eskz4me2luv Posted April 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2010 We are planning on boarding the Enchantment as early as possible for our cruise. What are the best things to do when you first get on the ship?

lovemylab Posted April 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2010 It is also an ideal time to get pictures of the ships interior as there won't be as many people around.
jcross2 Posted April 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2010 DOD is Drink of the Day. Be careful; the ones in souvenir glasses cost a bit more. And the ones being carried around on trays could be less than icy cold. But they're really pretty!
lovemylab Posted April 10, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2010 DOD is Drink of the Day. Be careful; the ones in souvenir glasses cost a bit more. And the ones being carried around on trays could be less than icy cold. But they're really pretty! When we were on the AOS in December we asked about getting the drink of the day in a regular glass and was told that it would be the same price. It worked out that even with the souvenir glass, the drink of the day was still cheaper than buying most of the other drinks at regular price. jcross2 Posted April 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I generally just order my usual, scotch & soda! Watch the dailies for specials ... you can often get a cheaper drink in the casino, and then take it wherever you'd like. The DOD is often loaded with sugary fruit juices, very good I'm sure, but more calories than I can handle! (I save those for dessert ... )
matj2000 Posted April 10, 2010 #11 Share Posted April 10, 2010 If you get on early enough, you can go bang on doors and wake-up the people who haven't got off yet. Maybe go find your stateroom and kick the previous cruisers out...
14Terry Posted April 10, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 10, 2010 Locate your table in the MDR.

jcross2 Posted April 10, 2010 #17 Share Posted April 10, 2010 But seriously, thtalks is so right, do check out your table in the MDR. It's much easier to change it that afternoon rather than the next day, if you weren't given what you asked for in the first place. And as Havingfun noted, exploring the ship is fun, too. Philly Steve Posted April 10, 2010 #18 Share Posted April 10, 2010 DOD, eat, wear a bathing suit under your street clothes, and then jump into a chair near the pool and get an early start on that sunburn, I mean tan!:D Good plan! Relax by the pool, watch new arrivals and enjoy the fact you've already started your vacation. ;)
cb at sea Posted April 10, 2010 #19 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I ditto S10Catman....eat a late breakfast, and you can skip the eating frenzy in the WJ...head straight for the pool! Don't forget to call your friends in Va. and gloat a bit about how you're sitting by the pool, having a drink!
SamFritz Posted April 10, 2010 #20 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I was first on the Grandeur a week ago today, 11:00 AM. Too early for lunch, so we changed into our bathing suits in the Fitness Center Locker Room, and spent two quiet hours in the solarium. They even opened the roof for us! Very nice!
