  1. For me, they don’t feel as crowded as some of the smaller ships. But that also depends on what you are doing. For example, we have been on the celebration 3 times. We love comedy. My wife and I get to the club 10 minutes before a show and have no problems finding a seat. Because they have multiple shows every night. I also think the ships are broken into different areas well so not everyone has to be in the same area. That’s not to say there aren’t lines. I just feel like I wait in line less on the celebration overall.
  2. 1) Yes. To the bar itself. Not the outside part. 2) It’s on deck 6 between Java blue and the center stage
  3. We get our time dining every time but never have an issue going to dinner early (6:00 or so) if we want. You just use the Hub app to queue up for dinner and it lets you know when the table is ready. If you want to try and switch to early, go to the dining room on embarkation day and talk to the matre d to see if you can switch
  4. Totally agree. On the FB groups I get on for each sailing, by the end of the cruise, you’d think we were taken over by bands of marauding adults and kids. I’m sure people experience or see bad behavior. But I also think that some people are not happy unless they are complaining. Or they are not happy unless they are judging others. Why people care so much about what others are doing is beyond me. As far as Carnival getting a bad rap, sure. But these ships are full and the vast majority of people are having a great time. If people didn’t have fun, unless something happened like their AC didn’t work, that’s their fault.
  5. Right, but there are quite a few $1 bets at a crap table so if you don’t make a single $15 bet, they are going to make you bet a total of $15.
  6. For most bets, it’s $15 minimum (pass line, place, etc). But I believe you need to have total of $15 to bet. Meaning, can’t just throw out a $1 hard 8 and that’s it.
  7. Team ban is dumb. If they want to limit the size of the team in order to be eligible for the prize, that may make sense. And yes, agree with banning phones. Some team got 19/20 on the strange laws one that was unbelievable for them to have known that many. The next best was 12 correct. Maybe they played with those exact questions before.
  8. That’s kinda my point. It was a general statement that they had a horrible cruise. Nothing specific that would be considered a one off thing. And it’s not like they have never cruised, so they have something to compare it to. Again, they could have a great time. I just wouldn’t risk it. If I didn’t like a restaurant 7 times in a row, I’m not paying for an 8th. Carnival isn’t for everyone. I’ve been on HA and wouldn’t go again because it seemed like a ship full of people just sitting around. Place was dead at night. Those same people might hate Carnival.
  9. Sure. But I’ve never had a day that I would call horrible, let alone an entire cruise. If the complaint was that their AC didn’t work in their room, I’d say that might be a one off. Sure, they can try again. And they might have fun. But if I had a horrible 7 day cruise, I wouldn’t go back unless it was close to free.
  10. Based on what you said, nope. I have never been on a Carnival cruise I would remotely call horrible. You said you had 7 days of horrible. So no, I wouldn’t go if I had a cruise that bad.
  11. Then they did a terrible job on my cruises because I don’t have a vaccine card and got off the ship without anyone asking. Doesn't matter though since they are changing it.
  12. Been to Grand Turk several times recently and they never asked to see vaccine status so I’m guessing this is to formalize what they are already doing.
  13. Folks have answered the dining question. As for the ships themselves, the differences for me are so minor that it doesn’t really matter. I suppose if someone likes certain drinks at the bars more on one than the other, that may make a difference. But pick the one that’s more convenient for you.
  14. I’m thinking this is right. Meaning kinda random. I only play craps, so I don’t build up nearly the points slot players get. I typically get offers for $100 cabins, DOU in casino and $200 free play. But I’ve also randomly gotten the DOU everywhere on the ship. I can’t say why. I don’t change the way I gamble. Just sometimes get it.
  15. This discussion about the FBI is great but I have important cruising questions. Are Cheers and FTTF worth it?
  16. Shouldn’t have to. It was in the system right away for me. And then we bought cheers for my wife. Never involved the casino folks during this.
  17. Just as an example, I had the value plan last week and streamed a college basketball game on my Fox app with no issues.
  18. I, for one, will sleep easier tonight knowing you do that.
  19. I tried on two cruises and got turned down. My rates were $100 for the cabin. I can see why they said no.
  20. I like both ships. Maybe Celebration slightly more. But I love the southern itinerary so easy decision for me. Go southern.
  21. It should be in the system so when you order a drink in the casino, it’s comped. If it doesn’t come back comped, talk to the casino host/hostess.
  22. Hit an ice berg. I know how this ends. Grab a door to hold onto.
  23. Agree with this. It’s truly amazing the number of arguments I see about cheers, if it’s worth it, etc. It’s really a simple math problem. People should do the math and decide if their drinking behavior (including both alcohol and non alcoholic drinks) is worth it. If it’s not, don’t get it. But the thought you have to be a heavy drinker to make it worth it is nonsense. You could make it worth it and never be legally drunk. I haven’t done that but it’s possible……
  24. I get why it’s annoying but the logistics of coming up with exceptions would be hard. What qualifies? How do you document it? To me, it’s not just about the money. It’s also how to implement exceptions. I wouldn’t want the headache.
  25. It may be different based on the port but they didn’t store our extra bottles. Not that that really matters.
