Security Measures on boarding RCCL?

our luggage will be scanned right?

will they scan carry ons as well?

never went on cruise before but want to feel secure in knowing they screen all passenger's stuff:)

Carry-ons must go thru the "scanner", just like at an airport. Checked bags get a cursory screening, too....how carefully they check depends on the port and time of year...they're looking for things like alcohol, and of course, explosives, guns, etc.....

But, it's not by the same TSA rules--after all, every passsenger will have possession of their things during the cruise, unlike an airline, where you can check items that are barred from being carried onto the plane.

Carry on's will be scanned as they should be. They are looking for the same items that one might have in their checked bags.

You also walk through a metal detector.

Don't worry. All carry on items will be reinspected after every port stop and you will go through metal detectors. Luggage at check in is also checked, but probably only as carefully as it is in the airport.

generally speaking its the same as checking in at an airport. Additionally, coming back on the ship at a port involves security lines in which the items you bring on board are put through an x ray machine and and you walk through a metal detector
