Where are the Stewards ?

I notice on several posts people say just ask the Steward if you want anything , so where does your Steward hang out ? I imagine you contact him or her by your cabin phone am i right ?

Yes. They carry cordless phones. You can call them from your room phone.

Either that or you will probably catch them down your hallway maybe cleaning your neighbors staterooms. They are really friendly and approachable. Or you could just leave them a note. Some people take post it's to write a quick note.

Just an FYI, the room stewards are on duty in the morning and evening. If you need anything in between that time, contact housekeeping.

The post it note idea is invaluable! We took them on both previous cruises, left notes for our steward so we could hang out on deck for sail-away, and all was taken care of! The first day we asked for the fridge to be cleared, and the ice bucket filled constantly, and voile! We left a tip above and beyond. :)

very rare to get a poor steward. i even ask them for advice on ports of call.

I don't recall having to ask our room steward for anything. I guess we are just not demanding our he just did a great job and we had everything we needed.

Love the stewards. Usually they are nearby so that makes it easy. I will have to remember the post it note thingy. That should work nicely.

While the post it notes are a good idea..really no need to bring on more paper for them to throw away as there is always plenty of scrap paper on the back of the endless pieces of paper left in your cabin from all the anouncements etc....;)

There is a notepad in the cabin...just jot a note, if you don't see your attendant. On some cruises, it seems they were always around...on others, you never see them, but the room is kept immaculate....notes work just fine!

On the last two RCI cruises we were on, the room stewards handed out business cards with their phone # on them.

We like to bring one of those small eraseable boards with us. Fits into our carryon..we leave notes for each other and our room steward if need be.

Last trip I was up in the morning at all different times for dinner and he still managed to sneak in and take care of things while I was away. The really exceptional stewards just magically make everything happen.

 

A note always works, too. :)

I had a great one as well. I only looked for her to give her a tip at the beginning of our cruise. She did a wonderful job decorating our room for my dd's birthday.

Seemed she was always around making sure we were comfortable and happy. She was willing to share her insights on our ports as well. She would come in and organize my dd's things that she would leave out (straightener cooling down, cell phone charger, etc.). She even washed my dd's keepsake glass. She was there like magic....

Mine seemed to be always outside the bedroom door, lol. ;) everytime we went out he was there.
