By the way I did start counting the burnout light bulbs in the Constellation Lounge last night but lost count having to run back to the room and mix more drinks.

If you join us on Solstice on Dec 5, you can follow me around as I usually leave about 1/4 of my specialty latte in the cup, I can bring the leftovers from Muranos in a paper napkin, I'll get three scoops of gelato and give you one in any empty glass you find, you can have the leftover warm bottles of water and I would be happy to share my soda card with you.

BTW, you can probably get free cruises on X if you sign on to be a guest comic. You're hysterical !!!!!

Along with your iron, wind chimes for the balcony and roll-on cooler, you should bring a golf score clicker thing to count any flaws on the ship like burnt out lites!:D That way you never loose count.

I am working on a very extensive list(in hopes of getting free next cruise) but that will come later in the voyage. I have noticed it is hard to find these flaws on Celebrity:mad:. You have much better luck on the older ships like Infinity. The new ones take really close examinations.

Cruise53,

You of course will need a magnifying glass for the inspection, but as that could start a fire, maybe they aren't allowed, although I didn't notice them on your list of prohibited items:D

EXCELLENT!

I got a good laugh out of this. Thank you:):)

Its 3 months to our cruise on Equinox and I have despaired reading the boards here, wondering if I'm going to be traveling with a bunch of miserable tightwads who can't be bothered to dress up nicely or enjoy a drink in the bar or DR.

They do however allow a sghian dubh, surprisingly. Perhaps you could become an honorary scot.

By the way are you related to my DH? You seem to think very similarly. :D

Did you all ever get the red stains out???? If not try soaking the clothes in the hot tub at nite for awhile and then washing them by sea action. You know what sea action is don't you? If you do not remember it it using the free X laundry bag and filling it with the clothes to be cleaned . Then reel in your fishing line with the nite light cork bobber on it and tie or hook the clothes bag to the fishing line and cast it out again to rinse the clothes out free....Have you been taking the pimentos out of the olives and using them in your reclaimed cheese spread yet .......

Have a great cruise..

Great tips ......I think you forgot about packing a lunch from the buffet or room service to take with you on port days ....that saves quite a bit as well. I mean really, who would want to enjoy a meal in a local restaurant anyway? Just be careful though as it is frowned upon by immigration officials (actually it's illegal, but don't you worry about that when you will be saving so much in food expenses while in port; IMHO definitely worth breaking the law)

Also, you may want to mix-up a few cocktails in your room to take with you......

Enjoy,

Nancy

Cruise 53, you may already be aware of this - but if you can get your hands on a pitcher or really big glass - and you mix up whatever leftover drinks you find - add some ice from the ice bucket - and you have a drink that tastes exactly like a Long Island Iced Tea - only different ;).

Also, if you really are a man  you probably want to avoid the leftover smokes with lipstick - you don't want to explain that to your DH (domestic half) I love it.

Be sure to troll through the casino looking for people with full buckets of quarters heading for the cashier's window. You can "accidentally" bump into them and knock all the change out, then pocket some while you are "helping" them to pick it up, which will give you more change for your tips!

Actually if you purchase a drink package, you could go to a lounge and offer to buy folks a drink using your package and then selling it to them at a discount but of course cash only. Maybe if you wear the red coat, you could pass for a waiter:D You'd only have to sell about 8 or 9 drinks a day to cover the cost of your package, of course a "get out of jail free card" might come in handy:D

note: if you are elite, you could also offer this service using your elite status to get the drinks and then selling them to the common non elite:)

I do seem to remember that keehauling(sp) and plank walking are no longer used on ships, but in your case they may revive them:D

OMG! I almost passed up this thread as just another drink package thread - too many and so tiresome - and I am so glad I decided to take a look!

One idea for you which I saw at breakfast in the MDR on disembarkation day - a lady was collecting bread, jam and peanut putter. She made peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and then asked for foil to wrap it up to take with her. Avoiding the cost of lunch at the airport!

Keep em coming!

Many good ideas since my last post. No we are not elite members yet but I do have several elite cards from other peoples cruises whitch works well at the afternoon two hour free drinking in Michaels Club. Just be careful when staff member checks you at the door, you need answer to the name on the card, also its best if you don't have a female card if you are male.:o:eek:

We today was our first port day. While at Breakfast I was able to pack enough food for the day although I would not advise try to pack grits. Not only do you get some very funny looks from the crew but finding a suitable container for them can be a real problem.

When leaving the cabin ran in to our cabin boy and gave him a bright shinny twenty-five cent peace, man I could tell he was impressed. That brings the total tips on this trip $2.25(three days so far). I bet not many of you have ever tipped like that. Well on with the days actives. I don't like to brag to much on how free I am with our money.

We went down to the gang way between deck two and three. I had my digital camera(purchase at Hudson's Dirt Cheap Salvage) in hand. We we got to the edge of the gangway I spotted some rust on the side of the ship. I had to get a picture of that for the report I am going to send to Celebrity on how old and beat up the Infinity is. While trying to get this picture(was hanging up side down from gangway rope because rust us under gangway) the other passengers were shouting for us to get out of the way, rude rude rude is all I can say about some people. I did fill one of the empty rum runners with water so we would not have to buy any in port. That didn't work because when I was hanging upside down it ruptured. Kinda made my bluejeans look like I didn,t quite make it.

Well we made it to town had to walk because cab drivers down here are rude. I held up two twenty cent peaces where the cabs were picking up people and they drove off screaming something in Mexican that kinda sounded nasty. The first place we started looking for war a Inter Net Café. Found one and sat for quite a while waiting for someone to leave that still had minutes left. Guess what the guy only left four minutes so I have got to go for now but will send more latter today if I can find another computer with minutes on it.

Look for people hanging their clothes out to dry -- it's a great source of new clothes for the family. It's nice to leave a couple of coins as a thank you to the people who are providing you with new t-shirts and shorts. Clean ones, too.

Actually I was thinking of doing that but I really am more of a save money guy. Besides Celebrity has changed the drink packages so many time now that I am not sure what the current one is. You would think a company as large as RC-CL would care more about giving stuff away than trying to make a profit off of customer's. After all how much could it cost to run one these big ships, they don't use premium gas, can get food from almost every port they are in, use bedding, towels table cloths over and over again, hire crew from all over the world, (mite add this crew is highly paid as I have tipped $2.25 in the last 3 days) and have some of the best entertainment in the world. Well I was going to write more on the bog today but the Ladies blackberry I have been using she claims as hers, and I think I am going have to give it back. Till the next time I find a free computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek:

Boy, I love the idea of going ashore, finding an internet cafe and spending the day sending emails telling people how much money I'm saving sitting sending emails about not spending anything, and reading all those websites I visit at home/at work. Boy, what a vacation! Saves money not using that very expensive ship internet, don't spend any money in the port actually seeing anything but the inside of some bar/cafe - no expensive sightseeing, shopping or wasting time just walking around seeing a place you spent your money on cruising to.

Maybe there's a laundromat near by and you can sit in the cafe and do your laundry at the same time. and if not, sit inside a laundromat and watch the driers while all those spendthrifts are off seeing and doing stuff. Don't they know the point of cruising is to be able to tell everybody how much you saved by not doing anything, and gaffah at all those people who throw all their money around showing off doing that stuff.
