Ordering Alcohol for the room

Recommended Posts

We would like to be on our balcony for sail away and want to know if we could order buckets of beer from room service to be there for the sail away?

Anyone know?

We are in a suite, so I think we can order room service, but I am not sure about the alcohol issue.

thanks, jean

Just go to the pool bar, get your bucket, and bring it back.

We pre-ordered a bottle of wine and it was waiting for us when we got to our JS.

Go to RC web site and look at Gifts & (something?) section.

I know you can order wine, just not sure if you can order beer.

Have a great cruise!

Thanks I didn't think they would allow us to carry the bucket back to our room. Also, I did look at the wine gifts, but it doesn't include beer, (too bad) as most of our group of 7 like beer better. Thought it would be nice to gather on our own balcony with our beer.

We have never ordered beer from Room service. It is no problem carrying a bucket around. We usually get 2 a soon as our room is ready to always have cold beer in the room and we replenish thru out the cruise as needed. Just give the cabin attendant a few$$ to keep the ice filled.

We tried to order one of our bottles of wine from our Wine & Dine package at one of the bars and they wouldn't get it for us because they can't access with W&D package info--so, we had to go back to the room and order it from room service. Then we just brought it back to the bar, no problem. :-)

So, I'm sure room service will bring you your beers.

I used to get buckets of beer while by the pool, and many times I would take my bucket to the bar at the end of my day, get some fresh ice, and take it to the room to finish it in the room or balcony. No problem there - but I have never tried to order it from room service.

We've have done this on multiple occasions. Sometimes our group will be by the pool drinking buckets of beer and one too many gets ordered and suddenly we're ready to go back to our cabin. We just take the bucket with us. You've paid for the beer, they don't care where you drink it.:)

great now that I know I can get a bucket of beers for the room, dumb question do they open them all, as we may want to save some till later, I would not want them all opened and I can pack a bottle opener.

you guys are so informative!

Just tell the bartender how many, if any, you want opened. If you order Coronas they'll give you a cup of lime wedges.

They don't open them all. In fact they "pop the top" on the first one without asking first. And it's definitely no problem carrying the bucket back to your room. In fact, I've ordered them and carried them to dinner, shows, casino, etc. with no problems.:D

Also, you can carry an opened beer or other beverages too.

Can you by rum/vodka, etc by the bottle. I know on some cruise lines you can order it by the bottle? Just wondering can you do this on RCCL? Thanks!

Sure, you can buy it, but they will hold it until the last night of the cruise then give it back to you.:(

..but on Carnival, room service will bring alcohol to your stateroom; wouldn't Royal Caribbean do the same?
Room service will bring alcoholic beverages to your room, but I've gotten the impression that they don't like to do that. I've done it 3 times (2 different ships) and they usually say it will take at least 45 minutes. AT LEAST 45 minutes is right. Once it was over an hour for a daquiri and a screwdriver. It's much faster to get it yourself from a bar.

No bottles on RC anymore. They only serve by the drink, unless it's wine. You can buy that by the bottle. No pre-ordering for the room, even if you have a full suite, which has a bar. Seems silly to me that they stopped allowing it.

I want a Whopper from the galley, but they won't do that either even though they have all the same ingredients. I guess some companies don't follow other companies' plans.

I have purchased a 12-pack of Coke Zero for my checked luggage because I really do not like the taste of Diet Coke. I'm not trying to start the rum smuggling conversation, but am curious - how much is a shot or two of rum vs ordering a "rum & coke" on a RC ship (Adventure)?

Just curious if anyone else has bought rum on board but packed their own coke product. Thanks for any replies/insight/help!

I'm thinking along the same lines. I'm planning on checking a small suitcase w/Diet Rite Cola (which is what we drink). Since we can no longer purchase liquor in the ship's store for the cabin, for our upcoming 4 day, if I want a nightcap or cocktail while getting ready for dinner, I thought maybe I'd just stop at a bar, ask for a double shot straight and take it back to the room where I can mix it w/my Diet Rite.
