Amy from Delaware Posted February 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2010 I assume the pool is closed at night, but is there any restriction to sitting or lounging in the pool area late at night?
Rare Lois R Posted February 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2010 I assume the pool is closed at night, but is there any restriction to sitting or lounging in the pool area late at night? Hi, your assumption is correct;)..the pools are closed at night. As for sitting there? I don't know of any restrictions preventing you from chilling out up on deck.:)

Rare Lois R Posted February 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Your welcome:) but remember, once its late, no bars open and no lighting up there either. (If you were thinking of reading a book or something)
RedSox5 Posted February 6, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Also something to keep in mind... sometimes the pools are emptied at night, so you may end up sitting next to an empty pool with no water! :p
Amy from Delaware Posted February 6, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted February 6, 2010 That's all fine with me. I tend to wake up in the midde of the night, and I think I'd like to sit quietly in the dark and look up at the sky or read (using my clip-on book light). I figured the pool area would be good for that.
ellbon Posted February 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2010 The Sunset bar on good nights is open late ans has light.

Phxazzcruisers Posted February 6, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2010 I have, on many cruises sat in the lounge chairs late at night for star gazing and just to chill. It is absolutely no problem at all. Enjoy

tea4ular Posted February 6, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 6, 2010 There are several quiet deck areas you can find for late-nught star gazing, or just chilling out listening to the waves. On one ship, we even found these slanted windows with ledges and lay back and just watched a series of shooting stars for over an hour. Here's a photo of us there, during the day (I hope it works). jackdiamond Posted February 6, 2010 #12 Share Posted February 6, 2010 On the other hand, you could sit on your balcony, but then the view would not be as expansive.
hajekfam Posted February 6, 2010 #13 Share Posted February 6, 2010 On the uppermost deck, they do run a rope through the chairs late at night to keep them in place.

Jack, not everyone books a balcony:rolleyes::eek:...there are those of us who actually book windows and then there are people who even book those insides too! tea4ular Posted February 7, 2010 #16 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Hey Tea4ular What ship were you on? This was on the Carnival ship Elation. I have found quiet and remote spots (aka no traffic and few lights to obscure) on every ship I've been on.
Dharma517 Posted February 7, 2010 #17 Share Posted February 7, 2010 I was hoping for an after dinner dip in the hot tub. What time are the pools and hot tubs open until? Jenn
nana nancy Posted February 7, 2010 #18 Share Posted February 7, 2010 On the Explorer last summer there was always a pool open. Usually the Solarium was one of them. We loved going up there for a swim, hot tub, and hang out with our group. We used the phone to ask for a bar waiter and one arrived in minutes. It was so nice, peaceful and we all enjoyed it.

I am not sure what time, but it is somewhere between 8pm-10pm I believe that they close them down for the night. As others have mentioned, you can still hang out on deck (and sometimes they have a nighttime deck party), but no hottubs or pools open late.
