Sprocket Posted September 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2009 No matter what my legs will not tan, so I thought this was the answer. Wrong, went orange and the color really grabbed on my feet and toes, tried scrubbing it off with a nail brush. Took some of it off, but now its even worse if that is possible, its all streaky and blotchy. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of it, I leave in 8 days, and it looks ridiculous to say the least. Suggestions please, I will check the boards when I get home from work....... cb at sea Posted September 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2009 Get some body scrub....some sort of "exfoliating" cream....and don't worry--it WILL fade before you leave in 8 days! Whenever you do a self-tanner, you have to exfoliate BEFORE you apply the tanner, and take extra care to clean toes, ankles, knees, elbows, hand and fingers (I use a "wet-wipe" sort of thing) to get any excess off before it dries. It can be tricky and takes practice! You may want to apply moisturizing lotion on those areas before you apply the tanner, too...that can help! Good luck--and don't worry! You'll be all back to normal in a couple days!

Sprocket Posted September 27, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted September 27, 2009 Thanks! Tried the scrub first with the brush, still left a lot behind. Think I'll try some of the other tips though, lemon juice and vinegar I have.......
Nebr.cruiser Posted September 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2009 I've heard nail polish remover might work. I'm not sure I'd want to use it on my skin, but...? maybe better than orange feet. You could always wash afterwards and then really moisturize.
momofmeg Posted September 28, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2009 In the movie "The Wedding Planner," the Jennifer Lopez character recommended a sliced lemon dipped in salt-which you would scrub on-sounded like it would hurt to me. I could imagine that would leave your skin raw.
10splyr Posted September 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2009 rubbing alcohol. I have used it several times when I went beyond where I wanted to go with Jergens and it has always worked for me. On the other hand, if you just scrub well every day it will come off well before 8 days!
