Aft deck 6 Explorer of Seas or sister ship

The aft cabins on Voyager class ships don't have the "straight down" view to the water that some other ships have....you will have a deep balcony, but then you will have to "look past" the rest of the hull of the ship, until the wake comes into view! It's not really "obstructed"...but the edge of your balcony is NOT the edge of the ship. (check out the deck plans to get a better idea....)

The lower you are, the more "hull" you look past before seeing the sea!

How much sun you get depends on the direction the ship is traveling in relation to the sun's position!
