8088 was available and we booked it...now I just have to wait until Feb '11.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I think you'll be very happy with it. We last had 8088 on the Panama Canal cruise, it is very comfortable out there with the lounge chairs, and 2 regular chairs. :D

We sailed on the Seranade of the Seas in December and our room was 7602 which is one of the hump rooms. It was on the opposite side of the elevators but only four rooms or so from stairs which was great for going down to dinners or up to the Windjammer. We thought of our two cruises that this was the nicest ship. Very easy to move around.

Our view from the balcony was very nice and it gave great privacy too. You could get some good sun too on the day at sea.

We had some rougher water on the second night at sea and the center rooms were far calmer than when we watched the shows at the theatre at the bow of the ship.

Wish that I had another cruise booked already!

The aft balcony appeals to me but I'm wondering if you will get alot of motion back there. I do get sea sick on catamarans and the like...but never have been sea sick on a cruise. Also, is it really noisy from the engines? That would be a hinderance in choosing one according to my hubby. Thanks for your responses!:)

In starting to look for my next cruise, Serenade is one we are considering. For the time we are probably going I am down to the following 3 cabins. He have stayed on the hump on Explorer before and liked that. Never done the aft and not sure about vibration there. Any thoughts, is one better than the other, are the D's worth the extra $$?

8592 - E1 on the hump

8172 - D2 aft

9582/88 - D1 on the hump

Thanks for any input.

We just booked 8172 aft on the Serenade for next year. We always stay in aft cabins as we love the wake of the ship. Never have been sea sick in all the years. Once on Princess the sea was horrible with very high winds and we did feel the rolling but so did everyone else on the ship!

Happy Sailing no matter where you stay or where you go...there you are!

We are "hump" folks, not aft fans so my choice would be D1 on the hump, or if you can get over the elevators, get one with a big balcony, like 9076, 9078. They are huge, don't get much in the way of sun but you have a full lounger on there.

Hey All!! I'm booked on the Serenade for May, and I was just wondering if anyone has any info on the cabins on Deck 10 forward like 1020 ish area... I believe we are on port side, and I dont believe we can really change our cabins but I just wanted opinions. We've had balconies on other cruise lines and wanted to know how RCCL compared and this is also our first RCCL cruise. We've done Celebrity, MSC, Costa, Norwegian, and Carnival. Any comparisons?

Thanks again.

sailing from san juan on 1 may and have a gs in back. do not remember cabing number but its in the corner and looks bigger than other gss

any advice on the seranade. Have been on many rccl. last one was a bit of a disappointment esp the casino, I would have to say out of about 28 cruises this was the worst casino yet. I believe the whole casino dept is going downhill with their special pricings, etc any comments. sorry the the bad writing, its late and im still working , just taking a five min break to dream about upcoming cruise.

Thanks, I am leaning toward the hump cabins myself, but keep hearing about how wonderful the aft balconies are. Of course with such a port intensive itinerary not sure we will be on the balcony as much. Decisions decisions :D

The aft balconies always cost the same amount as any other balcony in the same category. There's no premium for an aft. A D1 on the aft costs the same as a D1 along the sides.
The aft cabins and hump ones were re categorized a while back....they are the D2s.....(Voyager class still D1s)....so while great locations, now better prices!

We did a port intensive SR cruise(only 1 sea day).....could not find a chair by the pool that one day----wound up sitting out on our balcony..we were glad we had it..

Hi,

Am thinking of this cruise for next January. I can have 8598 (hump) or 1102 aft, anybody have info on this cabin? I have tried both, hump (on Liberty) loved the location, and aft on Navigator, loved that also. Just want to know if 1102 is OK, I know some views are not great...

Thanks

newlu

PS I will now look at all the ones mentioned in this post and see what's available.

Hi,

We can get 1102 aft (I loved the aft I got on Navigator) but hubby was not with me and he prefers to be in the middle. I can also get 9576, is this a good one on the hump? Probably better for him, middle of the ship.

Thanks

Very nice with a generous sized balcony - love the hump area, very convenient and quiet by the library

As i have said on a few other threads, #9576 is a great cabin with an extremely convenient location and a larger than standard balcony. The area near the library is very quiet and you can sit out there and look over into the Centrum and read or people watch. We found it to be like an extension of our cabin because it is just a few steps outside your door. Wish I were there now!!!! Good luck on your choice.

We like the elevator side on Radiance class and port side on all ships. I don't know why, we just do. A starboard side cruise was one of our least favorites. :p

EDIT: Maybe that's it...it feels like you are on the driver's side (US).
