Does anyone have experience on transportation from airport to hotel & hotel to docks?

 

We've experienced the opposite--docs to hotel and hotel to airport. No problems other than that our driver from the docks had trouble finding our (newly-opened) hotel. That should not be a problem in the other direction, just get your hotel to call a cab. Coming from the airport you will avoid the lengthy security wait letting vehicles into the airport area. But can't tell you the mechanism for getting a cab at the airport. Airport is very well laid-out and modern, however.

As above-- cabs were easy, no problem whatsoever. Pleasant drivers and not-crazy driving. Not very expensive, as I remember.

We used cabs on our previous trip to Istanbul. Just had the hotel call one--no problem at all.

On our upcoming trip, because we have to leave the ship for the airport at 6:30 am, I have scheduled a private van with driver. Just didn't want to chance trying to find a cab that early in the morning.

Also had great experience with cabs -- even when they had difficulty finding restaurant we wanted to go to. Wonderful people in Istanbul.
