AK Dreaming Posted February 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2010 Can anyone compare or recommend Great Stirrup Cay or CoCo Cay? These are different stops from two different cruises to the Bahamas.
cb at sea Posted February 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2010 I think you'll find both quite similar...they're not too far apart!
janabm81 Posted February 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2010 They are very similar...as a matter of fact they are right across from each other. (with in swimming distance) I like that Coco Cay has the tenders that dock...the Great stirup tenders pull up to the beach.

Krazy Kruizers Posted February 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2010 We have been to all of them -- and really do enjoy HMC the best.
BonnieVA Posted February 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2010 I was at CoCo Cay last month & it was VERY nice. They just made improvements to the island so I wonder if some people who give you their opinions haven't been there since the reno took place. But it is really nice there. I liked it much more than Half Moon Cay. Haven't been to GSC.
WeBeGone Posted February 20, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2010 We loved both CoCo and Great Stirrup. Both are hands down better than Princess Cay. The only thing Princess has going for it is that now, you can actually take an excursion away from the beach and explore half of Eluthra.
imsulin Posted February 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2010 I've been to all four. HMC - hands down is the best! Coco Cay is nice, but you have to walk quite a way down the beach to get to a good beach area, as well as from the tender pier. GSC used to be really pretty, but the actual area between the beach and the retaining wall has gotten very narrow, especially at the tender area, so you have to turn left off of the tender and walk a way down to get to a nicer beach area. I do like tendering right on the beach, though. I really thought that Princess Cays was very nice, with a beautiful beach! I think that one big difference is: RCI (Coco Cay) and NCL (GSC) have short cruises, as well as the 7 day cruises, so those islands/beaches are used more. HAL (HMC) and Princess (PC) just do 7 (+) day cruises to their islands. I may be mistaken, but I believe that NCL was the first line to buy and operate a private island. sail7seas Posted February 20, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Another vote for Half Moon Cay. It's a slice of paradise.
