to consider for people with less mobility or various reasons, the entry level suite tends to be less or equal than others per diem. glad there are shuttles for those of us who prefer diy. We have felt the same about the crew on the Viking cruises we have done. They will bend over backwards. We are getting ready to experience Seabourn so we will see but looking forward to the experience. There are three Azamara itineraries we have on our radar for 2024 so these posts are helpful. Thank you OP for starting.
  19. I am curious about some of the differences that Azamara brings to the table over Say Viking and Seabourn - other than itineraries? I keep reading that Azamara is all about destinations - and that is easy to see with their itineraries which is why we are looking. I also hear about the great crew. But what about the comparison of food, transportation in ports such as shuttles, personal space and ability to find that, pool areas, and quality of wines?
  20. That is a big game changer. At least for us. Thank you. This is a great rivers update thread - and comparing with Oceans. We agree with the positive Oceans comments - space, openness, etc…..but rivers takes you to such different places. The new Lyon, Provence, and Rhineland looks pretty interesting. Trying to figure out how that transfer works.
