Carry On luggage

We are going on a short 3 night cruise and I would like to only bring carry on luggage. What can you bring on a ship with you? Is it like a plane, one carry on and one personal item? More or less? We are going on ther Sky or Majesty of the Sea, have not decided.

No, it's not like a plane. No one is weighing your bags, or limiting you to two bags. You shouldn't need even that many for a three day cruise.

A 21" rolling upright and a travel tote should be more tha enough for a 3 night cruise. Fits in the plane overhead and is small enough to wheel onboard.

Ships generally allow 200 lbs per person..

Whatever you bring onboard as a carry on must be able to fit through the scanners, similar to those at airports. The cruise ship doesn't limit you to small amounts of liquids, etc. but the size of the luggage is important. They will be scanning your carry ons.

The luggage scanners at the port for carry ons accommodate the same sized luggage the airports do. For a 3nighter, I would recommend carry on only.
