lovestheH20 Posted September 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2009 We are trying to choose between 2 cruises to Mexico: A 7-night cruise aboard the Sapphire Princess leaving from LA going to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo with an outside room, or a 5-night cruise also leaving from LA aboard the RC Radiance of the Seas going to Ensenada and Cabo with a balcony. My question is how important is a balcony on this particular cruise? Would it be worth it to forgo the balcony and go for the longer cruise and more ports? Thanks for any and all advice. We have been to Alaska with a balcony and adored it - so it is hard to give it up - but we are willing!
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Only you can decide if you can live with sitting on your balcony the last day, and saying to your partner...'If we had an inside cabin, we wouldn't have to get off for two more days...'. TrentS Posted September 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2009 Go for the 7 day, I'm sure you'll be fine without a balcony, back in the good old days ships never had balconies. ;) The ports on the 7 day are much better, Puerto Vallarta is beautiful, Mazatlan is interesting, Cabo is fun, but on the 5 day you only get Cabo. Ensenada isn't even worth getting off the ship for.
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2009 It really is a personal decision. Some people make a lot of use of the balcony or just like to open up the slider to let fresh air in. Others don't care. There is no right or wrong. Just what you prefer. If this was me, and dollars were the issue, I would go with a seven vs. five day cruise anytime. But that is me. Keith
grandmato4 Posted September 15, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2009 7 nights is always better for us than 5 nights. But DH does like his balcony! If this was our only cruise for the year than the 7 night cruise. If this was the second cruise of the year for us than the 5 nighter. Good Luck and enjoy!:)
cruiserbryce Posted September 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2009 the balcony is more important to some than others. For us there are plenty of places on board to enjoy the views and I would rather have 2 more days on board
lovestheH20 Posted September 15, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2009 I enjoyed reading all the responses, and it re-affirmed what I was thinking about the specific ports and more time on the cruise. 7 days does seem like it will help with the relaxing more than the five. :D
