Dice Setting

I've only had one no roll called against one of my rolls except when the dice left the table.

You claim to be able to throw a particular number yet you threw the dice off the table? Oooookay....

Two weeks ago on Carnival Valor there was a guy who liked to swipe the 5 dice under his hand against the felt until 2 of them came up with 6s, then shoot with those. The first couple times it didn't bother anyone, but after he spent about 45 seconds flipping the dice around trying to decide which 2 to take, the dealers told him to knock it off. He threw a fit but by that time had annoyed the rest of the players at the table, and the pit boss told him to either pass or pick up 2 dice and throw. We cheered. He complied.

In the casinos around here (Illinois/Wisconsin) and ones I've been to in Vegas, they'll let you get away with 3 or 4 short throws but after that they'll admonish you to hit the back wall. Dice bouncing against chips or the dealers hand is random and can't be manipulated against the house's advantage. Dice hitting the wall are very difficult to control, and they're conceding the remote chance that you're able to control it. Short throws can be controlled and the casinos will not permit them.

Who cares why the House doesn't like the dice to be tapped. If the shooter wants to do it then do it. I know dealers like to take shooters out of their comfort zone.

jetwet1 and myself care. Hence why we asked ya. There is a reason, but looks like you came out blank. LOL!

Looks like the Price is Wrong, Casino Player!!!!! :p

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO jester121: The dice could very well leave the table. If they land on the side they may bounce over. If you are sailing in inclement weather and one side of the ship is lower than the other the dice could go over. Rolls are random. They hit a back wall with pyrmiads all over them. Short throws are are difficult to control too. However, when a shooter rolls the dice with certain numbers showing there is a less chance for certain numbers coming up. When that happens other numbers come up out of proportion of their statistical odds.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Yo Eleven: Why the House doesn't like players tapping dice against the table, if you are on a ship because they think the table will go through the floor or the ship will sink as told to me by a floor man on the Carnival Dream.

However, the House thinks you will tap the Devil out and have a good roll. However, where the House makes it's money is when you win because except for the odds bet on the Pass Line or Come bets or the Don't Pass and Don't Come bets they don't pay true odds.

Thanks CP, But do you set the dice on top of each other or side by side, and what numbers you set the two dice to show up before you throw? Let's say if you want forty four (hard eight) to be rolled what number do you set the dice up which will probably get more chances of fouty four to be rolled? There are more to study I am sure. Thanks again. Teddy

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO aTrnkk: Most common is to set the dice side by side. There are sets to roll the dice stacked. Also, there is no guarantee that no matter how you set the dice that number would come up. Otherwise, I would be the greatest craps roller instead of the Captain of Craps. By the way, the Captain of Craps lives not far from here in Bay Ridge. A hard eight has one chance in 36 to be rolled. If you bet a hard eight you have four easy eights which would lose your hard way bet and six ways of making seven which also loses your hard way bet.

You also need to practice rolling the dice. Over and over again. Also, you need to practice setting the dice so you get faster at it. Some casinos, most that I play in, will only allow you to set the dice with one hand. Then of course you can only shoot with one hand. I set the dice with one hand and roll with the other.

Try using the flying three set. With the number three meeting at a point then going out toward the sides. Advantage, no seven is showing. It makes me feel better to roll the dice without a seven showing, if it makes you feel better what is the harm?

Seriously, tapping the devil out lmfao, try again.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO jetwet1: Well, at least you realize that a short roll will occur every now and then. Sometimes even twice in a row if the dealer sticks his hand out attempting to block your roll.

If a dealer did that on one of my games they would have bigger issues than worrying about a short roll.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Yo Eleven: You have seemed to miss something in the translation. First, it takes me a few moments to set the dice. However, I don't have $5 on the Pass Line.

Second, the players threatned to leave the table because the dealers were trying to give me greif while I was shooting. While I was in the middle of a one-hour roll. Made four points and a whole lot of numbers in between. I was making money, the other players were making money, and even the dealers were making money since at some point I put them on the line with me. With full odds.

Most players I see don't bang the dice on the table, they tap the dice against the table gently. There are a few that do bang the dice.

Casino Player..two suggestions 1) CAPITAL letters indicate shouting...not very polite 2) use spell check...it does wonders

Learn how to set the dice.

Golden Touch Dice control Revolution by Frank Scoblete Excellent book. Lots of pictures. Also, the house can dictate how the dice are thrown, how the dice are everything. It's their house. One time in Aruba, i held the dice for 45 minutes. They put a string across the table and i had to throw the bones across the string and hit the back wall. They did everything except change the dice because there would have been a riot. One time in Vegas, a casino had a newspaper article posted in a glass case showing where a roller held the dice for 4 hours and 45 minutes. They listed how much the table paid out , how many times they had to fill the chip racks.Ever notice how the back wall has pyramid shaped blocks instead of a flat surface ??? That's a house advantage to insure that the dice roll to their advantage. Happy rolling.

That would be the California, home of some of the longest dice roles ever.

Can you elaborate on this more?

I mean I couldn't sustain the roll, a couple rolls and seven out, seven out and seven out. I couldn't find my grip, couldn't find throwing rhythm, was nervous, rushed my throw, was not comfortable...etc.

I just got a couple of casino dice sets from Ebay I will practice my setting, my grip and throw pattern. Like I said pratice..pratice and pratice....

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Evergladesgator: The Casino will try to rattle a shooter. However, if they get to be too much then the players will leave the table. That is what happened on the Carnival Dream and the Craps Table was closed down before 0100 all but one day. On other cruises on Carnival the tables were croweded and they stayed open until 0400 hours one day. The pyramids on the back wall is to insure a random roll. However, there is no rule stating how hard the dice must hit the wall. If a shooter could determine the outcome of dice for 10% off the time then a lengthy roll may occur.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Trnkk: It is too bad that it didn't work out the last time. You must practice: 1) Setting the dice. It takes time, however, after a few weeks you should be able to set them faster. 2) Choose your set you like to throw from. 3) Practice your grip. 4) Practice your delivery.

If you could change the outcome of the dice for 10% of your rolls that is good. Then maybe you could get some rolls for 20 minutes or more regularly.

Oh BS, where do you come up with these ideas, the employee's of the casino couldn't care less.

CP didn't say the employees would try to rattle the shooter, CP said the casino would try to rattle the shooter. The one near San Diego did exactly that today, just before 11am. Everyone thought it was an earthquake, but we all knew better.
