There's a kiosk just at the hallway between the service desk and the excursion desk (before you walk down through the art gallery). There's also one up on Promenade next to the little "hidden" staircase that goes up to Lido, by the Mastercard/Future cruise desk (just past the casino bar before the coffee/sweets cafe).

I actually prefer the kiosk to check my account because I can get a printout. Or I get one from the service desk (I'm Platinum so don't have to wait in line long). But I usually just check the balance at the kiosk. Very quick and easy to use.

So, the topic has come up in a recent thread about which ships have the "enhanced shipboard bands" that Carnival has on 9 of it's ships. Is the Fantasy one of these ships? They include a male and female vocalist per Carnival. It would be nice to have a decent live band to listen to during the evenings.

The question was asked to John Heald on his Facebook about which 9 ships have the new enhanced bands and if looks like the Fantasy is one of them!!

"John Heald: DJ Irie has really changed the level of DJs we have and we do not have any DJ only ships as you mentioned mate. Every ship has live music and selection of Duos, bands, soloists and piano bar entertainers. The enhanced live bands are on the Dream class ships. Liberty, Glory, Conquest, Sunshine and Imagination and Fantasy. I hope you enjoy them. Cheers mate and please ask me if there is anything else you want to know. Thanks"

Thank you so much! Being that I'm not a member of FB I wouldn't have seen this. CC is about as involved in social media I wish to be. Yeah, I'm young and only 25, but I believe Twitter, FB, and most other social media sites breads cynicism, distrust, and angst among most it's users.

Ok, I'm off my soap box lol. Thanks again for the info and glad that the Fantasy has this "enhanced" option :)

I supposed I had one of the "enhanced" live bands on my Conquest repo in November. Instead of the usual Filipino cover band, there was a band with male and female leads. They were very good, musically and vocally. I thought the girl's version of Superstition on the Motown night was pretty sad, not because she didn't sing well but because she really had no soul. And that has nothing to do with race.

But the band was good.

Best entertainment on that cruise was the Latin music band, though. They were just excellent. I've griped for years that Carnival should have Latin bands on the ships. How can anyone hear salsa and not want to jump up and dance?

Since I just booked Fantasy #7 coming up in early May, I'll get to see what they have to offer before too much longer. Just have to survive another tax season.

We are planning a girl's getaway on the Fantasy in a couple of weeks. Have seen some recent very negative reviews of the Fantasy and the passengers. Has anyone been on the ship recently and what is your impression.

I have been as recently as December 2012. I have her booked again for May 6th and cant wait. I have always had an amazing time. Very clean ship and super friendly stewards, bartenders and servers.

There are multiple Fantasy reviews in my signature below and I will certainly be doing another review in May.

If you are up around the gym and locker rooms. Would you mind checking to see if the womens sauna and steam room are connected to the locker room or if you have to go out into a "public" hallway. Thank you and have a wonderful cruise!

It's a public hallway.

It's a public hallway.

Yes, but it's not "public" as in both men and women are in the hallway. Women to the right, men to the left, so the only public allowed are people of the same sex. Hopefully, no one wanders around naked, anyway! :p

Haven't read any negative reviews and I try to read them all. If you're referring to the ones posted in the review section, I ignore those. People with ridiculous expectations who haven't done any pre-cruise homework, usually.

Yes, she's an old ship. No, she doesn't have a big-screen TV. Or a specialty supper club.

But she has a Serenity Deck. And the best crew and staff (and maybe the best head chef) in the fleet, imho!

I did the Behind the Fun tour on my 2nd Miracle cruise. I think for anyone who has sailed a few times, it really is worth the cost to see the behind-the-scenes areas.

Being on the bridge was amazing. Ours was on our last sea day (it was an 8-night from FLL that went to Panama, Costa Rica and Belize (fantastic cruise)), and we were just off the cost of Cuba when we were up there.

I especially liked the big red Abandon Ship button in the middle of the console!

Was just on the Fantasy in December and loved every minute. Of course, it is what you make it but I think you will have a wonderful cruise. Enjoy, drink (if you do) and let the fun find you.

I'm not sure if this hotel has been addressed before because there are so many posts to read, but......

what can anyone tell me about the North Charleston Inn?

Is it in an ok area to leave my car for the week while we cruise on the Fantasy?

Thank you!

It is along Hotel Row with several other chain hotels. It should be ok.

It is also across from Tanger Outlets.

The name Fantasy was a perfect fit for this ship and the cruise experience. My expectations became a total fantasy.....

I Paid $3000.00 for a Grand Suite that came with a mini bar that was never stocked, a bathtub that wouldn't drain, and a sink that was stopped up.

We Went to dinner each evening in the Jubilee dining room dressed according to Carnivals own rules and sat by people in shorts and jeans each evening. Even on Formal Night, which now they call Cruise Elegant. *** Carnival, can't you even enforce your own rules? Speaking of the dining room, I have had better food in a hospital.

I know Carnival in trying to make cruising affordable to everyone, but they have definitely cheapened themselves out of my business. Norwegian Cruise lines here I come!
